2014-07-17[media] media: pvrusb2: make logging code saneAndrey Utkin1-9/+3
The issue was discovered by static analysis. It turns out that code is somewhat insane, being if (x) {...} else { if (x) {...} } Edited it to do the only reasonable thing, which is to log the information about the failed call. The most descriptive logging commands set is taken from original code. 2013-06-21[media] pvrusb2: Remove unused variableMauro Carvalho Chehab1-2/+0
drivers/media/usb/pvrusb2/pvrusb2-v4l2.c: In function 'pvr2_v4l2_dev_init': drivers/media/usb/pvrusb2/pvrusb2-v4l2.c:1268:21: warning: variable 'usbdev' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable] This warning is due to changeset a28fbd04facb, with removed the usage of usbdev inside pvr2_v4l2_dev_init(). 2013-06-17[media] pvrusb2: drop g/s_register ioctlsHans Verkuil1-34/+0
Register access to subdevices no longer needs bridge support for those ioctls. The v4l2 core handles that these days. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Cc: Mike Isely <isely@isely.net> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2013-03-24[media] v4l2: add const to argument of write-only s_register ioctlHans Verkuil1-1/+1
This ioctl is defined as IOW, so pass the argument as const. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Acked-by: Guennadi Liakhovetski <g.liakhovetski@gmx.de> Acked-by: Lad, Prabhakar <prabhakar.csengg@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2013-03-24[media] v4l2: pass std by value to the write-only s_std ioctlHans Verkuil1-2/+2
This ioctl is defined as IOW, so pass the argument by value instead of by reference. I could have chosen to add const instead, but this is 1) easier to handle in drivers and 2) consistent with the s_std subdev operation. 2012-12-27[media] pvrusb2: Replace memcpy with struct assignmentEzequiel Garcia1-1/+1
This kind of memcpy() is error-prone. Its replacement with a struct assignment is prefered because it's type-safe and much easier to read. Found by coccinelle. Hand patched and reviewed. Tested by compilation only. A simplified version of the semantic match that finds this problem is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> @@ identifier struct_name; struct struct_name to; struct struct_name from; expression E; @@ -memcpy(&(to), &(from), E); +to = from; // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Peter Senna Tschudin <peter.senna@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Ezequiel Garcia <elezegarcia@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>

2012-09-26[media] v4l2: make vidioc_s_crop constHans Verkuil1-1/+1
Write-only ioctls should have a const argument in the ioctl op. Do this conversion for vidioc_s_crop. Adding const for write-only ioctls was decided during the 2012 Media Workshop. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
