2022-06-08KVM: x86: Allow userspace to set maximum VCPU id for VMZeng Guang1-0/+21
Introduce new max_vcpu_ids in KVM for x86 architecture. Userspace can assign maximum possible vcpu id for current VM session using KVM_CAP_MAX_VCPU_ID of KVM_ENABLE_CAP ioctl(). This is done for x86 only because the sole use case is to guide memory allocation for PID-pointer table, a structure needed to enable VMX IPI. By default, max_vcpu_ids set as KVM_MAX_VCPU_IDS. 2022-06-07dt-bindings: Drop more redundant 'maxItems/minItems' in if/then schemasRob Herring3-5/+0
Another round from new cases in 5.19-rc of removing redundant minItems/maxItems when 'items' list is specified. This time it is in if/then schemas as the meta-schema was failing to check this case. If a property has an 'items' list, then a 'minItems' or 'maxItems' with the same size as the list is redundant and can be dropped. Note that is DT schema specific behavior and not standard json-schema behavior. The tooling will fixup the final schema adding any unspecified minItems/maxItems. Merge series from Sameer Pujar <spujar@nvidia.com>: This series adds support for Output Prcoessing Module (OPE) module on Tegra210 and later generations of SoCs. OPE is a client of AHUB and it has sub blocks of PEQ (Parametric Equalizer) and MBDRC (Multi Band Dynamic Range Compressor) for data processing. An ASoC component is registered for OPE, which includes PEQ and MBDRC functions as well. This can be plugged in audio path using ALSA mixer controls. The series adds necessary binding documentaion, driver and DT binding patches to enable OPE module on Jetson platforms.

2022-06-06dt-bindings: Add xen,grant-dma IOMMU description for xen-grant DMA opsOleksandr Tyshchenko1-0/+39
The main purpose of this binding is to communicate Xen specific information using generic IOMMU device tree bindings (which is a good fit here) rather than introducing a custom property. Introduce Xen specific IOMMU for the virtualized device (e.g. virtio) to be used by Xen grant DMA-mapping layer in the subsequent commit. The reference to Xen specific IOMMU node using "iommus" property indicates that Xen grant mappings need to be enabled for the device, and it specifies the ID of the domain where the corresponding backend resides. The domid (domain ID) is used as an argument to the Xen grant mapping APIs. This is needed for the option to restrict memory access using Xen grant mappings to work which primary goal is to enable using virtio devices in Xen guests. This patch adds YAML schema for DT bindings of Output Processing Engine (OPE) module. It consists of Parametric Equalizer (PEQ) and Multi Band Dynamic Range Compressor (MBDRC) sub blocks and binding doc for these blocks are added as well. The OPE will be registered as an ASoC component and can be plugged into an audio path as per need via ALSA mixer controls. The DT bindings are applicable on Tegra210 and later SoCs where OPE module is present. The 'unevaluatedProperties' schema checks is not fully working and doesn't catch some cases where there's a $ref to another schema. A fix is pending, but results in new warnings in examples. It still misses three sets of peripheral but vital patches to add support for other subsystems, which have yet to pass review: - The drivers/firmware/efi stub for booting from a standard UEFI firmware implementation. Both the original custom boot interface and a draft implementation of the EFI stub did not make it, so it is currently impossible to boot the kernel, until the loongarch specific portions get accepted into the UEFI subsystem - The drivers/irqchip/irq-loongson-*.c drivers are shared with the the MIPS port, but currently lack support for ACPI based booting, which will get merged through the irqchip subsystem. - Similarly, the drivers/pci/controller/pci-loongson.c needs to be modified for ACPI support, which will be merged through the PCI subsystem. FPGA devices specifically want this ability to have their firmware changed over the lifetime of the system boot, and this allows them to work without having to come up with yet-another-custom-uapi interface for loading firmware for them. - physical location support added to sysfs so that devices that know this information, can tell userspace where they are located in a common way. Some ACPI devices already support this today, and more bus types should support this in the future. Smaller changes include: - driver_override api cleanups and fixes - error path cleanups and fixes - get_abi script fixes - deferred probe timeout changes. It's that last change that I'm the most worried about. It has been reported to cause boot problems for a number of systems, and I have a tested patch series that resolves this issue.
