Implement primitives necessary for the 4th level folding, add walks of p4d level where appropriate, replace 5leve-fixup.h with pgtable-nop4d.h and drop usage of __ARCH_USE_5LEVEL_HACK. 2019-11-22mips: drop __pXd_offset() macros that duplicate pXd_index() onesMike Rapoport1-1/+1
The __pXd_offset() macros are identical to the pXd_index() macros and there is no point to keep both of them. All architectures define and use pXd_index() so let's keep only those to make mips consistent with the rest of the kernel. 2019-07-21MIPS: Add partial 32-bit huge page supportDaniel Silsby1-0/+20
This adds initial support for huge pages to 32-bit MIPS systems. Systems with extended addressing enabled (EVA,XPA,Alchemy/Netlogic) are not yet supported. With huge pages enabled, this implementation will increase page table memory overhead to match that of a 64-bit MIPS system. However, the cache-friendliness of page table walks is not affected significantly. 2017-06-08MIPS: mm: fixed mappings: correct initialisationMarcin Nowakowski1-3/+3
fixrange_init operates at PMD-granularity and expects the addresses to be PMD-size aligned, but currently that might not be the case for PKMAP_BASE unless it is defined properly, so ensure a correct alignment is used before passing the address to fixrange_init. fixed mappings: only align the start address that is passed to fixrange_init rather than the value before adding the size, as we may end up with uninitialised upper part of the range. 2011-07-25MIPS: Limit fixrange_init() to the FIXMAP regionKevin Cernekee1-1/+1
fixrange_init() allocates page tables for all addresses higher than FIXADDR_TOP. On processors that override the default FIXADDR_TOP address of 0xfffe_0000, this can consume up to 4 pages (1 page per 4MB) for pgd's that are never used. 2006-10-21[MIPS] Fix aliasing bug in copy_to_user_page / copy_from_user_pageRalf Baechle1-3/+4
The current implementation uses a sequence of a cacheflush and a copy. This is racy in case of a multithreaded debuggee and renders GDB virtually unusable. Aside this fixes a performance hog rendering access to /proc/cmdline very slow and resulting in a enough cache stalls for the 34K AP/SP programming model to make the bare metal code on the non-Linux VPE miss RT deadlines. The main part of this patch was originally written by Ralf Baechle; Atushi Nemoto did the the debugging. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
