Starting in XeHP, the concept of slice has been removed in favor of
DSS (Dual-Subslice) masks for various workload types. These workloads have
been divided into those enabled for geometry and those enabled for compute.
i915 currently maintains a single set of S/SS/EU masks for the device.
The goal of this patch set is to minimize the amount of impact to prior
generations while still giving the user maximum flexibility.

proposed uapi has changed since the comment was first written, and
will show up in a future series once the userspace code is published.

Xe_HPG adds some additional INSTDONE_GEOM debug registers; the Mesa team
has indicated that having these reported in the error state would be
useful for debugging GPU hangs. These registers are replicated per-DSS
with gslice steering.

We no longer have traditional slices on Xe_HP platforms, but the
INSTDONE registers are replicated according to gslice representation
which is similar. We can mostly re-use the existing instdone code with
just a few modifications:
* Create an alternate instdone loop macro that will iterate over the
flat DSS space, but still provide the gslice/dss steering values for
compatibility with the legacy code.
* We should allocate INSTDONE storage space according to the maximum
number of gslices rather than the maximum number of legacy slices to
ensure we have enough storage space to hold all of the values. XeHP
design has 8 gslices, whereas older platforms never had more than 3
slices.

By making the CRTC's .vblank_enable() function return an error when it
is known that the hardware won't deliver a VBLANK, we can drop the
ingenic_drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail() function and use the standard
drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail() function instead.

Till DISPLAY12 the PIPE_MISC bits 5-7 are used to set the
Dithering BPC, with valid values of 6, 8, 10 BPC.
For ADLP+ these bits are used to set the PORT OUTPUT BPC, with valid
values of: 6, 8, 10, 12 BPC, and need to be programmed whether
dithering is enabled or not.
This patch:
-corrects the bits 5-7 for PIPE MISC register for 12 BPC.
-renames the bits and mask to have generic names for these bits for
dithering bpc and port output bpc.

The list of shadowed registers on XeHP is identical to the set for
earlier gen12 platforms, with additional ranges added for the new VCS
and VECS engines. Since those register ranges were reserved on earlier
gen12 platforms, it's safe to consolidate to a single gen12 table
rather than tracking Xe_HP separately.

The bspec lists many shadowed registers (i.e., registers for which we
don't need to grab forcewake when writing) that we weren't tracking in
the driver. Although we may not actually use all of these registers
right now, it's best to just match the bspec list exactly.
Note that the bspec also lists registers that are shadowed for various
HW-internal accesses; we can ignore those and just list the ones that
are shadowed for accesses from the IA/CPU.

Rather than defining our shadow tables as a list of individual
registers, provide them as a list of register ranges; we'll have some
ranges of multiple registers being added soon (and we already have a
couple adjacent registers that we can squash into a single range now).
This change also defines the table with hex literal values rather than
symbolic register names; since that's how the tables are defined in the
bspec, this change will make it easier to review the tables overall.

The forcewake read logic is identical between gen11 and gen12, only the
forcewake table data (which is tracked separately) differs; there's no
need to generate a separate set of gen12 read functions when the gen11
functions will work just as well.
We'll keep the separate write functions for now since the generated code
directly references different shadow tables between the two platforms.

For historical reasons, the GT forcewake domain used to be referred to
as the "blitter" domain; that name is no longer accurate since the GT
domain contains a lot of additional registers and functionality besides
just the blitter. Although we renamed the domain in the driver in
commit 55e3c170950f ("drm/i915: Rename FORCEWAKE_BLITTER to
FORCEWAKE_GT"), we neglected to update the string that gets printed in
driver error messages; let's do that now to avoid confusion.

Unlike previous generations, 7nm PHYs are required to collaborate with
the host for continuos clock mode. Add changes neccessary to enable
continuous clock mode in the 7nm DSI PHYs.

Initialize both pre-emphasis and voltage swing level to 0 before
start link training and do not end link training until video is
ready to reduce the period between end of link training and video
start to meet Link Layer CTS requirement. Some dongle main link
symbol may become unlocked again if host did not end link training
soon enough after completion of link training 2. Host have to re
train main link if loss of symbol locked detected before end link
training so that the coming video stream can be transmitted to sink
properly. This fixes Link Layer CTS cases 4.3.2.1, 4.3.2.2, 4.3.2.3
and 4.3.2.4.

Remove special handling of replug interrupt and instead treat replug event
as a sequential unplug followed by a plugin event. This is needed to meet
the requirements of DP Link Layer CTS test case 4.2.1.3.

Aux hardware calibration sequence requires resetting the aux controller
in order for the new setting to take effect. However resetting the AUX
controller will also clear HPD interrupt status which may accidentally
cause pending unplug interrupt to get lost. Therefore reset aux
controller only when link is in connection state when dp_aux_cmd_fifo_tx()
fail. This fixes Link Layer CTS cases 4.2.1.1 and 4.2.1.2.

DP cable should always connect to DPU during the entire PHY compliance
testing run. Since DP PHY compliance test is executed at irq_hpd event
context, dp_ctrl_off_link_stream() should be used instead of dp_ctrl_off().
dp_ctrl_off() is used for unplug event which is triggered when DP cable is
dis connected.

'of_find_device_by_node()' takes a reference that must be released when
not needed anymore.
This is expected to be done in 'dsi_destroy()'.
However, there are 2 issues in 'dsi_get_phy()'.
First, if 'of_find_device_by_node()' succeeds but 'platform_get_drvdata()'
returns NULL, 'msm_dsi->phy_dev' will still be NULL, and the reference
won't be released in 'dsi_destroy()'.
Secondly, as 'of_find_device_by_node()' already takes a reference, there is
no need for an additional 'get_device()'.
Move the assignment to 'msm_dsi->phy_dev' a few lines above and remove the
unneeded 'get_device()' to solve both issues.

This check is really about which SQE firmware, rather than which GPU.
Rework to match minimum version based on firmware name, so it doesn't

Hide the DRM midlayer behind CONFIG_DRM_LEGACY, make functions use
the prefix drm_legacy_, and move declarations to drm_legacy.h.
In struct drm_device, move the fields irq and irq_enabled behind
CONFIG_DRM_LEGACY.
All callers have been updated.

handle this case correctly.

handle this case correctly.
For most drivers, only the DRM IRQ helpers use irq_enabled from
struct drm_device. Tilcdc also uses irq_enabled to make its error
rollback work correctly. As the field will become legacy, duplicated
the state in the driver's local private structure.

The interrupt number returned by pci_msi_vector() is now stored
in struct amdgpu_irq. Calls to pci_msi_vector() can fail and return
a negative errno code. Abort initlaizaton in thi case. The DRM IRQ
midlayer does not handle this correctly.

Add a firewall that validates jobs before submission to ensure
they don't do anything they aren't allowed to do, like accessing
memory they should not access.
The firewall is functionality-wise a copy of the firewall already
implemented in gpu/host1x. It is copied here as it makes more
sense for it to live on the DRM side, as it is only needed for
userspace job submissions, and generally the data it needs to
do its job is easier to access here.
In the future, the other implementation will be removed.

In some systems only MACO is supported. This is to fix the problem
that runtime pm is enabled but BACO is not supported. MACO will be
handled seperately.
