2011-03-18IB/mad: Improve an error message so error code is includedMichael Heinz1-1/+2

2010-10-13IB/mad: IBoE supports only QP1 (no QP0)Eli Cohen1-12/+17
Since IBoE is using Ethernet as its link layer, there is no central management entity so there is need for QP0. QP1 is still needed since it handles communications between CM agents. This patch will skip QP0 and create only QP1 for IBoE ports. Signed-off-by: Eli Cohen <eli@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: Roland Dreier <rolandd@cisco.com>
2007-08-03IB/mad: agent_send_response() should be voidHal Rosenstock1-14/+10
Nothing looks at the return value of agent_send_response(), so there's no point in returning anything. Signed-off-by: Hal Rosenstock <hal.rosenstock@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Roland Dreier <rolandd@cisco.com>
2007-07-09IB/mad: Enhance SMI for switch supportHal Rosenstock1-3/+16
Extend the SMI with switch (intermediate hop) support. Care has been taken to ensure that the CA (and router) code paths are changed as little as possible. 2006-03-20IB/mad: Simplify SMI by eliminating smi_check_local_dr_smp()Ralph Campbell1-16/+0
The call to ib_get_agent_port() shouldn't be possible to fail when smi_check_local_dr_smp() is called from ib_mad_recv_done_handler(). When it is called from handle_outgoing_dr_smp(), the device and port_num come from mad_agent_priv so I assume the call to ib_get_agent_port() shouldn't fail either. In either case, smi_check_local_smp() only uses the mad_agent pointer to check that mad_agent->device->process_mad is not NULL. The device pointer would have to be the same as the one passed to smi_check_local_dr_smp() since that pointer is used later instead of the one checked in smi_check_local_smp(). 2006-03-20IB/mad: Remove redundant check from smi_check_local_dr_smp()Ralph Campbell1-3/+0
smi_check_local_dr_smp() is called only from two places in core/mad.c It returns 0 or 1. In smi_check_local_dr_smp(), it checks for a directed route SMP but this function is only called when the SMP is a directed route so this is a NOP. 2005-11-07[PATCH] fix remaining missing includesTim Schmielau1-0/+3
Fix more include file problems that surfaced since I submitted the previous fix-missing-includes.patch. This should now allow not to include sched.h from module.h, which is done by a followup patch. 2005-11-02[IB] kzalloc() conversionsRoland Dreier1-2/+1
Replace kmalloc()+memset(,0,) with kzalloc(), for a net savings of 35 source lines and about 500 bytes of text. Signed-off-by: Roland Dreier <rolandd@cisco.com>
2005-10-25[IB] Fix MAD layer DMA mappings to avoid touching data buffer once mappedSean Hefty1-217/+76
The MAD layer was violating the DMA API by touching data buffers used for sends after the DMA mapping was done. This causes problems on non-cache-coherent architectures, because the device doing DMA won't see updates to the payload buffers that exist only in the CPU cache. Fix this by having all MAD consumers use ib_create_send_mad() to allocate their send buffers, and moving the DMA mapping into the MAD layer so it can be done just before calling send (and after any modifications of the send buffer by the MAD layer). Tested on a non-cache-coherent PowerPC 440SPe system. Signed-off-by: Sean Hefty <sean.hefty@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Roland Dreier <rolandd@cisco.com>
2005-08-26[PATCH] IB: move include files to include/rdmaRoland Dreier1-1/+1
Move the InfiniBand headers from drivers/infiniband/include to include/rdma. This allows InfiniBand-using code to live elsewhere, and lets us remove the ugly EXTRA_CFLAGS include path from the InfiniBand Makefiles. Signed-off-by: Roland Dreier <rolandd@cisco.com>
2005-08-26[PATCH] IB: Add copyright noticesRoland Dreier1-5/+6
Make some lawyers happy and add copyright notices for people who forgot to include them when they actually touched the code. Signed-off-by: Roland Dreier <rolandd@cisco.com>
2005-07-27[PATCH] IB: A couple of IB core bug fixesHal Rosenstock1-4/+4
Replace be32_to_cpup with be32_to_cpu and fix bug referencing pointer rather than value in ib_create_ah_from_wc(). 2005-07-27[PATCH] IB: Update MAD client APIHal Rosenstock1-13/+1

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
