2007-07-02[ARM] 4454/1: Use word accesses in Versatile PCI config readsAndrzej Zaborowski1-1/+4
ARM Versatile PCI config reads of one byte width have the lowest two bits of the address cleared and result in reading from a wrong place in the config space. This change is to use word size accesses like it is done for halfword reads. Byte reads are used for retrieving the IRQ number of a PCI device and the problem was not exposed until 2.6.20 because the value read was discarded in drivers/pci/setup-irq.c (recently fixed). period This provides a 63 bit clock counter guaranteed to be monotonic over a period of 35583 days instead of a clock wrap every 179 seconds, as long as sched_clock() is called at least once every 89 seconds. This should not be a problem in practice, although a kernel timer could be scheduled every 80 seconds for example simply to call sched_clock() making sure top bits are always synchronized if need be. I guess this is a cut/paste error from the the halfword code which uses aligned word access+shift+mask. 2006-07-11[ARM] Allow Versatile to be built for AB and PBRussell King1-7/+4
If a configuration was chosen to support both the Versatile AB and PB boards, the result would write to registers not available on the PB version of the board. Resolve this by using machine_is_xxx(). Also, for the CLCD, despite how the code looks, both the AB and PB access the same location to control the clock rate - it's just called something different between the two board versions. Patch from Catalin Marinas The initial code did not configure the inbound memory windows for direct master access to the SDRAM. This patch creates a 1:1 mapping between the Versatile/PB PCI memory windows and its SDRAM. Note that an updated FPGA image is needed for Versatile/PB since the original windows were 1MB and not able to cover the whole SDRAM (now extended to 256MB). 2005-10-30[PATCH] fix missing includesTim Schmielau1-0/+1
I recently picked up my older work to remove unnecessary #includes of sched.h, starting from a patch by Dave Jones to not include sched.h from module.h. This reduces the number of indirect includes of sched.h by ~300. Another ~400 pointless direct includes can be removed after this disentangling (patch to follow later). However, quite a few indirect includes need to be fixed up for this. In order to feed the patches through -mm with as little disturbance as possible, I've split out the fixes I accumulated up to now (complete for i386 and x86_64, more archs to follow later) and post them before the real patch. This way this large part of the patch is kept simple with only adding #includes, and all hunks are independent of each other. So if any hunk rejects or gets in the way of other patches, just drop it. My scripts will pick it up again in the next round. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
