The CODEC already provides the endianness flag on its
snd_soc_component_driver structure, specifying it is ambivalent
to endian. The core will expand the formats to cover both
endian types, as such remove the redundant specification of both
endians.

<title>ASoC: cs*: use simple i2c probe function</title>

The i2c probe functions here don't use the id information provided in
their second argument, so the single-parameter i2c probe function
("probe_new") can be used instead.

This avoids scanning the identifier tables during probes.

snd_soc_dai_digital_mute() is internally using both
mute_stream() (1) or digital_mute() (2), but the difference between
these 2 are only handling direction.
We can merge digital_mute() into mute_stream

	int snd_soc_dai_digital_mute(xxx, int direction)
	{
		...
		else if (dai-&gt;driver-&gt;ops-&gt;mute_stream)
(1)			return dai-&gt;driver-&gt;ops-&gt;mute_stream(xxx, direction);
		else if (direction == SNDRV_PCM_STREAM_PLAYBACK &amp;&amp;
			 dai-&gt;driver-&gt;ops-&gt;digital_mute)
(2)			return dai-&gt;driver-&gt;ops-&gt;digital_mute(xxx);
		...

instead of     snd_soc_component_read32()

Pull the RST line low then high when initializing the driver,
in order to force a reset of the chip.
Previously, the line was not pulled low, which could result in
the chip registers not resetting to their default values on boot.

'PTR_ERR(p) == -E*' is a stronger condition than IS_ERR(p).
Hence, IS_ERR(p) is unneeded.

The semantic patch that generates this commit is as follows:

// &lt;smpl&gt;
@@
expression ptr;
constant error_code;
@@
-IS_ERR(ptr) &amp;&amp; (PTR_ERR(ptr) == - error_code)
+PTR_ERR(ptr) == - error_code

<title>ASoC: cs4270: Set auto-increment bit for register writes</title>

The CS4270 does not by default increment the register address on
consecutive writes. During normal operation it doesn't matter as all
register accesses are done individually. At resume time after suspend,
however, the regcache code gathers the biggest possible block of
registers to sync and sends them one on one go.

To fix this, set the INCR bit in all cases.
