2014-11-27ARM: dt: fix up PL011 device tree bindingsLinus Walleij1-3/+25
Make the map match the reality, the current binding text is nonsense: - The clock required for the clocking of the serial port must come first and is not optional (as the driver will otherwise proceed to grab and use the apb_pclk as uartclk), and the apb_pclk that clocks the logic must come second as the code will retrieve the first clock by index, whereas the PrimeCell but will explicitly look for "apb_pclk" so this can be specified later, as it is looked up by name. - The pin control state "default" is the only mandated state, the sleep state is entirely optional. We also add an example to avoid further confusion. 2014-09-08tty: vt8500_serial: add support for UART in WM8880 chipsAlexey Charkov2-18/+2
Newer WonderMedia chips introduced another flag in the UART line control register, which controls whether RTS/CTS signalling should be handled in the driver or by the hardware itself. This patch ensures that the kernel can control RTS/CTS (including disabling it altogether) by forcing this flag to software mode on affected chips (only WM8880 so far). 2014-09-08Revert "serial: uart: add hw flow control support configuration"Peter Hurley1-1/+0
This reverts commit 06aa82e498c144c7784a6f3d3b55458b272d6146. This commit purports to enable auto CTS flow control for the 8250 UART driver. However, the 8250 UART driver already supports auto CTS flow control via UART_CAP_AFE and UART_CAP_EFR. Indeed, this patch introduces another DT attribute for which an existing firmware flag already exists ("auto-flow-control"). Furthermore, the use of UPF_HARD_FLOW requires the UART driver to define .throttle and .unthrottle methods, neither of which are defined for the 8250 UART driver (which will result in a NULL ptr dereference). Finally, this patch supposes to fix existing bugs in the serial core for auto CTS-enabled hardware, but does not include the class of hardware for which these bugs exist. 2014-09-08serial: clps711x: Use mctrl_gpio helpers for handling modem signalsAlexander Shiyan1-2/+5
CLPS711X serial driver uses the system wide registers to control the modem signals. Now gpio-syscon driver can be used for this purposes. mctrl_gpio helpers allow us to create GPIO bindings for any of modem/tty control signals that extends the functionality of the driver. This patch makes such change. This change does not break any current DT bindings, since DT support for this platform is not introduced yet. 2014-08-08Merge tag 'dt-for-3.17' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-socLinus Torvalds1-0/+20
Pull ARM SoC device-tree changes from Olof Johansson: "Unlike the board branch, this keeps having large sets of changes for every release, but that's quite expected and is so far working well. Most of this is plumbing for various device bindings and new platforms, but there's also a bit of cleanup and code removal for things that are moved from platform code to DT contents (some OMAP clock code in particular). There's also a pinctrl driver for tegra here (appropriately acked), that's introduced this way to make it more bisectable. I'm happy to say that there were no conflicts at all with this branch this release, which means that changes are flowing through our tree as expected instead of merged through driver maintainers (or at least not done with conflicts). There are several new boards added, and a couple of SoCs. In no particular order: - Rockchip RK3288 SoC support, including DTS for a dev board that they have seeded with some community developers. - Better support for Hardkernel Exynos4-based ODROID boards. - CCF conversions (and dtsi contents) for several Renesas platforms. - Gumstix Pepper (TI AM335x) board support - TI eval board support for AM437x - Allwinner A23 SoC, very similar to existing ones which mostly has resulted in DT changes for support. Also includes support for an Ippo tablet with the chipset. - Allwinner A31 Hummingbird board support, not to be confused with the SolidRun i.MX-based Hummingboard. - Tegra30 Apalis board support" * tag 'dt-for-3.17' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (334 commits) ARM: dts: Enable USB host0 (EHCI) on rk3288-evb ARM: dts: add rk3288 ehci usb devices ARM: dts: Turn on USB host vbus on rk3288-evb ARM: tegra: apalis t30: fix device tree compatible node ARM: tegra: paz00: Fix some indentation inconsistencies ARM: zynq: DT: Clarify Xilinx Zynq platform ARM: dts: rockchip: add watchdog node ARM: dts: rockchip: remove pinctrl setting from radxarock uart2 ARM: dts: Add missing pinctrl for uart0/1 for exynos3250 ARM: dts: Remove duplicate 'interrput-parent' property for exynos3250 ARM: dts: Add TMU dt node to monitor the temperature for exynos3250 ARM: dts: Specify MAX77686 pmic interrupt for exynos5250-smdk5250 ARM: dts: cypress, cyapa trackpad is exynos5250-Snow only ARM: dts: max77686 is exynos5250-snow only ARM: zynq: DT: Remove DMA from board DTs ARM: zynq: DT: Add CAN node ARM: EXYNOS: Add exynos5260 PMU compatible string to DT match table ARM: dts: Add PMU DT node for exynos5260 SoC ARM: EXYNOS: Add support for Exynos5410 PMU ARM: dts: Add PMU to exynos5410 ...

2014-05-28serial: uart: add hw flow control support configurationMurali Karicheri1-0/+1
8250 uart driver currently supports only software assisted hw flow control. The software assisted hw flow control maintains a hw_stopped flag in the tty structure to stop and start transmission and use modem status interrupt for the event to drive the handshake signals. This is not needed if hw has flow control capabilities. This patch adds a DT attribute for enabling hw flow control for a uart port. Pull ARM driver updates from Olof Johansson: "Updates of SoC-near drivers and other driver updates that makes more sense to take through our tree. The largest part of this is a conversion of device registration for some renesas shmobile/sh devices over to use resources. This has required coordination with the corresponding arch/sh changes, and we've agreed to merge the arch/sh changes through our tree. Added in this branch is support for Trusted Foundations secure firmware, which is what is used on many of the commercial Nvidia Tegra products that are in the market, including the Nvidia Shield. The code is local to arch/arm at this time since it's uncertain whether it will be shared with arm64 longer-term, if needed we will refactor later. A couple of new RTC drivers used on ARM boards, merged through our tree on request by the RTC maintainer. ... plus a bunch of smaller updates across the board, gpio conversions for davinci, etc" * tag 'drivers-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (45 commits) watchdog: davinci: rename platform driver to davinci-wdt tty: serial: Limit msm_serial_hs driver to platforms that use it mmc: msm_sdcc: Limit driver to platforms that use it usb: phy: msm: Move mach dependent code to platform data clk: versatile: fixup IM-PD1 clock implementation clk: versatile: pass a name to ICST clock provider ARM: integrator: pass parent IRQ to the SIC irqchip: versatile FPGA: support cascaded interrupts from DT gpio: davinci: don't create irq_domain in case of unbanked irqs gpio: davinci: use chained_irq_enter/chained_irq_exit API gpio: davinci: add OF support gpio: davinci: remove unused variable intc_irq_num gpio: davinci: convert to use irqdomain support. gpio: introduce GPIO_DAVINCI kconfig option gpio: davinci: get rid of DAVINCI_N_GPIO gpio: davinci: use {readl|writel}_relaxed() instead of __raw_* serial: sh-sci: Add OF support serial: sh-sci: Add device tree bindings documentation serial: sh-sci: Remove platform data mapbase and irqs fields serial: sh-sci: Remove platform data scbrr_algo_id field ...

Pull ARM SoC cleanups from Olof Johansson: "This is the branch where we usually queue up cleanup efforts, moving drivers out of the architecture directory, header file restructuring, etc. Sometimes they tangle with new development so it's hard to keep it strictly to cleanups. Some of the things included in this branch are: * Atmel SAMA5 conversion to common clock * Reset framework conversion for tegra platforms - Some of this depends on tegra clock driver reworks that are shared with Mike Turquette's clk tree. * Tegra DMA refactoring, which are shared branches with the DMA tree. * Removal of some header files on exynos to prepare for multiplatform" * tag 'cleanup-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (169 commits) ARM: mvebu: move Armada 370/XP specific definitions to armada-370-xp.h ARM: mvebu: remove prototypes of non-existing functions from common.h ARM: mvebu: move ARMADA_XP_MAX_CPUS to armada-370-xp.h serial: sh-sci: Rework baud rate calculation serial: sh-sci: Compute overrun_bit without using baud rate algo serial: sh-sci: Remove unused GPIO request code serial: sh-sci: Move overrun_bit and error_mask fields out of pdata serial: sh-sci: Support resources passed through platform resources serial: sh-sci: Don't check IRQ in verify port operation serial: sh-sci: Set the UPF_FIXED_PORT flag serial: sh-sci: Remove duplicate interrupt check in verify port op serial: sh-sci: Simplify baud rate calculation algorithms serial: sh-sci: Remove baud rate calculation algorithm 5 serial: sh-sci: Sort headers alphabetically ARM: EXYNOS: Kill exynos_pm_late_initcall() ARM: EXYNOS: Consolidate selection of PM_GENERIC_DOMAINS for Exynos4 ARM: at91: switch Calao QIL-A9260 board to DT clk: at91: fix pmc_clk_ids data type attriubte PM / devfreq: use inclusion <mach/map.h> instead of <plat/map-s5p.h> ARM: EXYNOS: remove <mach/regs-clock.h> for exynos ...

2013-12-20ARM/serial: at91: switch atmel serial to use gpiolibLinus Walleij1-0/+3
This passes the errata fix using a GPIO to control the RTS pin on one of the AT91 chips to use gpiolib instead of the AT91-specific interfaces. Also remove the reliance on compile-time #defines and the cpu_* check and rely on the platform passing down the proper GPIO pin through platform data. This is a prerequisite for getting rid of the local GPIO implementation in the AT91 platform and move toward multiplatform. The patch also adds device tree support for getting the RTS GPIO pin from the device tree on DT boot paths.
