2015-08-27gpio: tc3589x: use static container helperLinus Walleij1-5/+5
There is a helper function to do the container_of() magic for the tc3589x GPIO, so use it. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2015-03-26mfd: tc3589x: Enforce device-tree only modeLinus Walleij1-3/+0
All systems using the TC3589x multifunction expander uses devicetree, so don't clutter the place with a lot of and assume it is there. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
2015-01-15gpio: tc3589x: get rid of platform dataLinus Walleij1-13/+2
This device is only used from the device tree, and the startup() and remove() callbacks are not used anywhere in the kernel, so retire them and the pdata altogether. Cc: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com> Acked-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2014-11-25mfd: tc3589x: get rid of static baseLinus Walleij1-1/+1
The TC3589x driver is now a device tree-only driver, so we want only dynamic IRQs and GPIO numbers from the tc3589x, no static assignments. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2014-09-26gpio: handle also nested irqchips in the chained handler set-upLinus Walleij1-0/+5
To unify how we connect cascaded IRQ chips to parent IRQs, if NULL us passed as handler to the gpiochip_set_chained_irqchip() function, assume the chips is nested rather than chained, and we still get the parent set up correctly by way of this function call. Alter the drivers for tc3589x and stmpe to use this to set up their chained handlers as a demonstration of the usage. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>

2014-04-28gpio: tc3589x: use gpiolib irqchip helpersLinus Walleij1-91/+23
Now that the gpiolib irqchip helpers can support nested, threaded IRQ handlers, switch the TC3589x driver over to using this new infrastructure. Tested on the Ux500. Cc: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2014-04-28gpio: tc3589x: get rid of static IRQ baseLinus Walleij1-9/+1
The static IRQ base is not used on any platforms with this chip (only Ux500). Get rid of it forever, and rely on dynamic IRQ descriptor allocation. Cc: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com> Cc: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2014-04-28gpio: tc3589x: use managed resourcesLinus Walleij1-18/+10
Grab state container and irq using the devm_* functions and save some lines of hairy clean-up code. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2013-12-04gpio/pinctrl: make gpio_chip members typed booleanLinus Walleij1-1/+1
This switches the two members of struct gpio_chip that were defined as unsigned foo:1 to bool, because that is indeed what they are. Switch all users in the gpio and pinctrl subsystems to assign these values with true/false instead of 0/1. The users outside these subsystems will survive since true/false is 1/0, atleast we set some kind of more strict typing example. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2013-10-11gpio: tc3589x: drop references to "virtual" IRQLinus Walleij1-18/+18
Rename the argument "virq" to just "irq", this IRQ isn't any more "virtual" than any other Linux IRQ number, we use "hwirq" for the actual hw-numbers, "virq" is just bogus. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>
2013-05-30gpio: tc3589x: remove unnecessary platform_set_drvdata()Jingoo Han1-1/+0
The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure, since commit 0998d0631001288a5974afc0b2a5f568bcdecb4d (device-core: Ensure drvdata = NULL when no driver is bound). Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the device driver data to NULL. 2012-12-11Merge tag 'driver-core-3.8-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/driver-coreLinus Torvalds1-3/+3
Pull driver core updates from Greg Kroah-Hartman: "Here's the large driver core updates for 3.8-rc1. The biggest thing here is the various __dev* marking removals. This is going to be a pain for the merge with different subsystem trees, I know, but all of the patches included here have been ACKed by their various subsystem maintainers, as they wanted them to go through here. If this is too much of a pain, I can pull all of them out of this tree and just send you one with the other fixes/updates and then, after 3.8-rc1 is out, do the rest of the removals to ensure we catch them all, it's up to you. The merges should all be trivial, and Stephen has been doing them all in linux-next for a few weeks now quite easily. Other than the __dev* marking removals, there's nothing major here, some firmware loading updates and other minor things in the driver core. All of these have (much to Stephen's annoyance), been in linux-next for a while. 2012-10-26gpio/tc3589x: convert to use the simple irqdomainLinus Walleij1-11/+9
The special checks for whether we have a base IRQ offset or not is surplus if we use the simple IRQ domain. The IRQ offset zero will be interpreted as a linear domain case. Plus this makes sure we allocate descriptors where need be, or warn if they are preallocated with SPARSE_IRQ. 2012-09-12gpio: Enable the tc3298x GPIO expander driver for Device TreeLee Jones1-9/+17
Here we provide a means to probe and extract vital information from Device Tree when booting with it enabled. Without this patch sub-devices wouldn't be able to reference the tc3589x-gpio expander from Device Tree. 2012-09-12gpio: Provide the tc3589x GPIO expander driver with an IRQ domainLee Jones1-28/+70
In preparation for Device Tree enablement all IRQ controllers should control their own IRQ domain. This patch provides just that for the tc3589x GPIO expander.
