2006-12-04[PATCH] m68knommu: remove __rom_end from 68360 startup codeGreg Ungerer1-1/+2
Remove use of __rom_end symbol all together. This helps clean out the miscellaneous symbols lying around in the m68knommu linker script. Signed-off-by: Greg Ungerer <gerg@uclinux.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2006-12-04[PATCH] m68knommu: auto detect memory size on M5208EVB boardMichael Broughton1-0/+20
Here is a small patch to automatically detect the DRAM size on m520x. It was generated against 2.6.17-uc0, and tested on an Intec 5208 dev board. 2006-12-04[PATCH] m68knommu: add SHM supportDavid Wu1-1/+22
It turns out SHMAT, SHMDT, SHMGET and SHMCTL support in sys_ipc() for m68knommu in 2.6 kernel(uClinux-dist-20060803 release) is missing. 2006-11-20[PATCH] m68knommu: fix up for the irq_handler_t changesGreg Ungerer3-11/+10
Switch to using irq_handler_t for interrupt function handler pointers. Change name of m68knommu's irq_hanlder_t data structure so it doesn't clash with the common type (include/linux/interrupt.h). Signed-off-by: Greg Ungerer <gerg@uclinux.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

2006-10-03Attack of "the the"s in archMatt LaPlante1-1/+1
The patch below corrects multiple occurances of "the the" typos across several files, both in source comments and KConfig files. There is no actual code changed, only text. Note this only affects the /arch directory, and I believe I could find many more elsewhere. :) Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de>
2006-10-02[PATCH] provide kernel_execve on all architecturesArnd Bergmann1-0/+15
This adds the new kernel_execve function on all architectures that were using _syscall3() to implement execve. The implementation uses code from the _syscall3 macros provided in the unistd.h header file. I don't have cross-compilers for any of these architectures, so the patch is untested with the exception of i386. Most architectures can probably implement this in a nicer way in assembly or by combining it with the sys_execve implementation itself, but this should do it for now. 2006-10-02[PATCH] nsproxy: move init_nsproxy into kernel/nsproxy.cSerge E. Hallyn1-2/+0

2006-10-02[PATCH] namespaces: add nsproxySerge E. Hallyn1-0/+2
This patch adds a nsproxy structure to the task struct. Later patches will move the fs namespace pointer into this structure, and introduce a new utsname namespace into the nsproxy. The vserver and openvz functionality, then, would be implemented in large part by virtualizing/isolating more and more resources into namespaces, each contained in the nsproxy. 2006-10-01[PATCH] kill wall_jiffiesAtsushi Nemoto1-6/+1
With 2.6.18-rc4-mm2, now wall_jiffies will always be the same as jiffies. So we can kill wall_jiffies completely. This is just a cleanup and logically should not change any real behavior except for one thing: RTC updating code in (old) ppc and xtensa use a condition "jiffies - wall_jiffies == 1". This condition is never met so I suppose it is just a bug. I just remove that condition only instead of kill the whole "if" block. 2006-09-29[PATCH] simplify update_times (avoid jiffies/jiffies_64 aliasing problem)Atsushi Nemoto1-1/+1
Pass ticks to do_timer() and update_times(), and adjust x86_64 and s390 timer interrupt handler with this change. Currently update_times() calculates ticks by "jiffies - wall_jiffies", but callers of do_timer() should know how many ticks to update. Passing ticks get rid of this redundant calculation. Also there are another redundancy pointed out by Martin Schwidefsky. This cleanup make a barrier added by 5aee405c662ca644980c184774277fc6d0769a84 needless. So this patch removes it. As a bonus, this cleanup make wall_jiffies can be removed easily, since now wall_jiffies is always synced with jiffies. (This patch does not really remove wall_jiffies. It would be another cleanup patch) Signed-off-by: Atsushi Nemoto <anemo@mba.ocn.ne.jp> Cc: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com> Cc: "Eric W. 2006-06-27[PATCH] m68knommu: remove useless compiler argsPhilipe De Muyter1-10/+11
Here is a small patch that made my kernel .text segment shrink by 8k IIRC on my 5272-based board, by removing `-Wa,-S' from CFLAGS. The `-Wa,-S' option prevents `gas' from using short forms of jsr. Without it, `gas' replaces `jsr xxx.l' (6 bytes) by `jsr xxx@pc' (4 bytes) when possible. On 5272, both forms are equally fast. The `-Wa,-m5307' option is useless, because gcc already gives it to `gas' from the `-m5307' option. Signed-off-by: Greg Ungerer <gerg@uclinux.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
