2012-03-30Merge tag 'for-linus-3.4' of git://git.infradead.org/mtd-2.6Linus Torvalds1-1/+12
Pull MTD changes from David Woodhouse: - Artem's cleanup of the MTD API continues apace. - Fixes and improvements for ST FSMC and SuperH FLCTL NAND, amongst others. - More work on DiskOnChip G3, new driver for DiskOnChip G4. - Clean up debug/warning printks in JFFS2 to use pr_<level>. Fix up various trivial conflicts, largely due to changes in calling conventions for things like dmaengine_prep_slave_sg() (new inline wrapper to hide new parameter, clashing with rewrite of previously last parameter that used to be an 'append' flag, and is now a bitmap of 'unsigned long flags'). (Also some header file fallout - like so many merges this merge window - and silly conflicts with sparse fixes) * tag 'for-linus-3.4' of git://git.infradead.org/mtd-2.6: (120 commits) mtd: docg3 add protection against concurrency mtd: docg3 refactor cascade floors structure mtd: docg3 increase write/erase timeout mtd: docg3 fix inbound calculations mtd: nand: gpmi: fix function annotations mtd: phram: fix section mismatch for phram_setup mtd: unify initialization of erase_info->fail_addr mtd: support ONFI multi lun NAND mtd: sm_ftl: fix typo in major number. mtd: add device-tree support to spear_smi mtd: spear_smi: Remove default partition information from driver mtd: Add device-tree support to fsmc_nand mtd: fix section mismatch for doc_probe_device mtd: nand/fsmc: Remove sparse warnings and errors mtd: nand/fsmc: Add DMA support mtd: nand/fsmc: Access the NAND device word by word whenever possible mtd: nand/fsmc: Use dev_err to report error scenario mtd: nand/fsmc: Use devm routines mtd: nand/fsmc: Modify fsmc driver to accept nand timing parameters via platform mtd: fsmc_nand: add pm callbacks to support hibernation ...

2012-03-27mtd: maps: pcmciamtd: Add reference counter to set_vpp()Paul Parsons1-1/+12
This patch is part of a set which fixes unnecessary flash erase and write errors resulting from the MTD CFI driver turning off vpp while an erase is in progress. This patch allows pcmciamtd_set_vpp() calls to be nested by adding a reference counter. 2011-09-11mtd: cleanup last uses of MTD_DEBUG config macrosBrian Norris1-4/+0

2010-09-29pcmcia: remove obsolete and wrong commentsDominik Brodowski1-21/+0
What's worse than no comment? A wrong comment. Several PCMCIA device drivers contained the same comments, which were based on how the PCMCIA subsystem worked in the old days of 2.4., and which were originally part of a "dummy_cs" driver. These comments no longer matched at all what is happening now, and therefore should be removed. Tested-by: Wolfram Sang <w.sang@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
2010-09-29pcmcia: avoid messages on module (un)loadingDominik Brodowski1-2/+0

2010-09-29pcmcia: convert pcmcia_request_configuration to pcmcia_enable_deviceDominik Brodowski1-5/+1
pcmcia_enable_device() now replaces pcmcia_request_configuration(). Instead of config_req_t, all necessary flags are either passed as a parameter to pcmcia_enable_device(), or (in rare circumstances) set in struct pcmcia_device -> flags. With the last remaining user of include/pcmcia/cs.h gone, remove all references. 2010-09-29pcmcia: move config_{base,index,regs} to struct pcmcia_deviceDominik Brodowski1-1/+1
Several drivers prefer to explicitly set config_{base,index,regs}, formerly known as ConfigBase, ConfigIndex and Present. Instead of passing these values inside config_req_t, store it in struct pcmcia_device. CC: netdev@vger.kernel.org CC: linux-wireless@vger.kernel.org CC: linux-ide@vger.kernel.org CC: linux-usb@vger.kernel.org CC: laforge@gnumonks.org CC: linux-mtd@lists.infradead.org CC: alsa-devel@alsa-project.org CC: linux-serial@vger.kernel.org CC: Jiri Kosina <jkosina@suse.cz> CC: linux-scsi@vger.kernel.org Acked-by: Gustavo F. 2010-09-29pcmcia: simplify IntTypeDominik Brodowski1-2/+0
IntType was only set to INT_MEMORY (driver pcmciamtd) or INT_MEMORY_AND_IO (all other drivers). As this flags seems to relate to ioport access, make it conditional to the driver having requested IO port access. There are two drivers which do not request IO ports, but did set INT_MEMORY_AND_IO: ray_cs and b43. For those, we consistently only set INT_MEMORY in future. 2010-09-29pcmcia: move Vpp setup to struct pcmcia_deviceDominik Brodowski1-2/+2
Some drivers prefer to explicitly set Vpp. Instead of passing the voltage inside config_req_t, store it in struct pcmcia_device. CC: linux-ide@vger.kernel.org CC: netdev@vger.kernel.org CC: linux-mtd@lists.infradead.org CC: linux-wireless@vger.kernel.org CC: linux-serial@vger.kernel.org CC: linux-usb@vger.kernel.org CC: linux-scsi@vger.kernel.org Acked-by: Gustavo F. 2010-09-29pcmcia: split up modify_configuration() into two fixup functionsDominik Brodowski1-7/+1
pcmcia_modify_configuration() was only used by two drivers to fix up one issue each: setting the Vpp to a different value, and reducing the IO width to 8 bit. Introduce two explicitly named functions handling these things, and remove one further typedef. CC: netdev@vger.kernel.org CC: linux-mtd@lists.infradead.org Tested-by: Wolfram Sang <w.sang@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
2010-09-29pcmcia: do not use win_req_t when calling pcmcia_request_window()Dominik Brodowski1-24/+29
Instead of win_req_t, drivers are now requested to fill out struct pcmcia_device *p_dev->resource[2,3,4,5] for up to four iomem ranges. After a call to pcmcia_request_window(), the windows found there are reserved and may be used until pcmcia_release_window() is called. 2010-05-10pcmcia: dev_node removal (write-only drivers)Dominik Brodowski1-3/+0
dev_node_t was only used to transport some minor/major numbers from the PCMCIA device drivers to deprecated userspace helpers. However, only a few drivers made use of it, and the userspace helpers are deprecated anyways. Therefore, get rid of dev_node_t . As a first step, remove any usage of dev_node_t from drivers which only wrote to this typedef/struct, but did not make use of it. 2006-03-31[PATCH] pcmcia: use bitfield instead of p_state and stateDominik Brodowski1-17/+10
Instead of the two status values struct pcmcia_device->p_state and state, use descriptive bitfields. Most value-checking in drivers was invalid, as the core now only calls the ->remove() (a.k.a. detach) function in case the attachement _and_ configuration was successful. 2006-03-31[PATCH] pcmcia: add return value to _config() functionsDominik Brodowski1-12/+11
Most of the driver initialization isn't done in the .probe function, but in the internal _config() functions. Make them return a value, so that .probe can properly report whether the probing of the device succeeded or not. Signed-off-by: Dominik Brodowski <linux@dominikbrodowski.net>
