Remove the now empty arch_reset() from all the mach/system.h includes, and remove its callsite. Remove arm_machine_restart() as this function no longer does anything useful. For samsung platforms, remove the include of mach/system-reset.h and plat/system-reset.h from their respective mach/system.h headers as these just define their arch_reset functions. As a result, the s3c2410 and plat-samsung system-reset.h files are no longer referenced, so remove these files entirely. 2011-12-18ARM: 7205/2: sched_clock: allow sched_clock to be selected at runtimeMarc Zyngier1-13/+3
sched_clock() is yet another blocker on the road to the single image. This patch implements an idea by Russell King: http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-omap/msg49561.html Instead of asking the platform to implement both sched_clock() itself and the rollover callback, simply register a read() function, and let the ARM code care about sched_clock() itself, the conversion to ns and the rollover. sched_clock() uses this read() function as an indirection to the platform code. If the platform doesn't provide a read(), the code falls back to the jiffy counter (just like the default sched_clock). This allow some simplifications and possibly some footprint gain when multiple platforms are compiled in. Among the drawbacks, the removal of the *_fixed_sched_clock optimization which could negatively impact some platforms (sa1100, tegra, versatile and omap). Tested on 11MPCore, OMAP4 and Tegra. 2011-11-21ARM: restart: only perform setup for restart when soft-restartingRussell King1-2/+2
We only need to set the system up for a soft-restart if we're going to be doing a soft-restart. Provide a new function (soft_restart()) which does the setup and final call for this, and make platforms use it. Eliminate the call to setup_restart() from the default handler. This means that platforms arch_reset() function is no longer called with the page tables prepared for a soft-restart, and caches will still be enabled. MMP2 have the internal sram, this sram can be allocated for video, power management and secure processor. Now the sram usage is: 0xd1000000 ~ 0xd101ffff (128KB) : reserved for secure processor 0xd1020000 ~ 0xd1037fff (96KB) : for video and PM Register the internal sram's second half 96KB buffer, so that video and PM can dynamically alloc/free from it. 2011-10-25ARM: mmp: add sram allocatorLeo Yan3-1/+204
On mmp platform, there have two sram banks: audio sram and internal sram. The audio sram is mainly for audio; the internal sram is for video, wtm and power management. So add the sram allocator using genalloc to manage them. Every sram bank will register its own platform device info, after the sram allocator create the generic pool for the sram bank, the user module can use the pool's name to get the pool handler; then it can use the handler to alloc/free memory with genalloc APIs. Boards used to specify zreladdr in their Makefile.boot with zreladdr-y := x, so conflicting zreladdrs were silently overwritten. This patch changes this to zreladdr-y += x, so that we end up with multiple words in zreladdr in such a case. We can detect this later and complain if necessary. MMIO addresses are supposed to be __iomem* values, in order to let the Linux type checking work correctly. Currently, arch-mmp/time.c uses timer 0 both as a clocksource timer and as a clockevent timer, the latter by setting up a comparator interrupt to match on 'current_time + delta'. This is problematic if delta is small enough, as that can lead to 'current_time + delta' already being in the past when comparator setup has finished, leading to the requested event not triggering. As there is also a silicon issue that requires stopping a timer's counter while writing to one of its match registers, we'll switch to using two separate timers -- timer 0 as clockevent timer, which we'll start and stop on every invocation of ->set_next_event(), and timer 1 as clocksource timer, which will be free-running. This first patch enables timer 1 on boot, so that we can use it as clocksource timer.
