2018-07-07headers: separate linux/mod_devicetable.h from linux/platform_device.hRandy Dunlap1-0/+1
At over 4000 #includes, <linux/platform_device.h> is the 9th most #included header file in the Linux kernel. It does not need <linux/mod_devicetable.h>, so drop that header and explicitly add <linux/mod_devicetable.h> to source files that need it. 4146 #include <linux/platform_device.h> After this patch, there are 225 files that use <linux/mod_devicetable.h>, for a reduction of around 3900 times that <linux/mod_devicetable.h> does not have to be read & parsed. 225 #include <linux/mod_devicetable.h> This patch was build-tested on 20 different arch-es. It also makes these drivers SubmitChecklist#1 compliant. 2017-01-02hwmon: (max197) use permission-specific DEVICE_ATTR variantsJulia Lawall1-3/+3
Use DEVICE_ATTR_RO for read-only attributes. This simplifies the source code, improves readbility, and reduces the chance of inconsistencies. The conversion was done automatically using coccinelle. It was validated by compiling both the old and the new source code and comparing its text, data, and bss size. 2012-09-23hwmon: add Maxim MAX197 supportVivien Didelot1-0/+349
The MAX197 is an A/D converter, made by Maxim. This driver currently supports the MAX197, and MAX199. They are both 8-Channel, Multi-Range, 5V, 12-Bit DAS with 8+4 Bus Interface and Fault Protection. The available ranges for the MAX197 are {0,-5V} to 5V, and {0,-10V} to 10V, while they are {0,-2V} to 2V, and {0,-4V} to 4V on the MAX199.
