2019-12-17ARM: OMAP2+: Drop legacy platform data for am4 desTony Lindgren1-1/+0
We can now probe devices with ti-sysc interconnect driver and dts data. Let's drop the related platform data and custom ti,hwmods dts property. As we're just dropping data, and the early platform data init is based on the custom ti,hwmods property, we want to drop both the platform data and ti,hwmods property in a single patch. Drop legacy platform data for omaps for v5.5 This series of changes continues dropping legacy platform data for omaps. With the proper device tree configuration in place in the dts files for ti-sysc interconnect target module driver, we can drop the related platform data and legacy ti,hwmods custom property. Most of the patches in this series drop platform data and custom dts property one device class and one SoC at time. This way we can easily revert one patch at a time in case of unexpected issues if the fix is not trivial. For am335x musb, we need to first update the device tree to probe with ti-sysc interconnect target module driver. And then the following patches drop the legacy platform data. 2019-08-13ARM: dts: Fix incomplete dts data for am3 and am4 mmcTony Lindgren1-6/+26
Commit 4e27f752ab8c ("ARM: OMAP2+: Drop mmc platform data for am330x and am43xx") dropped legacy mmc platform data for am3 and am4, but missed the fact that we never updated the dts files for mmc3 that is directly on l3 interconnect instead of l4 interconnect. This leads to a situation with no legacy platform data and incomplete dts data. Let's update the mmc instances on l3 interconnect to probe properly with ti-sysc interconnect target module driver to make mmc3 work again. Let's still keep legacy "ti,hwmods" property around for v5.2 kernel and only drop it later on. Note that there is no need to use property status = "disabled" for mmc3. The default for dts is enabled, and runtime PM will idle unused instances just fine. 2018-10-18ARM: dts: am437x: Move l4 child devices to probe them with ti-syscTony Lindgren1-869/+7
With l4 interconnect hierarchy and ti-sysc interconnect target module data in place, we can simply move all the related child devices to their proper location and enable probing using ti-sysc. In general the first child device address range starts at range 0 from the ti-sysc interconnect target so the move involves adjusting the child device reg properties for that. In case of any regressions, problem devices can be reverted to probe with legacy platform data as needed by moving them back and removing the related interconnect target module node. Note that we are not yet moving dss or wkup_m3, those will be moved later after some related driver changes. Pull "Clock related dts changes for omaps for v4.16 merge window" from Tony Lindgren: This branch contains a series of dts changes from Tero Kristo to start using clkctrl clocks. Note that this branch is based on a merge of omap-for-v4.16/soc-signed and an immutable commit from Tero Kristo fe7020e64f04 ("clk: ti: omap4: clkctrl data fixes for opt-clocks") that is also in clk-next. * tag 'omap-for-v4.16/dt-clk-signed' of ssh://gitolite.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap: (57 commits) ARM: dts: dm816x: add clkctrl nodes ARM: dts: dm814x: add clkctrl nodes ARM: dts: am43xx: add clkctrl nodes ARM: dts: am33xx: add clkctrl nodes ARM: dts: dra7: add clkctrl nodes ARM: dts: omap5: add clkctrl nodes ARM: dts: omap4: add clkctrl nodes ARM: dts: dm816x: add bus functionality to base PRCM node ARM: dts: am43xx: add bus functionality to base PRCM node ARM: dts: am33xx: add bus functionality to base PRCM node ARM: dts: dra7: add bus functionality to base PRCM nodes ARM: dts: omap4: add bus functionality to base PRCM nodes ARM: dts: omap5: add bus functionality to base PRCM nodes ARM: dts: dm816x: add fck under timers1/2 ARM: dts: dm814x: add fck under timers1/2 ARM: dts: dra7: add fck under timer1 ARM: dts: am43xx: add fck under timers1/2 ARM: dts: am33xx: add fck under timers1/2 ARM: dts: omap4: add fck under timer1 ARM: dts: omap5: add fck under timer1 ...
2017-12-15ARM: dts: am3/am4/dra7/omap: Remove leading 0x and 0s from bindings notationMathieu Malaterre1-2/+2
Improve the DTS files by removing all the leading "0x" and zeros to fix the following dtc warnings: Warning (unit_address_format): Node /XXX unit name should not have leading "0x" and Warning (unit_address_format): Node /XXX unit name should not have leading 0s Converted using the following command: $ find . -type f \( -iname *.dts -o -iname *.dtsi \) -exec \ sed -i -e "s/@\([0-9a-fA-FxX\.;:#]+\)\s*{/@\L\1 {/g" \ -e "s/@0x\(.*\) {/@\1 {/g" -e "s/@0+\(.*\) {/@\1 {/g" {} +^C For simplicity, two sed expressions were used to solve each warnings separately. To make the regex expression more robust a few other issues were resolved, namely setting unit-address to lower case, and adding a whitespace before the the opening curly brace: https://elinux.org/Device_Tree_Linux#Linux_conventions This will solve as a side effect warning: Warning (simple_bus_reg): Node /XXX@<UPPER> simple-bus unit address format error, expected "<lower>" This is a follow up to commit 4c9847b7375a ("dt-bindings: Remove leading 0x from bindings notation") Reported-by: David Daney <ddaney@caviumnetworks.com> Suggested-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Mathieu Malaterre <malat@debian.org> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2017-12-11ARM: dts: am43xx: add clkctrl nodesTero Kristo1-3/+4
Add clkctrl nodes for AM43xx SoC. These are going to be acting as replacement for part of the existing clock data and the existing clkctrl hooks under hwmod data. This patch also removes any obsolete clock nodes, and reroutes all users for these to use the new clkctrl clocks instead. 2017-12-11ARM: dts: am43xx: add bus functionality to base PRCM nodeTero Kristo1-1/+4

2017-12-11ARM: dts: am43xx: add fck under timers1/2Tero Kristo1-0/+4
Add the functional clock definition for timers1/2. This is needed so that the clock rate calculations continue to function properly once am33xx transitions away from hwmod data and towards the clkctrl clocks. The operatings-points-v2 table for am4372 was merged before any user of it was present in the kernel and before the binding had been finalized. Commit 75813028bbd7 ("ARM: dts: am4372: Remove skeleton.dtsi usage") removed the skeleton.dtsi usage since we want to get rid of it. But this can cause issues when booting a kernel with a boot-loader that doesn't create a chosen node if this isn't present in the DTB since the decompressor relies on a pre-existing chosen node to be available to insert the command line and merge other ATAGS info. 2016-08-31ARM: dts: am4372: Remove skeleton.dtsi usageJavier Martinez Canillas1-2/+6
The skeleton.dtsi file was removed in ARM64 for different reasons as explained in commit ("3ebee5a2e141 arm64: dts: kill skeleton.dtsi"). These also applies to ARM and it will also allow to get rid of the following DTC warnings in the future: "Node /memory has a reg or ranges property, but no unit name" The disassembled DTB are almost the same besides an empty chosen node being removed and nodes reordered, so it shouldn't have functional changes. Since no am4372 based board had a memory node defined, a dummy node is added so the compiled DTB memory node is the same than before.
