2014-09-24parisc: Update defconfigs which were missing CONFIG_NET.David S. Miller1-0/+1
Commit df568d8e ("scsi: Use 'depends' with LIBFC instead of 'select'.") removed what happened to be the only instance of 'select NET'. Defconfigs that were relying on the select now lack networking support. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-09-24parisc: Set CONFIG_NET=y in defconfigsMichal Marek1-0/+1
Commit 5d6be6a5 ("scsi_netlink : Make SCSI_NETLINK dependent on NET instead of selecting NET") removed what happened to be the only instance of 'select NET'. Defconfigs that were relying on the select now lack networking support. 2014-07-27staging: silicom: remove driverKristina Martšenko1-1/+0
The driver hasn't been cleaned up and it doesn't look like anyone is working on it anymore (including the original author). So remove it. If someone wants to work on cleaning the driver up and moving it out of staging, this commit can be reverted. In addition, since this removes the CONFIG_NET_VENDOR_SILICOM config symbol, remove the symbol from all defconfig files that reference it. 2014-05-28USB: remove CONFIG_USB_DEBUG from defconfig filesGreg Kroah-Hartman2-2/+0
Now that CONFIG_USB_DEBUG is gone, remove it from a number of defconfig files that were enabling it. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2014-05-27USB: delete CONFIG_USB_DEVICEFS from defconfigNaoki MATSUMOTO2-2/+0

2013-11-07parisc: add generic 32- and 64-bit defconfigsHelge Deller2-0/+674
New defconfigs which should be able to boot on any 32/64bit machine. Many drivers are selected to be compiled-in to avoid the need for an additional initrd and still being able to boot. Signed-off-by: Helge Deller <deller@gmx.de>
2013-10-19parisc: enable DEVTMPFS, DEVTMPFS_MOUNT and BLK_DEV_INITRD in defconfigsHelge Deller6-0/+14
Latest udev requires that DEVTMPFS and DEVTMPFS_MOUNT are enabled, else initrd will fail to find root filesystem. Enable missing BLK_DEV_INITRD for B180 and C3000 machines. Signed-off-by: Helge Deller <deller@gmx.de>

2011-01-20kconfig: rename CONFIG_EMBEDDED to CONFIG_EXPERTDavid Rientjes2-2/+2
The meaning of CONFIG_EMBEDDED has long since been obsoleted; the option is used to configure any non-standard kernel with a much larger scope than only small devices. This patch renames the option to CONFIG_EXPERT in init/Kconfig and fixes references to the option throughout the kernel. A new CONFIG_EMBEDDED option is added that automatically selects CONFIG_EXPERT when enabled and can be used in the future to isolate options that should only be considered for embedded systems (RISC architectures, SLOB, etc). Calling the option "EXPERT" more accurately represents its intention: only expert users who understand the impact of the configuration changes they are making should enable it. 2007-04-28libata/IDE: remove combined mode quirkJeff Garzik1-1/+0
Both old-IDE and libata should be able handle all controllers and devices found using normal resource reservation methods. This eliminates the awful, low-performing split-driver configuration where old-IDE drove the PATA portion of a PCI device, in PIO-only mode, and libata drove the SATA portion of the /same/ PCI device, in DMA mode. Typically vendors would ship SATA hard drive / PATA optical configuration, which would lend itself to slow (PIO-only) CD-ROM performance. For Intel users running in combined mode, it is now wholly dependent on your driver choice (potentially link order, if you compile both drivers in) whether old-IDE or libata will drive your hardware. In either case, you will get full performance from both SATA and PATA ports now, without having to pass a kernel command line parameter. Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jeff@garzik.org>
2006-03-30[PARISC] Enabled some NLS modules in a500, b180 and c3000 defconfigsStuart Brady3-14/+14

2005-06-29[PATCH] Serial: Split 8250 port table (part 2)Russell King4-4/+4
Remove legacy ISA serial ports for Accent, Boca, Fourport, Hub6 and MCA from the architecture specific serial.h include. The only ports which remain in asm-*/serial.h are the platform specific entries. These should really be converted by platform maintainers to use a platform device, such as can be found in arch/arm/mach-footbridge/isa.c Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2005-04-16Linux-2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds4-0/+3866
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
