Pull ARM SoC DT updates from Olof Johansson: "DT changes continue to be the bulk of our merge window contents. We continue to have a large set of changes across the board as new platforms and drivers are added. Some of the new platforms are: - Alphascale ASM9260 - Marvell Armada 388 - CSR Atlas7 - TI Davinci DM816x - Hisilicon HiP01 - ST STiH418 There have also been some sweeping changes, including relicensing of DTS contents from GPL to GPLv2+/X11 so that the same files can be reused in other non-GPL projects more easily. There's also been changes to the DT Makefile to make it a little less conflict-ridden and churny down the road" * tag 'dt-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (330 commits) ARM: dts: Add PPMU node for exynos4412-trats2 ARM: dts: Add PPMU node for exynos3250-monk and exynos3250-rinato ARM: dts: Add PPMU dt node for exynos4 and exynos4210 ARM: dts: Add PPMU dt node for exynos3250 ARM: dts: add mipi dsi device node for exynos4415 ARM: dts: add fimd device node for exynos4415 ARM: dts: Add syscon phandle to the video-phy node for Exynos4 ARM: dts: Add sound nodes for exynos4412-trats2 ARM: dts: Fix CLK_MOUT_CAMn parent clocks assignment for exynos4412-trats2 ARM: dts: Fix CLK_UART_ISP_SCLK clock assignment in exynos4x12.dtsi ARM: dts: Add max77693 charger node for exynos4412-trats2 ARM: dts: Switch max77686 regulators to GPIO control for exynos4412-trats2 ARM: dts: Add suspend configuration for max77686 regulators for exynos4412-trats2 ARM: dts: Add Maxim 77693 fuel gauge node for exynos4412-trats2 ARM: dts: am57xx-beagle-x15: Fix USB2 mode ARM: dts: am57xx-beagle-x15: Add extcon nodes for USB ARM: dts: dra72-evm: Add extcon nodes for USB ARM: dts: dra7-evm: Add extcon nodes for USB ARM: dts: rockchip: move the hdmi ddc-i2c-bus property to the actual boards ARM: dts: rockchip: enable vops and hdmi output on rk3288-firefly and -evb ...
2015-02-03Documentation: DT bindings: add more Tegra chip compatible stringsPaul Walmsley1-5/+4
Align compatible strings for several IP blocks present on Tegra chips with the latest doctrine from the DT maintainers: http://marc.info/?l=devicetree&m=142255654213019&w=2 The primary objective here is to avoid checkpatch warnings, per: http://marc.info/?l=linux-tegra&m=142201349727836&w=2 DT binding text files have been updated for the following IP blocks: - PCIe - SOR - SoC timers - AHB "gizmo" - APB_MISC - pinmux control - UART - PWM - I2C - SPI - RTC - PMC - eFuse - AHCI - HDA - XUSB_PADCTRL - SDHCI - SOC_THERM - AHUB - I2S - EHCI - USB PHY N.B. The nvidia,tegra20-timer compatible string is removed from the nvidia,tegra30-timer.txt documentation file because it's already mentioned in the nvidia,tegra20-timer.txt documentation file. This second version takes into account the following requests from Rob Herring <robherring2@gmail.com>: - Per-IP block patches have been combined into a single patch - Explicit documentation about which compatible strings are actually matched by the driver has been removed. In its place is implicit documentation that loosely follows Rob's prescribed format: "Must contain '"nvidia,<chip>-pcie", "nvidia,tegra20-pcie"' where <chip> is tegra30, tegra132, ..." 2014-02-28dt-bindings: sram: describe option to reserve parts of the memoryHeiko Stübner1-0/+35
Some SoCs need parts of their sram for special purposes. So while being part of the peripheral, it should not be part of the genpool controlling the sram. Therefore add the option to define reserved regions as subnodes of the sram-node similar to defining reserved global memory regions. 2013-09-26ARM: sunxi: Initial support for Allwinner's Security ID fusesOliver Schinagl1-0/+17
Allwinner has electric fuses (efuse) on their line of chips. This driver reads those fuses, seeds the kernel entropy and exports them as a sysfs node. These fuses are most likely to be programmed at the factory, encoding things like Chip ID, some sort of serial number, etc. and appear to be reasonably unique. While in theory, these should be writeable by the user, it will probably be inconvenient to do so. Allwinner recommends that a certain input pin, labeled 'efuse_vddq', be connected to GND. To write these fuses however, a 2.5 V programming voltage needs to be applied to this pin. Even so, they can still be used to generate a board-unique mac from, board unique RSA key and seed the kernel RNG. On sun7i additional storage is available, this is initially used for an UEFI BOOT key, Secure JTAG key, HDMI-HDCP key and vendor specific keys. Currently supported are the following known chips: Allwinner sun4i (A10) Allwinner sun5i (A10s, A13) Allwinner sun7i (A20) Signed-off-by: Oliver Schinagl <oliver@schinagl.nl> Acked-by: Maxime Ripard <maxime.ripard@free-electrons.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

2013-08-20ARM: DT: binding fixup to align with vendor-prefixes.txt (DT)Christian Daudt1-2/+3
[ this is a follow-up to this discussion: http://archive.arm.linux.org.uk/lurker/message/20130730.230827.a1ceb12a.en.html ] This patchset renames all uses of "bcm," name bindings to "brcm," as they were done prior to knowing that brcm had already been standardized as Broadcom vendor prefix (in Documentation/devicetree/bindings/vendor-prefixes.txt). This will not cause any churn on devices because none of these bindings have made it into production yet. Also rename the the following dt binding docs that had "bcm," in their name for consistency: - bcm,kona-sdhci.txt -> kona-sdhci.txt - bcm,kona-timer.txt -> kona-timer.txt Signed-off-by: Christian Daudt <csd@broadcom.com> Acked-by: Stephen Warren <swarren@nvidia.com>

2013-04-29misc: generic on-chip SRAM allocation driverPhilipp Zabel1-0/+16
This driver requests and remaps a memory region as configured in the device tree. It serves memory from this region via the genalloc API. It optionally enables the SRAM clock. Other drivers can retrieve the genalloc pool from a phandle pointing to this drivers' device node in the device tree. The allocation granularity is hard-coded to 32 bytes for now, to make the SRAM driver useful for the 6502 remoteproc driver. There is overhead for bigger SRAMs, where only a much coarser allocation granularity is needed: At 32 bytes minimum allocation size, a 256 KiB SRAM needs a 1 KiB bitmap to track allocations. 2012-09-05misc/at25, dt: Improve at25 SPI eeprom device tree bindings.David Daney1-10/+24
Commit 002176db (misc: at25: Parse dt settings) added device tree bindings the differ significantly in style from the I2C EEPROM bindings and don't seem well vetted. Here I deprecate (but still support) the "at25,*" properties, and add what I hope is a better alternative. These new bindings also happen to be deployed in the field and were previously submitted for consideration here: https://lists.ozlabs.org/pipermail/devicetree-discuss/2012-May/015556.html The advantages of the new bindings are that they are similar to the I2C EEPROMs and they don't conflate read-only and the address width modes in a binary encoded blob.
