Pull ARM SoC cleanups from Arnd Bergmann: "A large number of cleanups, all over the platforms. This is dominated largely by the Samsung platforms (s3c, s5p, exynos) and a few of the others moving code out of arch/arm into more appropriate subsystems. The clocksource and irqchip drivers are now abstracted to the point where platforms that are already cleaned up do not need to even specify the driver they use, it can all get configured from the device tree as we do for normal device drivers. The clocksource changes basically touch every single platform in the process. We further clean up the use of platform specific header files here, with the goal of turning more of the platforms over to being "multiplatform" enabled, which implies that they cannot expose their headers to architecture independent code any more. It is expected that no functional changes are part of the cleanup. As per the Exynos5250 User Manual: When there are pending interrupt events, WFI/WFE instruction are ignored. To cancel the power-down sequence follow these steps: 1) Disable system power-down using CENTRAL_SEQ_CONFIGURATION register 2) Clear WAKEUP_STAT register 3) Enable interrupt service routine for CPU Code for early wakeup for exynos already exists. Remove the panic on suspend failure, clear the wakeup state register and return 1 from cpu_suspend to indicate a failed suspend (to a user daemon). Older Samsung SoCs have similar panics and I have removed them all. Haven't touched the S3C2410 sleep code. 2013-01-16ARM: S3C64XX: Fix build error with CONFIG_S3C_DEV_FB disabledTomasz Figa1-0/+2
If there is no board selecting CONFIG_S3C_DEV_FB enabled, build will fail on arch/arm/mach-s3c64xx/pm.c, where s3c_device_fb is referenced. This patch adds ifdef guard around the code making it compile only when CONFIG_S3C_DEV_FB is enabled. 2013-01-13pl080.h: moved from arm/include/asm/hardware to include/linux/amba/Alessandro Rubini1-1/+1
The header is used by drivers/dma/amba-pl08x.c, which can be compiled under x86, where PL080 exists under a PCI-to-AMBA bridge. This patche moves it where it can be accessed by other architectures, and fixes all users. Recently the regs-syscon-power.h header was moved from mach-s3c64xx/include/mach to mach-s3c64xx/, but cpuidle.c was not updated to include the header from its new location, which caused build error with CONFIG_CPU_IDLE enabled. CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. I2S controller has an internal mux for RCLK source clks. The list of source clk names were passed through platform data in non-dt case. Register the existing RCLK source clocks with clkdev using generic connection id. This is required as part of adding DT support for I2S controller driver. Previously, the ASoC 'platform' (PCM/DMA) object was instantiated via a platform_device. This didn't represent the hardware well, since there was no separate hardware associated with this platform_device; it was a virtual device with sole purpose to call snd_soc_register_platform(). This change removes the platform_device completely. Each Samsung DAI now registers the ASoC 'platform' itself. Machine drivers are adjusted for the new 'platform' name. 2012-11-08ARM: EXYNOS: Make s3c_device_i2c0 always use id 0Tomasz Figa1-4/+0
This patch removes compatibility definitions added long time ago when clock ids were used instead of devnames that were needed for platforms with only one i2c controller with id -1 (some s3c24xx's). Because currently devname field is used for matching device instances to clocks and if no devname is provided (as in clock-s3c2412.c and common-s3c2443.c for i2c clock, both in arch/arm/mach-s3c24xx) the clock is being matched only by name, so s3c_device_i2c0 can always have id 0. This patch solves the issue with i2c0 broken on boards where its the only i2c controller used, tested on Origen.
