2020-06-01Merge tag 'docs-5.8' of git://git.lwn.net/linuxLinus Torvalds4-4/+4
Pull documentation updates from Jonathan Corbet: "A fair amount of stuff this time around, dominated by yet another massive set from Mauro toward the completion of the RST conversion. I *really* hope we are getting close to the end of this. Meanwhile, those patches reach pretty far afield to update document references around the tree; there should be no actual code changes there. There will be, alas, more of the usual trivial merge conflicts. Beyond that we have more translations, improvements to the sphinx scripting, a number of additions to the sysctl documentation, and lots of fixes" * tag 'docs-5.8' of git://git.lwn.net/linux: (130 commits) Documentation: fixes to the maintainer-entry-profile template zswap: docs/vm: Fix typo accept_threshold_percent in zswap.rst tracing: Fix events.rst section numbering docs: acpi: fix old http link and improve document format docs: filesystems: add info about efivars content Documentation: LSM: Correct the basic LSM description mailmap: change email for Ricardo Ribalda docs: sysctl/kernel: document unaligned controls Documentation: admin-guide: update bug-hunting.rst docs: sysctl/kernel: document ngroups_max nvdimm: fixes to maintainter-entry-profile Documentation/features: Correct RISC-V kprobes support entry Documentation/features: Refresh the arch support status files Revert "docs: sysctl/kernel: document ngroups_max" docs: move locking-specific documents to locking/ docs: move digsig docs to the security book docs: move the kref doc into the core-api book docs: add IRQ documentation at the core-api book docs: debugging-via-ohci1394.txt: add it to the core-api book docs: fix references for ipmi.rst file ...
2020-04-20docs: fix broken references for ReST files that moved aroundMauro Carvalho Chehab4-4/+4
Some broken references happened due to shifting files around and ReST renames. Those can't be auto-fixed by the script, so let's fix them manually. 2020-04-16crypto: sun8i-ss - Delete an error message in sun8i_ss_probe()Markus Elfring1-3/+1
The function “platform_get_irq” can log an error already. Thus omit a redundant message for the exception handling in the calling function. This issue was detected by using the Coccinelle software. 2020-01-09crypto: remove CRYPTO_TFM_RES_BAD_KEY_LENEric Biggers3-4/+0
The CRYPTO_TFM_RES_BAD_KEY_LEN flag was apparently meant as a way to make the ->setkey() functions provide more information about errors. However, no one actually checks for this flag, which makes it pointless. Also, many algorithms fail to set this flag when given a bad length key. Reviewing just the generic implementations, this is the case for aes-fixed-time, cbcmac, echainiv, nhpoly1305, pcrypt, rfc3686, rfc4309, rfc7539, rfc7539esp, salsa20, seqiv, and xcbc. But there are probably many more in arch/*/crypto/ and drivers/crypto/. Some algorithms can even set this flag when the key is the correct length. For example, authenc and authencesn set it when the key payload is malformed in any way (not just a bad length), the atmel-sha and ccree drivers can set it if a memory allocation fails, and the chelsio driver sets it for bad auth tag lengths, not just bad key lengths. So even if someone actually wanted to start checking this flag (which seems unlikely, since it's been unused for a long time), there would be a lot of work needed to get it working correctly. But it would probably be much better to go back to the drawing board and just define different return values, like -EINVAL if the key is invalid for the algorithm vs. -EKEYREJECTED if the key was rejected by a policy like "no weak keys". That would be much simpler, less error-prone, and easier to test. So just remove this flag. 2019-12-27crypto: sun4i-ss - make unexported sun4i_ss_pm_ops staticBen Dooks (Codethink)1-1/+1
The sun4i_ss_pm_ops is not referenced outside the driver except via a pointer, so make it static to avoid the following warning: drivers/crypto/allwinner/sun4i-ss/sun4i-ss-core.c:276:25: warning: symbol 'sun4i_ss_pm_ops' was not declared.
