2022-01-17drm/dp: Move DP declarations into separate header fileThomas Zimmermann1-27/+0
Split the DP declarations from other helpers before moving the DP functions into a separate module. v2: * forward-declare struct drm_dp_aux (Jani) * add include guards in drm_dp_helper_internal.h Signed-off-by: Thomas Zimmermann <tzimmermann@suse.de> Acked-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel@ffwll.ch> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20220114114535.29157-3-tzimmermann@suse.de
2021-02-08drm: remove drm_fb_helper_modinitChristoph Hellwig1-10/+0
drm_fb_helper_modinit has a lot of boilerplate for what is not very simple functionality. Just open code it in the only caller using IS_ENABLED and IS_MODULE, and skip the find_module check as a request_module is harmless if the module is already loaded (and not other caller has this find_module check either). 2020-07-13drm/probe_helper: Add drm_connector_helper_funcs.mode_valid_ctxLyude Paul1-2/+5
This is just an atomic version of mode_valid, which is intended to be used for situations where a driver might need to check the atomic state of objects other than the connector itself. One such example is with MST, where the maximum possible bandwidth on a connector can change dynamically irregardless of the display configuration. Changes since v1: * Use new drm logging functions * Make some corrections in the mode_valid_ctx kdoc * Return error codes or 0 from ->mode_valid_ctx() on fail, and store the drm_mode_status in an additional function parameter Changes since v2: * Don't accidentally assign ret to mode->status on success, or we'll squash legitimate mode validation results * Don't forget to assign MODE_OK to status in drm_connector_mode_valid() if we have no callbacks * Drop leftover hunk in drm_modes.h around enum drm_mode_status Changes since v3: * s/return ret/return 0/ in drm_mode_validate_pipeline() * Minor cleanup in drm_connector_mode_valid() Tested-by: Imre Deak <imre.deak@intel.com> Reviewed-by: Imre Deak <imre.deak@intel.com> Cc: Lee Shawn C <shawn.c.lee@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lyude Paul <lyude@redhat.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20200713170746.254388-2-lyude@redhat.com
2019-09-16drm/connector: Share with non-atomic drivers the function to get the single encoderJosé Roberto de Souza1-0/+3
This 3 non-atomic drivers all have the same function getting the only encoder available in the connector, also atomic drivers have this fallback. So moving it a common place and sharing between atomic and non-atomic drivers. While at it I also removed the mention of drm_atomic_helper_best_encoder() that was renamed in commit 297e30b5d9b6 ("drm/atomic-helper: Unexport drm_atomic_helper_best_encoder"). v3: moving drm_connector_get_single_encoder to drm_kms_helper module Reviewed-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com> Reviewed-by: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com> Suggested-by: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com> Cc: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com> Cc: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch> Cc: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com> Cc: dri-devel@lists.freedesktop.org Cc: intel-gfx@lists.freedesktop.org Signed-off-by: José Roberto de Souza <jose.souza@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Manasi Navare <manasi.d.navare@intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20190913232857.389834-1-jose.souza@intel.com
2017-05-30drm: Add drm_{crtc/encoder/connector}_mode_valid()Jose Abreu1-0/+12
Add a new helper to call crtc->mode_valid, connector->mode_valid and encoder->mode_valid callbacks. 2016-08-16drm: Don't export dp-aux devnode functionsDaniel Vetter1-0/+58
They're only used internally within the dp helpers. Also nuke the kerneldoc (we only document the driver interface in the drm shared functions). And move the header file from the public include/ directory to the source files into drm_crtc_helper_internal.h, similar to how we already have drm_crtc_internal.h. While at it also move drm_fb_helper_modinit since that belongs in there, too. I noticed this all since I spotted kerneldoc which wasn't pulled into the rst templates. v2: Update Copyright date.
