Zbynek reports that alx trips an rtnl assertion on resume:

RTNL: assertion failed at net/core/dev.c (2891)

indeed the driver does not hold rtnl_lock during its internal close
and re-open functions during suspend/resume. Note that this is not
a huge bug as the driver implements its own locking, and does not
implement changing the number of queues, but we need to silence
the splat.

<title>net: drop the weight argument from netif_napi_add</title>

We tell driver developers to always pass NAPI_POLL_WEIGHT
as the weight to netif_napi_add(). This may be confusing
to newcomers, drop the weight argument, those who really
need to tweak the weight can use netif_napi_add_weight().

<title>alx: acquire mutex for alx_reinit in alx_change_mtu</title>

alx_reinit has a lockdep assertion that the alx-&gt;mtx mutex must be held.
alx_reinit is called from two places: alx_reset and alx_change_mtu.
alx_reset does acquire alx-&gt;mtx before calling alx_reinit.
alx_change_mtu does not acquire this mutex, nor do its callers or any
path towards alx_change_mtu.
Acquire the mutex in alx_change_mtu.

The issue was introduced when the fine-grained locking was introduced
to the code to replace the RTNL. The same commit also introduced the
lockdep assertion.

Most users of ndo_do_ioctl are ethernet drivers that implement
the MII commands SIOCGMIIPHY/SIOCGMIIREG/SIOCSMIIREG, or hardware
timestamping with SIOCSHWTSTAMP/SIOCGHWTSTAMP.

Separate these from the few drivers that use ndo_do_ioctl to
implement SIOCBOND, SIOCBR and SIOCWANDEV commands.

This is a purely cosmetic change intended to help readers find
their way through the implementation.

must be undone by a corresponding 'pci_disable_pcie_error_reporting()'
