2013-11-28ARM: nomadik: get rid of explicit ethernet GPIO managementLinus Walleij1-32/+0
We used to set up the GPIO used for the SMC ethernet IRQ by requesting the GPIO line explicitly. As we recently established that specifying the GPIO controller as interrupt parent and requesting one of its interrupts by reference should be enough, we do away with this. From Sebastian Hasselbarth: This is a patch set based on an RFC [1][2] sent earlier to provide a common arch/arm init for DT clock providers. Currently, the call to of_clk_init(NULL) to initialize DT clock providers is spread among several mach-dirs. Since most machs require DT clocks initialized before timers, no initcall can be used. By adding of_clk_init(NULL) to arch/arm time_init(), we can remove all mach-specific .init_time hooks that basically called of_clk_init and clocksource_of_init. In contrast to the RFC version, of_clk_init(NULL) is now only called if no custom .init_time callback is set. This allows some machs to still call clock init themselves, as not all can be converted now. Therefore, this patch sets drops conversion of mach-mvebu and mach-zynq. 2013-09-29clk: nomadik: declare OF clock providerSebastian Hesselbarth1-3/+2
Common clock framework allows to register clock providers to get called on of_clk_init() by using CLK_OF_DECLARE. This converts nomadik clock provider to make use of it and get rid of the mach specific clk init call. As clocks require system reset controller base address to be initialized each clock driver checks src_base and calls new nomadik_src_init if required. Instead of using bit-banged I2C, let's use the actual I2C driver in the kernel. Since the I2C block may be communicating with things like the PMIC, we need to select it from the Kconfig just like the bit-banged adapter is selected today. 2013-03-07ARM: nomadik: convert to multiplatformLinus Walleij1-3/+19
This converts the Nomadik to run in multiplatform mode, including the defconfig change. After this the "uImage" target in the kernel tree will no longer work, but we do not care about this. Instead we generate the uImage from the zImage using mkimage or update the bootloader to accept bootz. Some minor updates to the defconfig are done as part of this. Support basic device tree boot on the Nomadik. Implement the support in the cpu file with the intent of deleting the board files later. At this stage IRQ controllers, system timer, l2x0 cache, UARTs and thus console boot is fully functional. Patch out the code adding devices by initcalls for now so as not to disturb the boot. 2013-01-03ARM: nomadik: bump the IRQ numbers againLinus Walleij1-39/+39
Bump the IRQ numbers from offset at 1 (right above NO_IRQ) to 32. This is the painful way to learn that if you're using SPARSE_IRQ and avoid to define .nr_irqs in your machine, the first 16 IRQs will be pre-allocated, and the IRQdomain code (as the VIC core code before it) will then assume that all IRQ descriptors are pre-allocated, and 16 of them are - by somebody else. So mapping the IRQs will fail in irq_create_mapping(). Moving the offset upward rids us of this problem. Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. 2012-11-05ARM: plat-nomadik: move MTU, kill plat-nomadikLinus Walleij2-5/+3
This moves the MTU timer driver from arch/arm/plat-nomadik to drivers/clocksource and moves the header file to the platform_data directory. As this moves the last file being compiled to an object out of arch/arm/plat-nomadik, we have to "turn off the light" and delete the plat-nomadik directory, because it is not allowed to have an empty Makefile in a plat-* directory. This is probably also a desired side effect of depopulating the arch/arm directory of drivers. Luckily we have just deleted all the <plat/*> include files prior to this so by moving the last one we may delete the directory. After this all the Ux500 and Nomadik device drivers live outside of the arch/arm hierarchy.
