i2sbus_add_dev() is supposed to return the number of probed devices, i.e. either 1 or 0. However, i2sbus_add_dev() has one error handling that returns -ENODEV; this will screw up the accumulation number counted in the caller, i2sbus_probe(). Fix the return value to 0 and add the comment for better understanding for readers. dev_set_name() in soundbus_add_one() allocates memory for name, it need be freed when of_device_register() fails, call soundbus_dev_put() to give up the reference that hold in device_initialize(), so that it can be freed in kobject_cleanup() when the refcount hit to 0. And other resources are also freed in i2sbus_release_dev(), so it can return 0 directly. i2c: Make remove callback return void

The value returned by an i2c driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. ALSA: aoa: Replace sprintf() with sysfs_emit()

For sysfs outputs, it's safer to use a new helper, sysfs_emit(), instead of the raw sprintf() & co. This patch replaces such sprintf() calls with sysfs_emit() while simplifying the open code in modalias_show(); as modalias[] is a NUL-terminated string, we can pass it straightly to a printf() argument. bus: Make remove callback return void

The driver core ignores the return value of this callback because there is only little it can do when a device disappears. This is the final bit of a long lasting cleanup quest where several buses were converted to also return void from their remove callback. Additionally some resource leaks were fixed that were caused by drivers returning an error code in the expectation that the driver won't go away. With struct bus_type::remove returning void it's prevented that newly implemented buses return an ignored error code and so don't anticipate wrong expectations for driver authors. strlcpy is deprecated. see: Documentation/process/deprecated.rst Change the calls that do not use the strlcpy return value to the preferred strscpy.
