2018-09-25dt-bindings: display: renesas: lvds: Add EXTAL and DU_DOTCLKIN clocksLaurent Pinchart1-1/+11
On the D3 and E3 SoCs, the LVDS encoder can derive its internal pixel clock from an externally supplied clock, either through the EXTAL pin or through one of the DU_DOTCLKINx pins. Add corresponding clocks to the DT bindings. To retain backward compatibility with DT that don't specify the clock-names property, the functional clock must always be specified first, and the clock-names property is optional when only the functional clock is specified. 2018-07-27dt-bindings: drm/bridge: Document sn65dsi86 bridge bindingsSandeep Panda1-0/+87
Document the bindings used for the sn65dsi86 DSI to eDP bridge. Changes in v1: - Rephrase the dt-binding descriptions to be more inline with existing bindings (Andrzej Hajda). - Add missing dt-binding that are parsed by corresponding driver (Andrzej Hajda). Changes in v2: - Remove edp panel specific dt-binding entries. Only keep bridge specific entries (Sean Paul). - Remove custom-modes dt entry since its usage is removed from driver also (Sean Paul). - Remove is-pluggable dt entry since this will not be needed anymore (Sean Paul). Changes in v3: - Remove irq-gpio dt entry and instead populate is an interrupt property (Rob Herring). Changes in v4: - Add link to bridge chip datasheet (Stephen Boyd) - Add vpll and vcc regulator supply bindings (Stephen Boyd) - Add ref clk optional dt binding (Stephen Boyd) - Add gpio-controller optional dt binding (Stephen Boyd) Changes in v5: - Use clock property to specify the input refclk (Stephen Boyd). - Update gpio cell and pwm cell numbers (Stephen Boyd). Changes in v6: - Add property to mention the lane mapping scheme and polarity inversion (Stephen Boyd). Changes in v7: - Detail description of lane mapping scheme dt property (Andrzej Hajda/ Rob Herring). - Removed HDP gpio binding, since the bridge uses IRQ signal to determine HPD, and IRQ property is already documented in binding. Changes in v8: - Removed unnecessary explanation of lane mapping and polarity dt property, since these are already explained in media/video-interface dt binidng (Rob Herring). Changes in v9: - Avoid putting re-definition of lane mapping and polarity dt binding (Rob Herring). Changes in v10: - Use interrupts-extended property instead of interrupts to specify interrupt line (Andrzej Hajda). - Move data-lanes and lane-polarity property example to proper place (Andrzej Hajda). Changes in v11: - Add a property for suspend gpio function of GPIO1 pin on bridge chip (Stephen Boyd). Changes in v12: - Remove binding for dedicated DDC line (Andrzej Hajda). 2018-07-25dt-bindings: remove 'interrupt-parent' from bindingsRob Herring6-10/+4
'interrupt-parent' is often documented as part of define bindings, but it is really outside the scope of a device binding. It's never required in a given node as it is often inherited from a parent node. Or it can be implicit if a parent node is an 'interrupt-controller' node. So remove it from all the binding files. 2017-06-28drm: adv7511_audio: Add .get_dai_id callback to map port number to dai idJohn Stultz1-0/+8
ALSA SoC needs to know connected DAI ID for probing. Using the new audio-card-graph approach, ports/endpoints are used to describe how the links are connected. Unfortunately, since ports/endpoints are used as well for video linkages, there are some issues mixing the port ids to the two (video and audio) namespaces. To solve this issue, this patch adds new .get_dai_id callback on hdmi_codec_ops. The will assume that HDMI audio out will be connected to reg = <2>. This will then be remapped to the ALSA SoC side will as DAI 0. Allowing the adv7511's hdmi audio support to be used with the audio-card-graph. Credit to Kuninori Morimoto who's patch to dw-hdmi-i2s-audio.c was what this was mostly copy-pasted from. 2017-06-28drm: dw-hdmi-i2s: add .get_dai_id callback for ALSA SoCKuninori Morimoto1-1/+8
ALSA SoC needs to know connected DAI ID for probing. It is not a big problem if device/driver was only for sound, but getting DAI ID will be difficult if device includes both Video/Sound, like HDMI. To solve this issue, this patch adds new .get_dai_id callback on hdmi_codec_ops. dw-hdmi-i2s will assume that HDMI sound will be connected to reg = <2>. Then, ALSA SoC side will recognized it as DAI 0 ports { #address-cells = <1>; #size-cells = <0>; port@0 { reg = <0>; /* HDMI Video IN */ }; port@1 { reg = <1>; /* HDMI OUT */ }; port@2 { reg = <2>; /* HDMI Sound IN */ }; }; Signed-off-by: Kuninori Morimoto <kuninori.morimoto.gx@renesas.com> Acked-by: Archit Taneja <architt@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>

Pull drm updates from Dave Airlie: "This is the main drm pull request for v4.11. Nothing too major, the tinydrm and mmu-less support should make writing smaller drivers easier for some of the simpler platforms, and there are a bunch of documentation updates. Intel grew displayport MST audio support which is hopefully useful to people, and FBC is on by default for GEN9+ (so people know where to look for regressions). 2016-11-30drm/bridge: Add ti-tfp410 DVI transmitter driverJyri Sarha1-2/+7
Add very basic ti-tfp410 DVI transmitter driver. The only feature separating this from a completely dummy bridge is the EDID read support trough DDC I2C. Even that functionality should be in a separate generic connector driver. However, because of missing DRM infrastructure support the connector is implemented within the bridge driver. Some tfp410 HW specific features may be added later if needed, because there is a set of registers behind i2c if it is connected. This implementation is tested against my new tilcdc bridge support and it works with BeagleBone DVI-D Cape Rev A3. A DT binding document is also updated. 2016-10-10drm/bridge: Add RGB to VGA bridge supportMaxime Ripard1-0/+48
Some boards have an entirely passive RGB to VGA bridge, based on DACs implemented by resistor ladders. Those might or might not have an i2c bus routed to the VGA connector in order to access the screen EDIDs. Add a bridge that doesn't do anything but expose the modes available on the screen, either based on the EDIDs if available, or based on the XGA standards. 2016-09-19drm: bridge/dw_hdmi: add dw hdmi i2c bus adapter supportVladimir Zapolskiy1-1/+3
The change adds support of internal HDMI I2C master controller, this subdevice is used by default, if "ddc-i2c-bus" DT property is omitted. The main purpose of this functionality is to support reading EDID from an HDMI monitor on boards, which don't have an I2C bus connected to DDC pins. The current implementation does not support "I2C Master Interface Extended Read Mode" to read data addressed by non-zero segment pointer, this means that if EDID has more than 1 extension blocks, EDID reading operation won't succeed, in my practice all tested HDMI monitors have at maximum one extension block.
