2011-10-28compat: sync compat_stats with statfs.Eric W. Biederman1-1/+2
This was found by inspection while tracking a similar bug in compat_statfs64, that has been fixed in mainline since decemeber. - This fixes a bug where not all of the f_spare fields were cleared on mips and s390. - Add the f_flags field to struct compat_statfs - Copy f_flags to userspace in case someone cares. - Use __clear_user to copy the f_spare field to userspace to ensure that all of the elements of f_spare are cleared. On some architectures f_spare is has 5 ints and on some architectures f_spare only has 4 ints. Which makes the previous technique of clearing each int individually broken. I don't expect anyone actually uses the old statfs system call anymore but if they do let them benefit from having the compat and the native version working the same. Signed-off-by: Eric W. 2010-09-14compat: Make compat_alloc_user_space() incorporate the access_ok()H. Peter Anvin1-1/+1
compat_alloc_user_space() expects the caller to independently call access_ok() to verify the returned area. A missing call could introduce problems on some architectures. This patch incorporates the access_ok() check into compat_alloc_user_space() and also adds a sanity check on the length. The existing compat_alloc_user_space() implementations are renamed arch_compat_alloc_user_space() and are used as part of the implementation of the new global function. This patch assumes NULL will cause __get_user()/__put_user() to either fail or access userspace on all architectures. This should be followed by checking the return value of compat_access_user_space() for NULL in the callers, at which time the access_ok() in the callers can also be removed. 2010-03-12improve sys_newuname() for compat architecturesChristoph Hellwig1-1/+2
On an architecture that supports 32-bit compat we need to override the reported machine in uname with the 32-bit value. Instead of doing this separately in every architecture introduce a COMPAT_UTS_MACHINE define in <asm/compat.h> and apply it directly in sys_newuname(). 2009-05-14MIPS: Do not include seccomp.h from compat.hAtsushi Nemoto1-1/+0
The compat.h does not need seccomp.h since TIF_32BIT was moved to thread_info.h This fixes a build error of 64-bit kernel without CONFIG_SECCOMP. Signed-off-by: Atsushi Nemoto <anemo@mba.ocn.ne.jp> Acked-by: : David Daney <ddaney@caviumnetworks.com> Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
2009-03-08MIPS: compat: Implement is_compat_task.Ralf Baechle1-0/+7
This is a build fix required after "x86-64: seccomp: fix 32/64 syscall hole" (commit 5b1017404aea6d2e552e991b3fd814d839e9cd67). MIPS doesn't have the issue that was fixed for x86-64 by that patch. This also doesn't solve the N32 issue which is that N32 seccomp processes will be treated as non-compat processes thus only have access to N64 syscalls.
