ACPICA commit b2294cae776f5a66a7697414b21949d307e6856f This patch removes unwanted spaces for typedef. This solution doesn't cover function types. Note that the linuxize result of this commit is very giant and should have many conflicts against the current Linux upstream. Thus it is required to modify the linuxize result of this commit and the commits around it manually in order to have them merged to the Linux upstream. Since this is very costy, we should do this only once, and if we can't ensure to do this only once, we need to revert the Linux code to the wrong indentation result before merging the linuxize result of this commit. 2013-09-24ACPICA: Add support for host-installed SCI handlers.Lv Zheng1-7/+7
This change adds support to allow hosts to install System Control Interrupt handlers. Certain ACPI functionality requires the host to handle raw SCIs. For example, the "SCI Doorbell" that is defined for memory power state support requires the host device driver to handle SCIs to examine if the doorbell has been activated. Bug summary: It is reported when the PCC (Platform Communication Channel, via MPST table, defined in ACPI specification 5.0) subchannel responds to the host, it issues an SCI and the host must probe the subchannel for channel status. This patch fixed it, - rename acpi_ev_global_lock_pending/acpi_ev_global_lock_pending_lock to acpi_gbl_global_lock_pending/acpi_gbl_global_lock_pending_lock. - move the initialization of acpi_gbl_global_lock_pending_lock from acpi_ut_mutex_initialize to acpi_ev_init_global_lock_handler. 2011-01-07ACPI / ACPICA: Fix global lock acquisitionRafael J. Wysocki1-39/+55
There are two problems with the ACPICA's current implementation of the global lock acquisition. First, acpi_ev_global_lock_handler(), which in fact is an interface to the outside of the kernel, doesn't validate its input, so it only works correctly if the other side (i.e. the ACPI firmware) is fully specification-compliant (as far as the global lock is concerned). Unfortunately, that's known not to be the case on some systems (i.e. we get spurious global lock signaling interrupts without the pending flag set on some systems). Second, acpi_ev_global_lock_handler() attempts to acquire the global lock on behalf of a thread waiting for it without checking if there actually is such a thread. Both of these shortcomings need to be addressed to prevent all possible race conditions from happening. Rework acpi_ev_global_lock_handler() so that it doesn't try to acquire the global lock and make it signal the availability of the global lock to the waiting thread instead. Make sure that the availability of the global lock can only be signaled when there is a thread waiting for it and that it can't be signaled more than once in a row (to keep acpi_gbl_global_lock_semaphore in balance). 2010-10-01ACPICA: Make acpi_thread_id no longer configurable, always u64Lin Ming1-1/+1
Change definition of acpi_thread_id to always be a u64. This simplifies the code, especially any printf output. u64 is the only common data type for all thread_id types across all operating systems. We now force the OSL to cast the native thread_id type to u64 before returning the value to ACPICA (via acpi_os_get_thread_id). 2010-02-22ACPI / ACPICA: Multiple system notify handlers per deviceRafael J. Wysocki1-3/+9
Currently it only is possible to install one system notify handler per namespace node, but this is not enough for PCI run-time power management, because we need to install power management notifiers for devices that already have hotplug notifiers installed. While in principle this could be handled at the PCI level, that would be suboptimal due to the way in which the ACPI-based PCI hotplug code is designed. For this reason, modify ACPICA so that it is possible to install more than one system notify handler per namespace node. Namely, make acpi_install_notify_handler(), acpi_remove_notify_handler() and acpi_ev_notify_dispatch() use a list of system notify handler objects associated with a namespace node. Make acpi_remove_notify_handler() call acpi_os_wait_events_complete() upfront to avoid a situation in which concurrent instance of acpi_remove_notify_handler() removes the handler from under us while we're waiting for the event queues to flush.
