2018-07-04dt-bindings: pwm-backlight: Move brightness-levels to optionalEnric Balletbo i Serra1-7/+8
The patch 'backlight: pwm_bl: compute brightness of LED linearly to human eye' introduced a default brightness-levels table that is used when brightness-levels is not available in the dts. So move brightness-levels and default-brightness-level to be optional. 2018-07-04dt-bindings: pwm-backlight: Add a num-interpolation-steps propertyEnric Balletbo i Serra1-0/+19
The num-interpolated-steps property specifies the number of interpolated steps between each value of brightness-level table. This is useful for high resolution PWMs to not have to list out every possible value in the brightness-level array. This patch adds the bindings document for LT3593 LED drivers. The binding is kept consistent with other LED driver bindings in that it stores all the LED-specific properties in its own subnode. As the hardware only supports one channel, there can consequently only be one sub-node. 2017-09-23dt: bindings: as3645a: Use LED number to refer to LEDsSakari Ailus1-10/+18
Use integers (reg property) to tell the number of the LED to the driver instead of the node name. While both of these approaches are currently used by the LED bindings, using integers will require less driver changes for ACPI support. Some LEDs can be related to a specific device(s) described in the DT. This property allows specifying such relations. E.g. USB LED should usually be used to indicate some USB port(s) state. Please note this binding is designed to be generic and not influenced by any operating system design. Linux developers may find "trigger" part a bit confusing since in Linux triggers are separated drivers. It shouldn't define the binding though (we shouldn't add an extra level of indirection). The LP8556 datasheet describes an EN/VDDIO input, which serves "both as a chip enable and as a power supply reference for PWM, SDA, and SCL inputs." The LP8556 that I'm testing doesn't respond properly if I try to talk I2C to it too quickly after enabling VDDIO, and the LP8555 datasheet mentions a t_RESPONSE delay of up to 1 millisecond. 2016-05-06leds: gpio: Support the "panic-indicator" firmware propertyEzequiel Garcia1-0/+2
Calling a GPIO LEDs is quite likely to work even if the kernel has paniced, so they are ideal to blink in this situation. This commit adds support for the new "panic-indicator" firmware property, allowing to mark a given LED to blink on a kernel panic. 2016-05-06devicetree: leds: Introduce "panic-indicator" optional propertyEzequiel Garcia1-0/+3
It's desirable to specify which LEDs are to be blinked on a kernel panic. Therefore, introduce a devicetree boolean property to mark which LEDs should be treated this way, if possible. 2016-03-14leds: Add SN3218 and SN3216 support to the IS31FL32XX driverDavid Rivshin1-3/+6
Si-En Technology was acquired by ISSI in 2011, and it appears that the IS31FL3218/IS31FL3216 are just rebranded SN3218/SN3216 devices. Add the "si-en,sn3218" and "si-en,sn3216" compatible strings into the IS31FL32XX driver as aliases for the issi equivalents, and update binding documentation.
