The WiFi firmware found on sm8150 requires that the QDSS clock is ticking in order to operate, so add an optional clock to the binding to allow this to be specified in the sm8150 dts and add the clock to the list of clocks in the driver. 2019-09-17ath10k: Fix HOST capability QMI incompatibilityBjorn Andersson1-0/+6
The introduction of 768ec4c012ac ("ath10k: update HOST capability QMI message") served the purpose of supporting the new and extended HOST capability QMI message. But while the new message adds a slew of optional members it changes the data type of the "daemon_support" member, which means that older versions of the firmware will fail to decode the incoming request message. There is no way to detect this breakage from Linux and there's no way to recover from sending the wrong message (i.e. we can't just try one format and then fallback to the other), so a quirk is introduced in DeviceTree to indicate to the driver that the firmware requires the 8bit version of this message. 2019-05-10dt-bindings: doc: net: remove Linux API referencesPetr Štetiar1-2/+2
In commit 687e3d5550c7 ("dt-bindings: doc: reflect new NVMEM of_get_mac_address behaviour") I've kept or added references to Linux of_get_mac_address API which is unwanted so this patch fixes that by removing those references. 2019-05-05dt-bindings: doc: reflect new NVMEM of_get_mac_address behaviourPetr Štetiar2-4/+5
As of_get_mac_address now supports NVMEM under the hood, we need to update the bindings documentation with the new nvmem-cell* properties, which would mean copy&pasting a lot of redundant information to every binding documentation currently referencing some of the MAC address properties. So I've just removed all the references to the optional MAC address properties and replaced them with the small note referencing net/ethernet.txt file. 2018-12-20dt-bindings: net: ath10k: add new dt entry to identify external FEMBhagavathi Perumal S1-1/+8
This adds new dt entry ext-fem-name, it is used by ath10k driver to select correct timing parameters and configure it in target wifi hardware. The Front End Module(FEM) normally includes tx power amplifier(PA) and rx low noise amplifier(LNA). The default timing parameters like tx end to PA off timing values were fine tuned for internal FEM used in reference design. And these timing values can not be same if ODM modifies hardware design with different external FEM. This DT entry helps to choose correct timing values in driver if different external FEM hardware used. 2017-12-14dt: bindings: add new dt entry for ath10k calibration variantSven Eckelmann1-0/+3
The bus + bmi-chip-id + bmi-board-id is not enough to identify the correct board data file on QCA4019 based devices. Multiple different boards share the same values. Only the original reference designs can currently be identified and loaded from the board-2.bin. But these will not result in the correct calibration data when combined with the pre-calibration data from the device. An additional "variant" information has to be provided (via SMBIOS or DT) to select the correct board data for a design which was modified by an ODM. 2016-08-30dt: bindings: Add binding for ESP8089 wifi chipsHans de Goede1-0/+31
The ESP8089 chips can mostly be enumerated via their sdio interface, but they are clocked by an external crystal which may differ from one board to the other. This commit adds a binding for the sdio child node for these chips, allowing to specify the external crystal type (for now, this binding could be be extended with e.g. OOB irq support later). The Android driver for this chip uses a text file with key, value pairs which gets loaded as firmware to pass this info to the firmware. The "esp,crystal_26M_en" name is chosen to match the crystal_26M_en key-name in that text file. Note that at this point there only is an out of tree driver for this hardware, there is no clear timeline / path for merging this. Still I believe it would be good to specify the binding for this in tree now, so that any future migration to an in tree driver will not cause compatiblity issues. There two things done in this patch, 1) Existing device tree entry 'qcom,ath10k-calibration-data' carries not only calibration data, it carries board specific data too. 2016-01-21dt: bindings: add bindings for ipq4019 wifi blockRaja Mani1-5/+84
Add device tree binding documentation details for wifi block present in Qualcomm IPQ4019 SoC into "qcom,ath10k.txt". Right now, ath10k wireless driver has support for PCI based wlan devices. There is a plan to extend ath10k driver to support wifi devices which are connected over AHB as well (enumeration will happen via device tree node). For AHB based devices (ie, ipq4019), all wifi properties are supplied via device tree (including irq, reg addr, cal data, etc). 2014-07-29dt: bindings: add bindings for Broadcom bcm43xx sdio devicesArend van Spriel1-0/+41
The Broadcom bcm43xx sdio devices are fullmac devices that may be integrated in ARM platforms. Currently, the brcmfmac driver for these devices support use of platform data. This patch specifies the bindings that allow this platform data to be expressed in the devicetree.
