2006-07-03[POWERPC] Add new interrupt mapping core and change platforms to use itBenjamin Herrenschmidt57-2126/+2829
This adds the new irq remapper core and removes the old one. Because there are some fundamental conflicts with the old code, like the value of NO_IRQ which I'm now setting to 0 (as per discussions with Linus), etc..., this commit also changes the relevant platform and driver code over to use the new remapper (so as not to cause difficulties later in bisecting). This patch removes the old pre-parsing of the open firmware interrupt tree along with all the bogus assumptions it made to try to renumber interrupts according to the platform. This is all to be handled by the new code now. For the pSeries XICS interrupt controller, a single remapper host is created for the whole machine regardless of how many interrupt presentation and source controllers are found, and it's set to match any device node that isn't a 8259. That works fine on pSeries and avoids having to deal with some of the complexities of split source controllers vs. presentation controllers in the pSeries device trees. The powerpc i8259 PIC driver now always requests the legacy interrupt range. It also has the feature of being able to match any device node (including NULL) if passed no device node as an input. That will help porting over platforms with broken device-trees like Pegasos who don't have a proper interrupt tree. 2006-07-03[POWERPC] Copy i8259 code back to arch/ppcBenjamin Herrenschmidt2-1/+6
This copies the i8259 interrupt controller driver from arch/powerpc to arch/ppc. It's currently shared by both architectures, but the upcoming arch/powerpc interrupt changes will break the arch/ppc builds. The changes are too important to just use #ifdef's in the driver. 2006-07-03[POWERPC] New device-tree interrupt parsing codeBenjamin Herrenschmidt2-24/+506
Adds new routines to prom_parse to walk the device-tree for interrupt information. This includes both direct mapping of interrupts and low level parsing functions for use with partial trees. 2006-07-03[POWERPC] Use the genirq frameworkBenjamin Herrenschmidt17-616/+673
This adapts the generic powerpc interrupt handling code, and all of the platforms except for the embedded 6xx machines, to use the new genirq framework. Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2006-07-03[PATCH] genirq: Allow fasteoi handler to retrigger disabled interruptsBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-1/+4
Make the fasteoi handler mark disabled interrupts as pending if they happen anyway. This allow implementation of a delayed disable scheme with the fasteoi handler. 2006-07-03[POWERPC] Update the SWIM3 (powermac) floppy driverBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-100/+130
Port the PowerMac floppy driver (swim3) to use the macio device infrastructure. Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2006-07-03[POWERPC] Fix error handling in detecting legacy serial portsBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-1/+12
Previously we weren't checking for failures in translating device addresses from the firmware. Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2006-07-03[POWERPC] Fix booting on Momentum "Apache" board (a Maple derivative)Benjamin Herrenschmidt2-7/+19
This extends the maple device-tree workarounds to work on the Apache board as well, and extends the maple platform probing code to recognize the Apache board. Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Paul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
2006-07-03[POWERPC] Fix various offb and BootX-related issuesBenjamin Herrenschmidt4-173/+161
This patch fixes various issues with offb (the default fbdev used on powerpc when no proper fbdev is supported). It was broken when using BootX under some circumstances and would fail to properly get the framebuffer base address in others.
