2011-12-12Drivers: hv: Fix a memory leakK. Y. Srinivasan1-0/+1
There was a memory leak in a failure path in vmbus_process_offer(). Fix it. Signed-off-by: K. Y. Srinivasan <kys@microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: Haiyang Zhang <haiyangz@microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2011-12-09drivers: hv: Don't OOPS when you cannot init vmbusK. Y. Srinivasan1-0/+16
The hv vmbus driver was causing an OOPS since it was trying to register drivers on top of the bus even if initialization of the bus has failed for some reason (such as the odd chance someone would run a hv enabled kernel in a non-hv environment). 2011-11-26hv: Add Kconfig menu entryBart Van Assche1-1/+3
Most of the drivers/*/Kconfig files define a menu entry. Define a menu item for hv too such that it becomes uniform with e.g. virtio for at least "make xconfig" and "make menuconfig" users. 2011-11-26Staging: hv: vmbus: Support building the vmbus driver as part of the kernelK. Y. Srinivasan1-1/+1
Modify the way we initialize the vmbus driver so that all the hyper-v drivers can be linked with the kernel and still ensure that the vmbus driver is fully initialized before the drivers that depend upon the vmbus driver attempt to initialize. 2011-11-18NLS: improve UTF8 -> UTF16 string conversion routineAlan Stern1-4/+6
The utf8s_to_utf16s conversion routine needs to be improved. Unlike its utf16s_to_utf8s sibling, it doesn't accept arguments specifying the maximum length of the output buffer or the endianness of its 16-bit output. This patch (as1501) adds the two missing arguments, and adjusts the only two places in the kernel where the function is called. A follow-on patch will add a third caller that does utilize the new capabilities. The two conversion routines are still annoyingly inconsistent in the way they handle invalid byte combinations. But that's a subject for a different patch. Signed-off-by: Alan Stern <stern@rowland.harvard.edu> CC: Clemens Ladisch <clemens@ladisch.de> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2011-10-11hv: remove struct hv_device_info from hyperv.hGreg Kroah-Hartman1-0/+19
This is only used/needed by the vmbus core code, so move it out of the hyperv.h file and into the .c file that uses it. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2011-10-11hv: remove free_channel() from hyperv.hGreg Kroah-Hartman1-1/+1
This function is only used in the file it is declared in (channel_mgmt.c) so make it static and remove it from the hyperv.h file. Cc: K. Y. Srinivasan <kys@microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2011-10-11Staging: hv: remove vmbus_loglevel as it is not used at all anymoreGreg Kroah-Hartman1-5/+0
As there is no user of this variable, it's time to delete it. For dynamic debugging of the hyperv code, use the standard dynamic debug kernel interface. Cc: K. Y. Srinivasan <kys@microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2011-10-11Staging: hv: remove last user of DPRINT() macroGreg Kroah-Hartman2-33/+0
This also removed the unused function hv_dump_ring_info(). Cc: K. Y. Srinivasan <kys@microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2011-10-11hv: rename prep_negotiate_resp() to vmbus_prep_negotiate_resp()Greg Kroah-Hartman3-9/+8
It's a global symbol, so properly prefix it and use the proper EXPORT value as well. Cc: K. Y. Srinivasan <kys@microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2011-10-11Staging: hv: remove unneeded asm include file in hyperv.hGreg Kroah-Hartman3-3/+3
No one outside of the hyperv core needs to include the asm/hyperv.h file, so don't put it in the "global" include/linux/hyperv.h file. Cc: K. Y. Srinivasan <kys@microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2011-10-10Staging: hv: move hyperv code out of staging directoryGreg Kroah-Hartman12-0/+5034
After many years wandering the desert, it is finally time for the Microsoft HyperV code to move out of the staging directory. Or at least the core hyperv bus code, and the utility driver, the rest still have some review to get through by the various subsystem maintainers.
