2016-07-25dt-bindings: pwm: Add binding for ChromeOS EC PWMBrian Norris1-0/+23
The ChromeOS Embedded Controller can support controlling its attached PWMs via its host-command interface. The number of supported PWMs varies on a per-board basis, but we can autodetect this by checking the error codes, so we don't need an extra property for this. And because the EC only allows specifying the duty cycle and not the period, we don't specify the period via pwm-cells, and instead have only support for one cell -- to specify the index. 2016-07-07Merge tag 'omap-for-v4.8/ir-rx51-signed' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/driversArnd Bergmann1-0/+4
Merge "omap ir-rx51 driver fixes for multiarch for v4.8 merge window" from Tony Lindgren: Fix a long time regression for ir-rx51 driver for n900 device tree booting. This driver has been unusable with multiarch because of the hardware timer access. With the recent PWM changes, we can finally fix the driver for multiarch and device tree support. And naturally there is no rush for these for the -rc cycle, these can wait for the merge window. The PWM changes have been acked by Thierry. For the media changes I did not get an ack from Mauro but he was Cc'd in the discussion and these changes do not conflict with other media changes. After this series we can drop the remaining omap3 legacy booting board files finally. * tag 'omap-for-v4.8/ir-rx51-signed' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap: ir-rx51: use hrtimer instead of dmtimer ir-rx51: add DT support to driver ir-rx51: use PWM framework instead of OMAP dmtimer pwm: omap-dmtimer: Allow for setting dmtimer clock source ir-rx51: Fix build after multiarch changes broke it

2016-06-29pwm: omap-dmtimer: Allow for setting dmtimer clock sourceIvaylo Dimitrov1-0/+4
OMAP GP timers can have different input clocks that allow different PWM frequencies. However, there is no other way of setting the clock source but through clocks or clock-names properties of the timer itself. This limits PWM functionality to only the frequencies allowed by the particular clock source. Allowing setting the clock source by PWM rather than by timer allows different PWMs to have different ranges by not hard-wiring the clock source to the timer. 2015-02-03Documentation: DT bindings: add more Tegra chip compatible stringsPaul Walmsley1-3/+4
Align compatible strings for several IP blocks present on Tegra chips with the latest doctrine from the DT maintainers: http://marc.info/?l=devicetree&m=142255654213019&w=2 The primary objective here is to avoid checkpatch warnings, per: http://marc.info/?l=linux-tegra&m=142201349727836&w=2 DT binding text files have been updated for the following IP blocks: - PCIe - SOR - SoC timers - AHB "gizmo" - APB_MISC - pinmux control - UART - PWM - I2C - SPI - RTC - PMC - eFuse - AHCI - HDA - XUSB_PADCTRL - SDHCI - SOC_THERM - AHUB - I2S - EHCI - USB PHY N.B. The nvidia,tegra20-timer compatible string is removed from the nvidia,tegra30-timer.txt documentation file because it's already mentioned in the nvidia,tegra20-timer.txt documentation file. This second version takes into account the following requests from Rob Herring <robherring2@gmail.com>: - Per-IP block patches have been combined into a single patch - Explicit documentation about which compatible strings are actually matched by the driver has been removed. In its place is implicit documentation that loosely follows Rob's prescribed format: "Must contain '"nvidia,<chip>-pcie", "nvidia,tegra20-pcie"' where <chip> is tegra30, tegra132, ..." 2014-03-18pwm: Add CLPS711X PWM supportAlexander Shiyan1-0/+16
Add a new driver for the ARM CLPS711X Pulse Width Modulator (PWM) interface. This CPU contain two 4-bit PWM outputs with constant period, based on CPU PLL frequency. PWM polarity is determined by hardware by power on reset. Signed-off-by: Alexander Shiyan <shc_work@mail.ru> Signed-off-by: Thierry Reding <thierry.reding@gmail.com>

Pull ARM SoC cleanups from Olof Johansson: "This is the branch where we usually queue up cleanup efforts, moving drivers out of the architecture directory, header file restructuring, etc. Sometimes they tangle with new development so it's hard to keep it strictly to cleanups. Some of the things included in this branch are: * Atmel SAMA5 conversion to common clock * Reset framework conversion for tegra platforms - Some of this depends on tegra clock driver reworks that are shared with Mike Turquette's clk tree. * Tegra DMA refactoring, which are shared branches with the DMA tree. * Removal of some header files on exynos to prepare for multiplatform" * tag 'cleanup-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (169 commits) ARM: mvebu: move Armada 370/XP specific definitions to armada-370-xp.h ARM: mvebu: remove prototypes of non-existing functions from common.h ARM: mvebu: move ARMADA_XP_MAX_CPUS to armada-370-xp.h serial: sh-sci: Rework baud rate calculation serial: sh-sci: Compute overrun_bit without using baud rate algo serial: sh-sci: Remove unused GPIO request code serial: sh-sci: Move overrun_bit and error_mask fields out of pdata serial: sh-sci: Support resources passed through platform resources serial: sh-sci: Don't check IRQ in verify port operation serial: sh-sci: Set the UPF_FIXED_PORT flag serial: sh-sci: Remove duplicate interrupt check in verify port op serial: sh-sci: Simplify baud rate calculation algorithms serial: sh-sci: Remove baud rate calculation algorithm 5 serial: sh-sci: Sort headers alphabetically ARM: EXYNOS: Kill exynos_pm_late_initcall() ARM: EXYNOS: Consolidate selection of PM_GENERIC_DOMAINS for Exynos4 ARM: at91: switch Calao QIL-A9260 board to DT clk: at91: fix pmc_clk_ids data type attriubte PM / devfreq: use inclusion <mach/map.h> instead of <plat/map-s5p.h> ARM: EXYNOS: remove <mach/regs-clock.h> for exynos ...

2013-12-11ARM: tegra: document reset properties in DT bindingsStephen Warren1-0/+6
Update all the Tegra DT bindings to require resets/reset-names properties where the HW module has reset inputs. Remove any entries from clocks or clock-names that were only required to identify reset inputs, rather than referring to real clocks. This is a DT-ABI-incompatible change. It is the first of two changes required for me to consider the Tegra DT bindings as stable, the other being conversion to the common DMA DT bindings. 2013-12-11ARM: tegra: add missing clock documentation to DT bindingsStephen Warren1-0/+3
Many of the Tegra DT binding documents say nothing about the clocks or clock-names properties, yet those are present and required in DT files. This patch simply updates the documentation file to match the implicit definition of the binding, based on real-world DT content. All Tegra bindings that mention clocks are updated to have consistent wording and formatting of the clock-related properties.
