2018-08-27ARM: dts: Include R-Car Gen1 product name in DTSI filesMagnus Damm1-1/+1
Browsing the DTS for all the R-Car SoCs with similar part numbers still makes my head hurt, so to improve the user friendliness of the 32-bit ARM DTS code base include R-Car Gen1 product names for each DTSI file. 2017-10-16ARM: dts: r8a7778: Use R-Car GPIO Gen1 fallback compat stringSimon Horman1-5/+5
Use newly added R-Car GPIO Gen1 fallback compat string in place of now deprecated non-generation specific R-Car GPIO fallback compat string in DT of r8a7778 SoC. As the driver does not match on "renesas,gpio-r8a7778" there are some run-time considerations for this patch: * When a resulting DTB is used with kernels newer than v4.14 this should not have any run-time effect as renesas,rcar-gen1-gpio is matched by the driver since commit dbd1dad2ab8f ("gpio: rcar: add gen[123] fallback compatibility strings") * However, when used with older kernels GPIO will be disabled as no compat string match will be made by the driver. The regression documented above for the new DTB with old kernel case is acceptable in my opinion. 2017-05-15ARM: dts: r8a7778: update PFC node name to pin-controllerSimon Horman1-1/+1
The device trees for Renesas SoCs use either pfc or pin-controller as the node name for the PFC device. This patch is intended to take a step towards unifying the node name used as pin-controller which appears to be the more generic of the two and thus more in keeping with the DT specs. My analysis is that this is a user-visible change to the extent that kernel logs, and sysfs entries change from fffc0000.pfc and pfc@fffc0000 to fffc0000.pin-controller and pin-controller@fffc0000. 2015-12-14ARM: shmobile: r8a7778 dtsi: Use "arm,pl390" for GICGeert Uytterhoeven1-1/+1
Replace the "arm,cortex-a9-gic" compatible value for the GIC by "arm,pl390", as the documentation states it is a PL390. This has been confirmed by reading the GICD_IIDR register, which reports 0x0000043b (PL390 = 0x00, ARM = 0x43b). This has no effect on runtime behavior, as currently the GIC driver treats both compatible values the same. 2015-12-08ARM: shmobile: r8a7778: tidyup #sound-dai-cells settingsKuninori Morimoto1-1/+6
Renesas sound driver needs #sound-dai-cells settings, but, this usage is a little bit confusable. It came from ALSA SoC historical reasons. The sound DAI naming method is different between Single/Multi DAI in the ALSA framework, and it is used for sound card matching. And this #sound-dai-cells has relationship to it. Current SoC dtsi has #sound-dai-cells = <1> as default settings (= it is assuming that board/platform has multi DAI), and board/platform side needs to overwrite it if board/platform was single DAI. This style is more confusable for users. This patch removes SoC side default settings, and force to set it by board/platform side. 2013-12-10ARM: shmobile: Use r8a7778 suffix for INTC compat stringMagnus Damm1-1/+1
Add "renesas,intc-irqpin-r8a7778" to the compatible string for the IRQ pins in case of r8a7778 INTC. This makes the INTC irqpin follow the same style as the other devices and also makes it more future proof. From Tony Lindgren: Changes needed to prepare for making omap3 device tree only: - Always build in board-generic, and add pdata quirks and auxdata support for it so we have all the pdata related quirks in the same place. - Merge of the drivers/pinctrl changes that are needed for PM to continue working on omap3 and also needed for other omaps eventually. The three pinctrl related patches have been acked by Linus Walleij and are pulled into both the pinctrl tree and this branch. - Few defconfig related changes for drivers needed. * tag 'omap-for-v3.13/quirk-signed' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap: (523 commits) ARM: configs: omap2plus_defconfig: enable dwc3 and dependencies ARM: OMAP2+: Add WLAN modules and of_serial to omap2plus_defconfig ARM: OMAP2+: Run make savedefconfig on omap2plus_defconfig to shrink it ARM: OMAP2+: Add minimal 8250 support for GPMC ARM: OMAP2+: Use pdata quirks for wl12xx for omap3 evm and zoom3 ARM: OMAP: Move DT wake-up event handling over to use pinctrl-single-omap ARM: OMAP2+: Add support for auxdata pinctrl: single: Add support for auxdata pinctrl: single: Add support for wake-up interrupts pinctrl: single: Prepare for supporting SoC specific features ARM: OMAP2+: igep0020: use display init from dss-common ARM: OMAP2+: pdata-quirks: add legacy display init for IGEPv2 board +Linux 3.12-rc4 Signed-off-by: Kevin Hilman <khilman@linaro.org>
