Pull staging/IIO driver updates from Greg KH: "Here is the big staging and IIO driver update for 4.14-rc1. Lots of staging driver fixes and cleanups, including some reorginizing of the lustre header files to try to impose some sanity on what is, and what is not, the uapi for that filesystem. There are some tty core changes in here as well, as the speakup drivers need them, and that's ok with me, they are sane and the speakup code is getting nicer because of it. There is also the addition of the obiligatory new wifi driver, just because it has been a release or two since we added our last one... 2017-09-05dt-bindings: Remove "status" from examplesRob Herring13-21/+0
Pretty much any node can have a status property, so it doesn't need to be in examples. Converted with the following command and removed examples with SoC and board specific splits: git grep -l -E 'status.*=.*' Documentation/devicetree/ | xargs sed -i -E '/\sstatus.*=.*"(disabled|ok|okay)/d' Acked-by: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com> Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>
2017-08-31staging: typec: fusb302: Get max snk mv/ma/mw from device-propertiesHans de Goede1-0/+29
This is board specific info so it should come from board config, such as devicetree. I've chosen to prefix these with "fcs," treating them as fusb302 driver specific for now. We may want to revisit this and replace these with properties which are part of a (to be written) generic type-c controller devicetree binding. Since this commit adds new dt-properties it also adds devicetree-bindings documentation (which so far was absent for the fusb302 driver). 2017-05-17usb: dwc3: add disable u2mac linestate check quirkWilliam Wu1-0/+2
This patch adds a quirk to disable USB 2.0 MAC linestate check during HS transmit. Refer the dwc3 databook, we can use it for some special platforms if the linestate not reflect the expected line state(J) during transmission. When use this quirk, the controller implements a fixed 40-bit TxEndDelay after the packet is given on UTMI and ignores the linestate during the transmit of a token (during token-to-token and token-to-data IPGAP). On some rockchip platforms (e.g. rk3399), it requires to disable the u2mac linestate check to decrease the SSPLIT token to SETUP token inter-packet delay from 566ns to 466ns, and fix the issue that FS/LS devices not recognized if inserted through USB 3.0 HUB. Felipe writes: USB: changes for v4.11 Here's the big pull request for the Gadget API. Again the majority of changes sit in dwc2 driver. Most important changes contain a workaround for GOTGCTL being wrong, a sleep-inside-spinlock fix and the big series of cleanups on dwc2. One important thing on dwc3 is that we don't anymore need gadget drivers to cope with unaligned OUT transfers for us. We have support for appending one extra chained TRB to align transfer ourselves. Apart from these, the usual set of typos, non-critical fixes, etc.

2017-01-20usb: ulpi: Support device discovery via DTStephen Boyd1-0/+20
The qcom HSIC ULPI phy doesn't have any bits set in the vendor or product ID registers. This makes it impossible to make a ULPI driver match against the ID registers. Add support to discover the ULPI phys via DT help alleviate this problem. In the DT case, we'll look for a ULPI bus node underneath the device registering the ULPI viewport (or the parent of that device to support chipidea's device layout) and then match up the phy node underneath that with the ULPI device that's created. The side benefit of this is that we can use standard properties in the phy node like clks, regulators, gpios, etc. because we don't have firmware like ACPI to turn these things on for us. And we can use the DT phy binding to point our phy consumer to the phy provider. The ULPI bus code supports native enumeration by reading the vendor ID and product ID registers at device creation time, but we can't be certain that those register reads will succeed if the phy is not powered up. To avoid any problems with reading the ID registers before the phy is powered we fallback to DT matching when the ID reads fail. If the ULPI spec had some generic power sequencing for these registers we could put that into the ULPI bus layer and power up the device before reading the ID registers. Unfortunately this doesn't exist and the power sequence is usually device specific. By having the device matched up with DT we can avoid this problem. The most important changes for dwc2 are the peripheral side DMA support implemented by Synopsys folks and support for the new IOT dwc2 compatible core from Synopsys. This patch adds support for the "amcc,usb-otg" device which is found in the PowerPC Canyonlands' dts. The device definition was added by: commit c89b3458d8cc ("powerpc/44x: Add USB DWC DTS entry to Canyonlands board") but without any driver support as the dwc2 driver wasn't available at that time. Note: The system can't use the generic "snps,dwc2" compatible because of the special ahbcfg configuration. The default GAHBCFG_HBSTLEN_INCR4 of snps,dwc2 can cause a system hang when the USB and SATA is used concurrently.
