Pull powerpc updates from Ben Herrenschmidt:
"This is the powerpc changes for the 3.11 merge window. In addition to
the usual bug fixes and small updates, the main highlights are:
- Support for transparent huge pages by Aneesh Kumar for 64-bit
server processors. This allows the use of 16M pages as transparent
huge pages on kernels compiled with a 64K base page size.
- Base VFIO support for KVM on power by Alexey Kardashevskiy
- Wiring up of our nvram to the pstore infrastructure, including
putting compressed oopses in there by Aruna Balakrishnaiah
- Move, rework and improve our "EEH" (basically PCI error handling
and recovery) infrastructure. It is no longer specific to pseries
but is now usable by the new "powernv" platform as well (no
hypervisor) by Gavin Shan.
- I fixed some bugs in our math-emu instruction decoding and made it
usable to emulate some optional FP instructions on processors with
hard FP that lack them (such as fsqrt on Freescale embedded
processors).
- Support for Power8 "Event Based Branch" facility by Michael
Ellerman. This facility allows what is basically "userspace
interrupts" for performance monitor events.
- A bunch of Transactional Memory vs. Signals bug fixes and HW
breakpoint/watchpoint fixes by Michael Neuling.
And more ... I appologize in advance if I've failed to highlight

The driver provides a way to wake up the system by the MPIC timer.
For example,
echo 5 > /sys/devices/system/mpic/timer_wakeup
echo standby > /sys/power/state
After 5 seconds the MPIC timer will generate an interrupt to wake up
the system.

The MPIC global timer is a hardware timer inside the Freescale PIC complying
with OpenPIC standard. When the specified interval times out, the hardware
timer generates an interrupt. The driver currently is only tested on fsl chip,
but it can potentially support other global timers complying to OpenPIC
standard.
The two independent groups of global timer on fsl chip, group A and group B,
are identical in their functionality, except that they appear at different
locations within the PIC register map. The hardware timer can be cascaded to
create timers larger than the default 31-bit global timers. Timer cascade
fields allow configuration of up to two 63-bit timers. But These two groups
of timers cannot be cascaded together.
It can be used as a wakeup source for low power modes. It also could be used
as periodical timer for protocols, drivers and etc.

The patch moves the common part of EEH core into arch/powerpc/kernel
directory so that we needn't PPC_PSERIES while compiling POWERNV
platform:
* Move the EEH common part into arch/powerpc/kernel
* Move the functions for PCI hotplug from pSeries platform to
arch/powerpc/kernel/pci-hotplug.c
* Move CONFIG_EEH from arch/powerpc/platforms/pseries/Kconfig to
arch/powerpc/platforms/Kconfig
* Adjust makefile accordingly

We are getting build errors with CONFIG_PROC_FS=n:
arch/powerpc/kernel/rtas_flash.c
In function 'rtas_flash_init':
745:33: error: unused variable 'f' [-Werror=unused-variable]
But rtas_flash.c should not be built when CONFIG_PROC_FS=n, beacause all
it does is provide a /proc interface to the RTAS flash routines.
CONFIG_RTAS_FLASH already depends on CONFIG_RTAS_PROC, to indicate that
it depends on the RTAS proc support, but CONFIG_RTAS_PROC does not
depend on CONFIG_PROC_FS. So fix that.

Pull removal of GENERIC_GPIO from Grant Likely:
"GENERIC_GPIO now synonymous with GPIOLIB. There are no longer any
valid cases for enableing GENERIC_GPIO without GPIOLIB, even though it
is possible to do so which has been causing confusion and breakage.
This branch does the work to completely eliminate GENERIC_GPIO."

Config FSL_SOC does not depend on PPC_CLOCK anymore since the following
commit got merged: 93abe8e (clk: add non CONFIG_HAVE_CLK routines)
Config CPM does not use PPC_CLOCK either currently. So remove them.
PPC_CLOCK also keeps Freescale PowerPC archtecture from supporting COMMON_CLK.

The bestcomm dma hardware, and some of its users like the FEC ethernet
component, is used in different FreeScale parts, including non-powerpc
parts like the ColdFire MCF547x & MCF548x families. Don't keep the
driver hidden in arch/powerpc where it is inaccessible for other arches.
.c files are moved to drivers/dma/bestcomm, while .h files are moved to
include/linux/fsl/bestcomm. Makefiles, Kconfigs and #include directives
are updated for the new file locations.
Tested by recompiling for MPC5200 with all bestcomm users enabled.

Some MPIC implementations contain one or more blocks of message registers
that are used to send messages between cores via IPIs. A simple API has
been added to access (get/put, read, write, etc ...) these message registers.
The available message registers are initially discovered via nodes in the
device tree. A separate commit contains a binding for the message register
nodes.

lib: use generic pci_iomap on all architectures
Many architectures don't want to pull in iomap.c,
so they ended up duplicating pci_iomap from that file.
That function isn't trivial, and we are going to modify it
https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/11/14/183
so the duplication hurts.
This reduces the scope of the problem significantly,
by moving pci_iomap to a separate file and
referencing that from all architectures.

This patch enables cpuidle for pSeries and pSeries_idle is
directly called from the idle loop. As a result of pSeries_idle, cpuidle
driver registered with cpuidle subsystem comes into action. On
failure of loading of the driver or cpuidle framework default idle
is executed as part of the function. This patch
also removes the routines pseries_shared_idle_sleep and
pseries_dedicated_idle_sleep as they are now implemented as part of
pseries_idle cpuidle driver.

This patch add support for calling ctrl_alt_del() when the power button is
pressed for more than about 2 seconds on some freescale MPC83xx evaluation
boards and reference design.
The code uses a kthread to poll the CTRL_BTN bit each second.
Also change Kconfig entry of the driver to bool, as device's gpio
registration is broken when loading as module.
Tested on an MPC8315E RDB board.

Move the driver to the place where it is expected to be nowadays. Also
rename its CONFIG-name to match the rest and adapt the defconfigs.
Finally, move selection of REQUIRE_GPIOLIB or WANTS_OPTIONAL_GPIOLIB to
the platforms, because this option is per-platform and not per-driver.

This adds a skeletton for the new Power "Non Virtualized"
platform which will be used by machines supporting running
without an hypervisor, for example in order to run KVM.
These machines will be using a new firmware called OPAL
for which the support will be provided by later patches.
The PowerNV platform is intended to be also usable under
the BML environment used internally for early CPU bringup
which is why the code also supports using RTAS instead of
OPAL in various places.

KVM_GUEST adds a 1 MB array to the kernel (kvm_tmp) which grew
my kernel enough to cause it to fail to boot.
Dynamically allocating or reducing the size of this array is a
good idea, but in the meantime I think it makes sense to make
KVM_GUEST default to n in order to minimise surprises.

The Freescale ePAPR reference hypervisor provides interrupt controller
services via a hypercall interface, instead of emulating the MPIC
controller. This is called the VMPIC.
The ePAPR "virtual interrupt controller" provides interrupt controller
services for external interrupts. External interrupts received by a
partition can come from two sources:
- Hardware interrupts - hardware interrupts come from external
interrupt lines or on-chip I/O devices.
- Virtual interrupts - virtual interrupts are generated by the hypervisor
as part of some hypervisor service or hypervisor-created virtual device.
Both types of interrupts are processed using the same programming model and
same set of hypercalls.

Compile the new smp ipi mux and demux code only if a platform
will make use of it. The new config is selected as required.
The new cause_ipi smp op is only available conditionally to point out
configs where the select is required; this makes setting the op an
immediate fail instead of a deferred unresolved symbol at link.
This also creates a new config for power surge powermac upgrade support
that can be disabled in expert mode but is default on.
I also removed the depends / default y on CONFIG_XICS since it is selected
by PSERIES.

Wakeup comes from the system reset handler with a potential loss of
the non-hypervisor CPU state. We save the non-volatile state on the
stack and a pointer to it in the PACA, which the system reset handler
uses to restore things

We have all the hypervisor pieces in place now, but the guest parts are still
missing.
This patch implements basic awareness of KVM when running Linux as guest. It
doesn't do anything with it yet though.

The GPIO controller of MPC512x is slightly different from
8xxx GPIO controllers. The register interface is the same
except the external interrupt control register. The MPC512x
GPIO controller differentiates between four interrupt event
types and therefore provides two interrupt control registers,
GPICR1 and GPICR2. GPIO[0:15] interrupt event types are
configured in GPICR1 register, GPIO[16:31] - in GPICR2 register.
This patch adds MPC512x speciffic set_type() callback and
updates config file and comments. Additionally the gpio chip
registration function is changed to use for_each_matching_node()
preventing multiple registration if a node claimes compatibility
with another gpio controller type.

MPIC_U3_HT_IRQS is selected both by PPC_PMAC64 and PPC_MAPLE, but depends
on PPC_MAPLE, so a PPC_PMAC64-only config gets this warning:
warning: (PPC_PMAC64 && PPC_PMAC && POWER4 || PPC_MAPLE && PPC64 && PPC_BOOK3S) selects MPIC_U3_HT_IRQS which has unmet direct dependencies (PPC_MAPLE)
Fix that by removing the dependency on PPC_MAPLE.

The CHRP code has some fishy timer based code to scan the RTAS event
log, which uses a 1KB stack buffer and doesn't even use the results.
The pSeries code as a nicer daemon that allows userspace to read the
event log and basically uses the same RTAS interface
This patch moves rtasd.c out of platform/pseries and makes it usable
by CHRP, after removing the old crufty event log mechanism in there.
The nvram logging part of the daemon is still only available on 64-bit
since the underlying nvram management routines aren't currently shared.

CONFIG_PPC_MULTIPLATFORM is a remain of the pre-powerpc days and isn't
really meaningful anymore. It was basically equivalent to PPC64 || 6xx.
This removes it along with the following changes:
- 32-bit platforms that relied on PPC32 && PPC_MULTIPLATFORM now rely
on 6xx which is what they want anyway.
- A new symbol, PPC_BOOK3S, is defined that represent compliance with
the "Server" variant of the architecture. This is set when either 6xx
or PPC64 is set and open the door for future BOOK3E 64-bit.

cbe_cpufreq has a partial dependency on cbe_cpufreq_pmi, which cannot
be easily expressed in Kconfig. This fixes it by introducing an
extra Kconfig symbol CBE_CPUFREQ_PMI_ENABLE. To make the dependency
clearer, turn PPC_PMI into an automatic symbol.

This commit adds the setup code for booting Linux on AmigaOne G3SE (G3
only), AmigaOne XE and uA1 (G3/G4) desktop computers. These boards were
sold by Eyetech and are based on MAI Logic's Teron boards and its
Articia S northbridge.
The AmigaOne uses U-boot as firmware, which doesn't support a flattened
device tree yet. The northbridge has some design flaws, which makes it
necessary to use non cacheable memory for DMA operations
(CONFIG_NOT_COHERENT_CACHE) and to avoid setting the coherence (M) flag
for memory pages.

This patch is used to help Jean Delvare to get rid of drivers/i2c/chips/
directory. The new location suggested by Kumar Gala: as the driver is
83xx specific it's placed into arch/powerpc/platforms/83xx/.

The driver supports very simple GPIO controllers, that is, when a
controller provides just a 'data' register. Such controllers may be
found in various BCSRs (Board's FPGAs used to control board's
switches, LEDs, chip-selects, Ethernet/USB PHY power, etc).
So far we support only 1-byte GPIO banks. Support for other widths may
be implemented when/if needed.
p.s.
To avoid "made up" compatible entries (like compatible = "simple-gpio"),
boards must call simple_gpiochip_init() to pass the compatible string.

Specifying user-selectable option in the qe_lib/Kconfig was a bad idea
because the qe_lib/Kconfig is included into the top level Kconfig, and
thus the QE_GPIO option appears at the top level menu.
This patch effectively moves the QE_GPIO option under the platform menu
instead.
