Each region has an independently configurable number of maximum
snapshots. This information is not reported to userspace, making it not
very discoverable. Fix this by adding a new
DEVLINK_ATTR_REGION_MAX_SNAPSHOST attribute which is used to report this
maximum.
Ex:
$devlink region
pci/0000:af:00.0/nvm-flash: size 10485760 snapshot [] max 1
pci/0000:af:00.0/device-caps: size 4096 snapshot [] max 10
pci/0000:af:00.1/nvm-flash: size 10485760 snapshot [] max 1
pci/0000:af:00.1/device-caps: size 4096 snapshot [] max 10
This information enables users to understand why a new region command
may fail due to having too many existing snapshots.

The old binding was covering the whole DMU block space (DMU block
contains CRU block which contains USB PHY). It was a bad design,
overkill and a non-generic solution.
Northstar's USB 2.0 PHY is a small block (part of the CRU MFD) and
binding should be designed to represent that properly. Rework the
binding to map just PHY with the "reg" property and use syscon to
reference shared register that controls block access.
The old binding is deprecated now.

Modify the scaler subdevice to accept setting the resolution of the source
pad (previously the source resolution would always be 3 times the sink for
both dimensions). Now any resolution can be set at src (even smaller ones)
and the sink video will be scaled to match it.
Test example: With the vimc module up (using the default vimc topology)
media-ctl -d platform:vimc -V '"Sensor A":0[fmt:SBGGR8_1X8/640x480]'
media-ctl -d platform:vimc -V '"Debayer A":0[fmt:SBGGR8_1X8/640x480]'
media-ctl -d platform:vimc -V '"Scaler":0[fmt:RGB888_1X24/640x480]'
media-ctl -d platform:vimc -V '"Scaler":0[crop:(100,50)/400x150]'
media-ctl -d platform:vimc -V '"Scaler":1[fmt:RGB888_1X24/300x700]'
v4l2-ctl -z platform:vimc -d "RGB/YUV Capture" -v width=300,height=700
v4l2-ctl -z platform:vimc -d "Raw Capture 0" -v pixelformat=BA81
v4l2-ctl --stream-mmap --stream-count=10 -z platform:vimc -d "RGB/YUV Capture" \
--stream-to=test.raw
The result will be a cropped stream that can be checked with the command
ffplay -loglevel warning -v info -f rawvideo -pixel_format rgb24 \
-video_size "300x700" test.raw

This patch lets user-space request a non-coherent memory
allocation during CREATE_BUFS and REQBUFS ioctl calls.
= CREATE_BUFS
struct v4l2_create_buffers has seven 4-byte reserved areas,
so reserved[0] is renamed to ->flags. The struct, thus, now
has six reserved 4-byte regions.
= CREATE_BUFS32
struct v4l2_create_buffers32 has seven 4-byte reserved areas,
so reserved[0] is renamed to ->flags. The struct, thus, now
has six reserved 4-byte regions.
= REQBUFS
We use one byte of a 4 byte ->reserved[1] member of struct
v4l2_requestbuffers. The struct, thus, now has reserved 3 bytes.

Add more information about V4L2_PIX_FMT_NV12MT and
V4L2_PIX_FMT_NV12M_16X16, so it's clearer for driver authors and users.
Also, group the two pixel formats with the other tiled formats,

Unlike the recently introduced tiled formats (V4L2_PIX_FMT_NV12_4L4, etc)
these formats have remained Samsung-specific until now. Therefore, and
although the NV12MT and NV12MT_16X16 nomenclatures are less clear, we are

There are couple of revisions of SOMs (k26) and associated carrier cards
(kv260).
SOM itself has two major versions:
sm-k26 - SOM with EMMC
smk-k26 - SOM without EMMC used on starter kit with preprogrammed firmware
in QSPI.
SOMs are describing only devices available on the SOM or connections which
are described in specification (for example UART, fwuen).
When SOM boots out of QSPI it uses limited number of peripherals defined by
the specification and present in sm(k)-k26 dtses.
Then a carrier card (CC) detection is happening and DT overlay is applied
to brings new functionality. That's why DT overlays are used. The name is
composed together with SOM name and CC name that's why DT overlays with
these names are generated to make sure they can be used together.

Commit 7ac592aa35a684ff ("sched: prctl() core-scheduling interface")
made use of enum pid_type in prctl's arg4; this type and the associated
enumeration definitions are not exposed to userspace. Christian
has suggested to provide additional macro definitions that convey
the meaning of the type argument more in alignment with its actual
usage, and this patch does exactly that.

export. For instance, drivers/scsi/ufs/ufs-hisi.c actually
creates the sysfs struct for ufshcd inside this directory:
/sys/devices/platform/soc/ff3c0000.ufs
Which has those aliases:
/sys/devices/virtual/devlink/platform:fff35000.crg_ctrl--platform:ff3c0000.ufs/consumer/
/sys/bus/platform/drivers/ufshcd-hisi/ff3c0000.ufs/
/sys/bus/platform/devices/soc/ff3c0000.ufs/
/sys/bus/platform/devices/ff3c0000.ufs/
So, add another What: for such files that will match the
device ufs entries, e. g.:
What: /sys/bus/platform/devices/*.ufs/

There are lots of interface, power and endpoint properties that are currently
missing any documentation.
Add a description for them.

Use <INTERFACE> instead of INTERFACE, in order for the get_abi.pl
script to be able to identify this as a wildcard.
