2017-01-24treewide: Consolidate get_dma_ops() implementationsBart Van Assche1-1/+1
Introduce a new architecture-specific get_arch_dma_ops() function that takes a struct bus_type * argument. Add get_dma_ops() in <linux/dma-mapping.h>. 2016-07-21powerpc/64: Move MMU backend selection out of platform codeBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-0/+2
We move it into early_mmu_init() based on firmware features. For PS3, we have to move the setting of these into early_init_devtree(). Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>
2014-01-15powerpc: Delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>Paul Gortmaker1-1/+0
None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. The one instance where we add an include for init.h covers off a case where that file was implicitly getting it from another header which itself didn't need it. 2013-02-15powerpc/ps3: Add macro PS3_VERBOSE_RESULTGeoff Levand1-1/+1
To allow more control of the verbosity of ps3_result() add a check for the preprocessor macro PS3_VERBOSE_RESULT that builds a verbose verion of the ps3_result() routine. Signed-off-by: Geoff Levand <geoff@infradead.org> Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>

2009-06-15ps3: Replace direct file operations by callbackGeert Uytterhoeven1-0/+7
Currently the FLASH database is updated by the kernel using file operations, meant for userspace only. While this works for us because copy_{from,to}_user() on powerpc can handle kernel pointers, this is unportable and a bad example. Replace the file operations by callbacks, registered by the ps3flash driver. 2009-01-16powerpc/ps3: Use dma_addr_t down through the stackStephen Rothwell1-4/+4
Push the dma_addr_t type usage all the way down to where the actual values are manipulated. Now that u64 is "unsigned long long", this removes warnings like: arch/powerpc/platforms/ps3/system-bus.c:532: warning: passing argument 4 of 'ps3_dma_map' from incompatible pointer type arch/powerpc/platforms/ps3/system-bus.c:649: warning: passing argument 4 of 'ps3_dma_map' from incompatible pointer type Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Acked-by: Geoff Levand <geoffrey.levand@am.sony.com> Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>

2009-01-08mtd/ps3vram: Add ps3vram driver for accessing video RAM as MTDJim Paris1-0/+1
Add ps3vram driver, which exposes unused video RAM on the PS3 as a MTD device suitable for storage or swap. Fast data transfer is achieved using a local cache in system RAM and DMA transfers via the GPU. 2008-12-16powerpc/ps3: Add sub-match id modalias supportGeert Uytterhoeven1-27/+26
commit 059e4938f8b060b10c4352e6c45739473bc73267 ("powerpc/ps3: Add a sub-match id to ps3_system_bus") forgot to update the module alias support: - Add the sub-match ids to the module aliases, so udev can distinguish between different types of sub-devices. - Rename PS3_MODULE_ALIAS_GRAPHICS to PS3_MODULE_ALIAS_GPU_FB, as ps3fb binds to the "FB" sub-device. 2008-11-19powerpc/ps3: Replace the flip_ctl logic in ps3av and ps3fb by a mutexGeert Uytterhoeven1-0/+3
Introduce ps3_gpu_mutex to synchronizes GPU-related operations, like: - invoking the L1GPU_CONTEXT_ATTRIBUTE_FB_BLIT command using the lv1_gpu_context_attribute() hypervisor call, - handling the PS3AV_CID_AVB_PARAM packet in the PS3 A/V Settings driver. 2008-08-04powerpc: Move include files to arch/powerpc/include/asmStephen Rothwell1-0/+519
from include/asm-powerpc. This is the result of a mkdir arch/powerpc/include/asm git mv include/asm-powerpc/* arch/powerpc/include/asm Followed by a few documentation/comment fixups and a couple of places where <asm-powepc/...> was being used explicitly. Of the latter only one was outside the arch code and it is a driver only built for powerpc. Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
