VExpress modularization This series enables building various Versatile Express platform drivers as modules. The primary target is the Fast Model FVP which is supported in Android. As Android is moving towards their GKI, or generic kernel, the hardware support has to be in modules. Currently ARCH_VEXPRESS enables several built-in only drivers. Some of these are needed, but some are only needed for older 32-bit VExpress platforms and can just be disabled. * tag 'vexpress-modules-for-soc-v2' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/robh/linux: ARM: vexpress: Don't select VEXPRESS_CONFIG bus: vexpress-config: Support building as module vexpress: Move setting master site to vexpress-config bus bus: vexpress-config: simplify config bus probing bus: vexpress-config: Merge vexpress-syscfg into vexpress-config mfd: vexpress-sysreg: Support building as a module mfd: vexpress-sysreg: Use devres API variants mfd: vexpress-sysreg: Drop unused syscon child devices mfd: vexpress-sysreg: Drop selecting CONFIG_CLKSRC_MMIO clk: vexpress-osc: Support building as a module clk: vexpress-osc: Use the devres clock API variants clk: versatile: Only enable SP810 on 32-bit by default clk: versatile: Rework kconfig structure amba: Retry adding deferred devices at late_initcall arm64: vexpress: Don't select CONFIG_POWER_RESET_VEXPRESS ARM: vexpress: Move vexpress_flags_set() into arch code Signed-off-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
2020-05-05clk: versatile: Rework kconfig structureRob Herring1-1/+0
CONFIG_COMMON_CLK_VERSATILE doesn't really do anything other than hiding Arm Ltd reference platform clock drivers. It is both selected by the platforms that need it and has a 'depends on' for those platforms. Let's drop the selects and convert CONFIG_COMMON_CLK_VERSATILE into a menuconfig entry. With this make CONFIG_ICST visible. Move the 'select REGMAP_MMIO' to the drivers that require it (SP810 did not). This also has the side effect of enabling CONFIG_ICST for COMPILE_TEST as it was not visible before. 2020-04-16ARM: realview: Drop unneeded select of multi-platform featuresGeert Uytterhoeven1-8/+0
Support for ARM Ltd. RealView systems depends on ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM, which selects USE_OF. Support for ARMv6 and ARMv7 variants depends on ARCH_MULTI_V6 or ARCH_MULTI_V7, which both select ARCH_MULTI_V6_V7 and thus MIGHT_HAVE_CACHE_L2X0. Support for ARMv7 variants depends on ARCH_MULTI_V7, which selects HAVE_SMP. Hence there is no need for the affected RealView-specific symbols to select any of them. 2015-12-15ARM: realview: add an DT SMP boot methodLinus Walleij3-1/+94
This adds an SMP boot method for the ARM RealView reference designs. We also select HAVE_SMP by default and make it use SMP_ON_UP so we only need to support one single kernel across the RealView reference designs when using DT. The RealViews need to have the SCU (Snoop Control Unit) activated on boot, and this is now done by looking up its address from the device tree and initializing it and counting the available cores. The RealViews boot by using a magic address register in the system controller (SYS_FLAGS) to store the boot address, the ROM will then read this register to the PC when the CPUs are taken out of WFI. This code uses a handle to the syscon regmap to access this register. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2015-12-15ARM: realview: select SP810 and ICST for the DT variantLinus Walleij1-0/+2

2015-12-15ARM: realview: remove private barrier implementationArnd Bergmann4-10/+13
The realview barrier implementation tries to avoid calling outer_sync in order to not lock up as a result of a bug in the l220 cache controller. This gets in the way of the multiplatform support, but we can still remove it if we make sure that the outer_sync function never gets called, by replacing the function pointer with NULL, right after initialization. 2015-12-15ARM: realview: don't map undefined PCI registersArnd Bergmann2-16/+0

2015-12-15ARM: realview: remove sparsemem hackArnd Bergmann2-67/+2
The realview-pbx platform has an elaborate way of avoiding the use of highmem by redefining its phys_to_virt function. In practice this doesn't help all that much, and it gets in the way of doing multiplatform builds for realview. This removes the feature and kills off the mach/memory.h file for realview. We also lose the ability to do sparsemem with this patch, but that should be put back into place for generic multiplatform configurations, to save a little memory on PBX. 2015-02-28net: smc91x: use run-time configuration on all ARM machinesArnd Bergmann2-1/+8
The smc91x driver traditionally gets configured at compile-time for whichever hardware it runs on. This no longer works on ARM as we continue to move to building all-in-one kernels. Most ARM configurations with this driver already use run-time configuration through DT or through platform_data, but a few have not been converted yet. I've checked all ARM boards that use this driver in their legacy board files, and converted the ones that were using compile-time configuration in smc91x.h to behave like the other ones and provide the interrupt polarity along with the MMIO configuration (width, stride) at platform device creation time. In particular, these combinations were previously selectable in Kconfig but in fact broken: - sa1100 assabet plus pleb - msm combined with any other armv6/v7 platform - pxa-idp combined with any non-DMA pxa variant - LogicPD PXA270 combined with any other pxa - nomadik combined with any other armv4/v5 platform, e.g. versatile. None of these seem critical enough to warrant a backport to stable, but it would be nice to clean this up for good. 2014-07-29ARM: 8113/1: remove remaining definitions of PLAT_PHYS_OFFSET from <mach/memory.h>Uwe Kleine-König1-9/+0
The platforms selecting NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H defined the start address of their physical memory in the respective <mach/memory.h>. With ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT=y (which is quite common today) this is useless though because the definition isn't used but determined dynamically. So remove the definitions from all <mach/memory.h> and provide the Kconfig symbol PHYS_OFFSET with the respective defaults in case ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT isn't enabled. This allows to drop the dependency of PHYS_OFFSET on !NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H which prevents compiling an integrator nommu-kernel. (CONFIG_PAGE_OFFSET which has "default PHYS_OFFSET if !MMU" expanded to "0x" because CONFIG_PHYS_OFFSET doesn't exist as INTEGRATOR selects NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H.) 2014-06-27video: move Versatile CLCD helpersLinus Walleij1-1/+1
This moves the Versatile-specific helper code and panel database down into the drivers/video folder next to the CLCD driver itself, preserving the config symbol but also moving the header to platform data. This is necessary to rid the Integrator of this final <plat/*> inclusion dependency and get us one less user of the plat-versatile folder. 2014-06-05Merge branch 'for-linus' of git://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/~rmk/linux-arm into nextLinus Torvalds6-31/+38
Pull ARM updates from Russell King: - Major clean-up of the L2 cache support code. The existing mess was becoming rather unmaintainable through all the additions that others have done over time. This turns it into a much nicer structure, and implements a few performance improvements as well. - Clean up some of the CP15 control register tweaks for alignment support, moving some code and data into alignment.c - DMA properties for ARM, from Santosh and reviewed by DT people. This adds DT properties to specify bus translations we can't discover automatically, and to indicate whether devices are coherent. - Hibernation support for ARM - Make ftrace work with read-only text in modules - add suspend support for PJ4B CPUs - rework interrupt masking for undefined instruction handling, which allows us to enable interrupts earlier in the handling of these exceptions. - support for big endian page tables - fix stacktrace support to exclude stacktrace functions from the trace, and add save_stack_trace_regs() implementation so that kprobes can record stack traces. - Add support for the Cortex-A17 CPU. - Remove last vestiges of ARM710 support. - Removal of ARM "meminfo" structure, finally converting us solely to memblock to handle the early memory initialisation. * 'for-linus' of git://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/~rmk/linux-arm: (142 commits) ARM: ensure C page table setup code follows assembly code (part II) ARM: ensure C page table setup code follows assembly code ARM: consolidate last remaining open-coded alignment trap enable ARM: remove global cr_no_alignment ARM: remove CPU_CP15 conditional from alignment.c ARM: remove unused adjust_cr() function ARM: move "noalign" command line option to alignment.c ARM: provide common method to clear bits in CPU control register ARM: 8025/1: Get rid of meminfo ARM: 8060/1: mm: allow sub-architectures to override PCI I/O memory type ARM: 8066/1: correction for ARM patch 8031/2 ARM: 8049/1: ftrace/add save_stack_trace_regs() implementation ARM: 8065/1: remove last use of CONFIG_CPU_ARM710 ARM: 8062/1: Modify ldrt fixup handler to re-execute the userspace instruction ARM: 8047/1: rwsem: use asm-generic rwsem implementation ARM: l2c: trial at enabling some Cortex-A9 optimisations ARM: l2c: add warnings for stuff modifying aux_ctrl register values ARM: l2c: print a warning with L2C-310 caches if the cache size is modified ARM: l2c: remove old .set_debug method ARM: l2c: kill L2X0_AUX_CTRL_MASK before anyone else makes use of this ...

2014-03-21ARM: realview: fix sparsemem buildArnd Bergmann1-0/+2
Commit b713aa0b15 "ARM: fix asm/memory.h build error" broke some configurations on mach-realview with sparsemem enabled, which is missing a definition of PHYS_OFFSET: arch/arm/include/asm/memory.h:268:42: error: 'PHYS_OFFSET' undeclared (first use in this function) #define PHYS_PFN_OFFSET ((unsigned long)(PHYS_OFFSET >> PAGE_SHIFT)) arch/arm/include/asm/dma-mapping.h:104:9: note: in expansion of macro 'PHYS_PFN_OFFSET' return PHYS_PFN_OFFSET + dma_to_pfn(dev, *dev->dma_mask); An easy workaround is for realview to define PHYS_OFFSET itself, in the same way we define it for platforms that don't have a private __virt_to_phys function. While <mach/timex.h> isn't used for multi-platform builds since long it still is for "normal" builds. As the previous patches fix all sites to not make use of this per-platform file, it can go now for good also for platforms that are not (yet) converted to multi-platform. While at it there are no users of CLOCK_TICK_RATE any more, so also drop the dummy #define. Signed-off-by: Uwe Kleine-König <u.kleine-koenig@pengutronix.de>
