2018-06-12treewide: kzalloc() -> kcalloc()Kees Cook1-2/+3
The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This patch replaces cases of: kzalloc(a * b, gfp) with: kcalloc(a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp) with: kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. The Coccinelle script used for this was: // Fix redundant parens around sizeof(). @@ type TYPE; expression THING, E; @@ ( kzalloc( - (sizeof(TYPE)) * E + sizeof(TYPE) * E , ...) | kzalloc( - (sizeof(THING)) * E + sizeof(THING) * E , ...) ) // Drop single-byte sizes and redundant parens. @@ expression COUNT; 2018-02-11vfs: do bulk POLL* -> EPOLL* replacementLinus Torvalds1-2/+2
This is the mindless scripted replacement of kernel use of POLL* variables as described by Al, done by this script: for V in IN OUT PRI ERR RDNORM RDBAND WRNORM WRBAND HUP RDHUP NVAL MSG; do L=`git grep -l -w POLL$V | grep -v '^t' | grep -v /um/ | grep -v '^sa' | grep -v '/poll.h$'|grep -v '^D'` for f in $L; do sed -i "-es/^\([^\"]*\)\(\<POLL$V\>\)/\\1E\\2/" $f; done done with de-mangling cleanups yet to come. NOTE! On almost all architectures, the EPOLL* constants have the same values as the POLL* constants do. But they keyword here is "almost". For various bad reasons they aren't the same, and epoll() doesn't actually work quite correctly in some cases due to this on Sparc et al. The next patch from Al will sort out the final differences, and we should be all done. Scripted-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>

2016-10-21[media] stkwebcam: don't break long linesMauro Carvalho Chehab2-4/+3
Due to the 80-cols restrictions, and latter due to checkpatch warnings, several strings were broken into multiple lines. This is not considered a good practice anymore, as it makes harder to grep for strings at the source code. As we're right now fixing other drivers due to KERN_CONT, we need to be able to identify what printk strings don't end with a "\n". It is a way easier to detect those if we don't break long lines. So, join those continuation lines. The patch was generated via the script below, and manually adjusted if needed. </script> use Text::Tabs; while (<>) { if ($next ne "") { $c=$_; if ($c =~ /^\s+\"(.*)/) { $c2=$1; $next =~ s/\"\n$//; $n = expand($next); $funpos = index($n, '('); $pos = index($c2, '",'); if ($funpos && $pos > 0) { $s1 = substr $c2, 0, $pos + 2; $s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . substr $c2, $pos + 2; $s2 =~ s/^\s+//; $s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . $s2 if ($s2 ne ""); print unexpand("$next$s1\n"); print unexpand("$s2\n") if ($s2 ne ""); } else { print "$next$c2\n"; } $next=""; next; } else { print $next; } $next=""; } else { if (m/\"$/) { if (!m/\\n\"$/) { $next=$_; next; } } } print $_; } </script> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>

2014-07-17[media] v4l: Support extending the v4l2_pix_format structureLaurent Pinchart1-2/+0
The v4l2_pix_format structure has no reserved field. It is embedded in the v4l2_framebuffer structure which has no reserved fields either, and in the v4l2_format structure which has reserved fields that were not previously required to be zeroed out by applications. To allow extending v4l2_pix_format, inline it in the v4l2_framebuffer structure, and use the priv field as a magic value to indicate that the application has set all v4l2_pix_format extended fields and zeroed all reserved fields following the v4l2_pix_format field in the v4l2_format structure. The availability of this API extension is reported to userspace through the new V4L2_CAP_EXT_PIX_FORMAT capability flag. Just checking that the priv field is still set to the magic value at [GS]_FMT return wouldn't be enough, as older kernels don't zero the priv field on return. To simplify the internal API towards drivers zero the extended fields and set the priv field to the magic value for applications not aware of the extensions. 2013-03-05[media] stk-webcam: zero the priv field of v4l2_pix_formatHans Verkuil1-6/+17
The priv field should be set to 0. In this case the driver abused the priv field for internal housekeeping. Modify the code so priv is no longer used for that purpose. 2013-03-05[media] stk-webcam: fix querycap and simplify s_inputHans Verkuil1-6/+6
Add device_caps support to querycap, fill in bus_info correctly and do not set the version field (let the core handle that). Also simplify the s_input ioctl. 2013-03-05[media] stk-webcam: don't use private_data, use video_drvdataHans Verkuil1-18/+14
file->private_data is needed to store the pointer to struct v4l2_fh. So use video_drvdata to get hold of the stk_camera struct. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Tested-by: Arvydas Sidorenko <asido4@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>

2012-12-21[media] stk-webcam: Add an upside down dmi table, and add the Asus G1 to itHans de Goede1-10/+46
The stk-webcam module is inserted upside-down in some webcams, so we need to de hflip and vflip by default on some models. Note that this patch inverts the value of the controls as reported by the control API in this case so that for the user they still make sense (iow not doing any flipping from the ctrl API pov results in an upright image).
