2019-01-03mfd: mc13xxx: Fix a missing check of a register-read failureKangjie Lu1-1/+3
When mc13xxx_reg_read() fails, "old_adc0" is uninitialized and will contain random value. Further execution uses "old_adc0" even when mc13xxx_reg_read() fails. The fix checks the return value of mc13xxx_reg_read(), and exits the execution when it fails. Signed-off-by: Kangjie Lu <kjlu@umn.edu> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee.jones@linaro.org>
2018-10-23mfd: mc13xxx-core: Fix PMIC shutdown when reading ADC valuesFabio Estevam1-1/+2
When trying to read any MC13892 ADC channel on a imx51-babbage board: The MC13892 PMIC shutdowns completely. After debugging this issue and comparing the MC13892 and MC13783 initializations done in the vendor kernel, it was noticed that the CHRGRAWDIV bit of the ADC0 register was not being set. This bit is set by default after power on, but the driver was clearing it. After setting this bit it is possible to read the ADC values correctly. 2015-06-22mfd: mc13xxx-core: Pass the IRQF_ONESHOT flagFabio Estevam1-1/+1
Since commit 1c6c69525b40eb76de8adf039409722015927dc3 ("genirq: Reject bogus threaded irq requests") threaded IRQs without a primary handler need to be requested with IRQF_ONESHOT, otherwise the request will fail. So pass the IRQF_ONESHOT flag in this case. The semantic patch that makes this change is available in scripts/coccinelle/misc/irqf_oneshot.cocci. 2014-06-03mfd: mc13xxx-core: Initialize the lock prior to using itFabio Estevam1-2/+2
After request_threaded_irq() is called there is a chance that an interrupt may occur before the 'mc13xxx->lock' is initialized, which will trigger a kernel oops. In order to prevent that, move the initialization of 'mc13xxx->lock' prior to requesting the interrupts. 2012-09-14mfd: core: Push irqdomain mapping out into devicesMark Brown1-1/+1
Currently the MFD core supports remapping MFD cell interrupts using an irqdomain but only if the MFD is being instantiated using device tree and only if the device tree bindings use the pattern of registering IPs in the device tree with compatible properties. This will be actively harmful for drivers which support non-DT platforms and use this pattern for their DT bindings as it will mean that the core will silently change remapping behaviour and it is also limiting for drivers which don't do DT with this particular pattern. There is also a potential fragility if there are interrupts not associated with MFD cells and all the cells are omitted from the device tree for some reason. Instead change the code to take an IRQ domain as an optional argument, allowing drivers to take the decision about the parent domain for their interrupts. The one current user of this feature is ab8500-core, it has the domain lookup pushed out into the driver. 2012-05-01mfd: Move the mc13xxx-core spi specific code into a separate moduleMarc Reilly1-143/+5

2011-03-23mfd: Rename platform_data field of mfd_cell to mfd_dataAndres Salomon1-1/+1
Rename the platform_data variable to imply a distinction between common platform_data driver usage (typically accessed via pdev->dev.platform_data) and the way MFD passes data down to clients (using a wrapper named mfd_get_data). All clients have already been changed to use the wrapper function, so this can be a quick single-commit change that only touches things in drivers/mfd. 2011-03-23mfd: mfd_cell is now implicitly available to mc13xxx driversAndres Salomon1-13/+5
The cell's platform_data is now accessed with a helper function; change clients to use that, and remove the now-unused data_size. Note that mfd-core no longer makes a copy of platform_data, but the mc13xxx-core driver creates the pdata structures on the stack. In order to get around that, the various ARM mach types that set the pdata have been changed to hold the variable in static (global) memory. Also note that __initdata references in aforementioned pdata structs have been dropped. Signed-off-by: Andres Salomon <dilinger@queued.net> Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com>
