2011-07-02ARM: pm: allow suspend finisher to return error codesRussell King2-3/+3
There are SoCs where attempting to enter a low power state is ignored, and the CPU continues executing instructions with all state preserved. It is over-complex at that point to disable the MMU just to call the resume path. Instead, allow the suspend finisher to return error codes to abort suspend in this circumstance, where the cpu_suspend internals will then unwind the saved state on the stack. Also omit the tlb flush as no changes to the page tables will have happened. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

2011-06-24ARM: pm: pxa: move cpu_suspend into C codeRussell King6-59/+33
We don't need a veneer for cpu_suspend, it can be called directly from C code now. Move it into the PXA CPU suspend functions, along with the accumulator register saving/restoring. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2011-06-24ARM: pm: move cpu_init() call into core codeRussell King1-1/+0
As we have core code dealing with CPU suspend/resume, we can re-initialize the CPUs exception banked registers via that code rather than having platforms deal with that level of detail. So, move the call to cpu_init() out of platform code into core code. 2011-06-24ARM: pm: convert cpu_suspend() to a normal functionRussell King1-3/+10
cpu_suspend() has a weird calling method which makes it only possible to call from assembly code: it returns with a modified stack pointer to finish the suspend, but on resume, it 'returns' via a provided pointer. We can make cpu_suspend() appear to be a normal function merely by swapping the resume pointer argument and the link register. Do so, and update all callers to take account of this more traditional behaviour. Acked-by: Frank Hofmann <frank.hofmann@tomtom.com> Tested-by: Kevin Hilman <khilman@ti.com> Acked-by: Jean Pihet <j-pihet@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

2011-05-20ARM: 6910/1: MTD: physmap: let set_vpp() pass a platform_device instead of a map_infoMarc Zyngier2-2/+2
The set_vpp() method provided by physmap passes a map_info back to the platform code, which has little relevance as far as the platform is concerned (this parameter is completely unused). Instead, pass the platform_device, which can be used in the pismo driver to retrieve some important information in a nicer way, instead of the hack that was in place. The empty set_vpp function in board-at572d940hf_ek.c is left untouched, as the board/SoC is scheduled for removal. 2011-05-12ARM: use ARM_DMA_ZONE_SIZE to adjust the zone sizesRussell King2-33/+1
Rather than each platform providing its own function to adjust the zone sizes, use the new ARM_DMA_ZONE_SIZE definition to perform this adjustment. This ensures that the actual DMA zone size and the ISA_DMA_THRESHOLD/MAX_DMA_ADDRESS definitions are consistent with each other, and moves this complexity out of the platform code. 2011-05-12ARM: Replace platform definition of ISA_DMA_THRESHOLD/MAX_DMA_ADDRESSRussell King1-2/+1
The values of ISA_DMA_THRESHOLD and MAX_DMA_ADDRESS are related; one is the physical/bus address, the other is the virtual address. Both need to be kept in step, so rather than having platforms define both, allow them to define a single macro which sets both of these macros appropraitely. 2011-05-07ARM: zImage: remove the static qualifier from global data variablesNicolas Pitre1-3/+3
To be able to relocate the .bss section at run time independently from the rest of the code, we must make sure that no GOTOFF relocations are used with .bss symbols. This usually means that no global variables can be marked static unless they're also const. Let's remove the static qualifier from current offenders, or turn them into const variables when possible. Next commit will ensure the build fails if one of those is reintroduced due to otherwise enforced coding standards for the kernel.
