2019-09-20dt-bindings: net: dwmac: fix 'mac-mode' typeAlexandru Ardelean1-1/+1
The 'mac-mode' property is similar to 'phy-mode' and 'phy-connection-type', which are enums of mode strings. The 'dwmac' driver supports almost all modes declared in the 'phy-mode' enum (except for 1 or 2). But in general, there may be a case where 'mac-mode' becomes more generic and is moved as part of phylib or netdev. In any case, the 'mac-mode' field should be made an enum, and it also makes sense to just reference the 'phy-connection-type' from 'ethernet-controller.yaml'. That will also make it more future-proof for new modes. 2019-09-11dt-bindings: net: dwmac: document 'mac-mode' propertyAlexandru Ardelean1-0/+8
This change documents the 'mac-mode' property that was introduced in the 'stmmac' driver to support passive mode converters that can sit in-between the MAC & PHY. Signed-off-by: Alexandru Ardelean <alexandru.ardelean@analog.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2019-08-22dt-bindings: net: meson-dwmac: convert to yamlNeil Armstrong1-0/+5
Now that we have the DT validation in place, let's convert the device tree bindings for the Synopsys DWMAC Glue for Amlogic SoCs over to a YAML schemas. 2019-08-22dt-bindings: net: snps, dwmac: update reg minItems maxItemsNeil Armstrong1-1/+2
The Amlogic Meson DWMAC glue bindings needs a second reg cells for the glue registers, thus update the reg minItems/maxItems to allow more than a single reg cell. Also update the allwinner,sun7i-a20-gmac.yaml derivative schema to specify maxItems to 1. 2019-07-03dt-bindings: net: Use phy-mode instead of phy-connection-typeMaxime Ripard1-2/+2
When adding support for the DWMAC (and derivatives) bindings, phy-connection-type was required, even though the previous binding required the equivalent phy-mode. Let's fix this by using phy-mode as we should have. Signed-off-by: Maxime Ripard <maxime.ripard@bootlin.com> Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>
2019-06-28dt-bindings: net: dwmac: Deprecate the PHY reset propertiesMaxime Ripard1-0/+3
Even though the DWMAC driver uses some driver specific properties, the PHY core has a bunch of generic properties and can deal with them nicely. Let's deprecate our specific properties. Switch our Allwinner H3 EMAC controller binding to a YAML schema to enable the DT validation. Since that controller is based on a Synopsys IP, let's add the validation to that schemas with a bunch of conditionals.
