The Generic Counter chrdev interface expects users to supply component
IDs in order to select Synapses for requests. In order for users to know
what component ID belongs to which Synapse this information must be
exposed. The signalZ_action_component_id attribute provides a way for
users to discover what component ID belongs to the respective Synapse.

memory map is actually split in 4 regions and obviously the size of

Switch the reg to require that all four regions are specified instead.
It is expected that the implementation will handle existing DTBs, even

TQ-Systems' TQMa8Mx module (SoM) uses a pcf85063 as RTC. The default output
is 32768Hz. This is to provide the i.MX8M CKIL clock. Once the RTC driver
is probed, the clock is disabled and all i.MX8M functionality depending on
the 32 KHz clock will halt. In our case the whole system halts and a power
cycle is required.
Referencing the pcf85063 directly results in a deadlock. The kernel
will see, that i.MX8M system clock needs the RTC clock and do probe
deferral. But the i.MX8M I2C module never becomes usable without the
i.MX8M CKIL clock and thus the RTC's clock will not be probed. So
from the kernel's perspective this is a chicken-and-egg problem.
Technically everything is fine by not touching anything, since
the RTC clock correctly enables the clock on reset (i.e. on
battery backup power loss).
A workaround for this issue is describing the square wave pin
as fixed-clock, which is registered early and basically how
this pin is used on the i.MX8M.
This addresses the exact same issue as in commit f765e349c3e1 ("rtc:
m41t80: add support for fixed clock").

Mostly driver specific but there's one in the core which fixes a
deadlock when adding devices on spi-mux that's triggered because
spi-mux is a SPI device which is itself a SPI controller and so can

Both ACPI and DT provide the ability to describe additional layers of
topology between that of individual cores and higher level constructs
such as the level at which the last level cache is shared.
In ACPI this can be represented in PPTT as a Processor Hierarchy
Node Structure [1] that is the parent of the CPU cores and in turn
has a parent Processor Hierarchy Nodes Structure representing
a higher level of topology.
For example Kunpeng 920 has 6 or 8 clusters in each NUMA node, and each
cluster has 4 cpus. All clusters share L3 cache data, but each cluster
has local L3 tag. On the other hand, each clusters will share some
internal system bus.

That means spreading tasks among clusters will bring more bandwidth
while packing tasks within one cluster will lead to smaller cache
synchronization latency. So both kernel and userspace will have
a chance to leverage this topology to deploy tasks accordingly to
achieve either smaller cache latency within one cluster or an even
distribution of load among clusters for higher throughput.
This patch exposes cluster topology to both kernel and userspace.
Libraried like hwloc will know cluster by cluster_cpus and related
sysfs attributes. PoC of HWLOC support at [2].
Note this patch only handle the ACPI case.
Special consideration is needed for SMT processors, where it is
necessary to move 2 levels up the hierarchy from the leaf nodes
(thus skipping the processor core level).
Note that arm64 / ACPI does not provide any means of identifying
a die level in the topology but that may be unrelate to the cluster
level.

Some Tegra20 boards don't have RAM code stored in NVMEM, which is used for
the memory chip identification and the identity information should be read
out from LPDDR2 chip in this case. Document new sub-node containing generic
LPDDR2 properties that will be used for the memory chip identification if
RAM code isn't available. The identification is done by reading out memory
configuration values from generic LPDDR2 mode registers of SDRAM chip and
comparing them with the values of device-tree 'lpddr2' sub-node.

Elpida Memory designed, manufactured and sold dynamic random-access
memory (DRAM) products. It was acquired by Micron Technology in 2013,
still there are many devices with components from Elpida. Document the
vendor prefix.

Elpida B8132B2PB-6D-F memory chip is used by ASUS Transformer TF101
tablet, add compatible for it. We need to specify this compatible it
for a device-tree node containing corresponding memory timings in order
to allow software to match the timings with the detected hardware.

Convert LPDDR2 binding to schema. I removed obsolete ti,jedec-lpddr2-*
compatibles since they were never used by device-trees and by the code.
I also changed "Elpida" compatible prefix to lowercase "elpida".
