2019-10-15net: ethernet: broadcom: have drivers select DIMLIB as neededRandy Dunlap1-1/+3
NET_VENDOR_BROADCOM is intended to control a kconfig menu only. It should not have anything to do with code generation. As such, it should not select DIMLIB for all drivers under NET_VENDOR_BROADCOM. Instead each driver that needs DIMLIB should select it (being the symbols SYSTEMPORT, BNXT, and BCMGENET). Being able to build devlink as a module causes growing pains. First all drivers had to add a meta dependency to make sure they are not built in when devlink is built as a module. 2018-06-23net: Remove depends on HAS_DMA in case of platform dependencyGeert Uytterhoeven1-2/+0
Remove dependencies on HAS_DMA where a Kconfig symbol depends on another symbol that implies HAS_DMA, and, optionally, on "|| COMPILE_TEST". In most cases this other symbol is an architecture or platform specific symbol, or PCI. Generic symbols and drivers without platform dependencies keep their dependencies on HAS_DMA, to prevent compiling subsystems or drivers that cannot work anyway. This simplifies the dependencies, and allows to improve compile-testing. 2017-08-28bnxt_en: bnxt: add TC flower filter offload supportSathya Perla1-0/+9
This patch adds support for offloading TC based flow rules and actions for the 'flower' classifier in the bnxt_en driver. It includes logic to parse flow rules and actions received from the TC subsystem, store them and issue the corresponding hwrm_cfa_flow_alloc/free FW cmds. L2/IPv4/IPv6 flows and drop, redir, vlan push/pop actions are supported in this patch. In this patch the hwrm_cfa_flow_xxx routines are just stubs. 2017-08-02net: bcmgenet: drop COMPILE_TEST dependencyArnd Bergmann1-1/+1
The last patch added the dependency on 'OF && HAS_IOMEM' but left COMPILE_TEST as an alternative, which kind of defeats the purpose of adding the dependency, we still get randconfig build warnings: warning: (NET_DSA_BCM_SF2 && BCMGENET) selects MDIO_BCM_UNIMAC which has unmet direct dependencies (NETDEVICES && MDIO_BUS && HAS_IOMEM && OF_MDIO) For compile-testing purposes, we don't really need this anyway, as CONFIG_OF can be enabled on all architectures, and HAS_IOMEM is present on all architectures we do meaningful compile-testing on (the exception being arch/um). 2017-07-24bnxt_en: add support to enable VF-representorsSathya Perla1-0/+1
This patch is a part of a patch-set that introduces support for VF-reps in the bnxt_en driver. The driver registers eswitch mode get/set methods with the devlink interface that allow a user to enable SRIOV switchdev mode. When enabled, the driver registers a VF-rep netdev object for each VF with the stack. This can essentially bring the VFs unders the management perview of the hypervisor and applications such as OVS. 2016-11-16ptp_clock: Allow for it to be optionalNicolas Pitre1-2/+2
In order to break the hard dependency between the PTP clock subsystem and ethernet drivers capable of being clock providers, this patch provides simple PTP stub functions to allow linkage of those drivers into the kernel even when the PTP subsystem is configured out. Drivers must be ready to accept NULL from ptp_clock_register() in that case. And to make it possible for PTP to be configured out, the select statement in those driver's Kconfig menu entries is converted to the new "imply" statement. This way the PTP subsystem may have Kconfig dependencies of its own, such as POSIX_TIMERS, without having to make those ethernet drivers unavailable if POSIX timers are cconfigured out. And when support for POSIX timers is selected again then the default config option for PTP clock support will automatically be adjusted accordingly. The pch_gbe driver is a bit special as it relies on extra code in drivers/ptp/ptp_pch.c. Therefore we let the make process descend into drivers/ptp/ even if PTP_1588_CLOCK is unselected. 2016-07-09net: ethernet: bgmac: Add platform device supportJon Mason1-1/+22
The bcma portion of the driver has been split off into a bcma specific driver. This has been mirrored for the platform driver. The last references to the bcma core struct have been changed into a generic function call. These function calls are wrappers to either the original bcma code or new platform functions that access the same areas via MMIO. This necessitated adding function pointers for both platform and bcma to hide which backend is being used from the generic bgmac code. 2016-02-24bnx2x: add a separate GENEVE Kconfig symbolArnd Bergmann1-0/+10

2016-01-29net: bgmac: clarify CONFIG_BCMA dependencyArnd Bergmann1-1/+4
The bgmac driver depends on BCMA_HOST_SOC, which is only used when CONFIG_BCMA is enabled. However, it is a bool option and can be set when CONFIG_BCMA=m, and then bgmac can be built-in, leading to an obvious link error: drivers/built-in.o: In function `bgmac_init': :(.init.text+0x7f2c): undefined reference to `__bcma_driver_register' drivers/built-in.o: In function `bgmac_exit': :(.exit.text+0x110a): undefined reference to `bcma_driver_unregister' To avoid this case, we need to depend on both BCMA and BCMA_SOC, as this patch does. I'm also trying to make the dependency more readable by splitting it into three lines, and adding a COMPILE_TEST alternative so we can test-build it in all configurations that support BCMA. The added dependency on FIXED_PHY addresses a related issue where we cannot call fixed_phy_register() when CONFIG_FIXED_PHY=m and CONFIG_BGMAC=y. 2013-12-20b44: add phylib supportHauke Mehrtens1-0/+1
Most of the older home routers based on the Broadcom BCM47XX SoC series are using a MAC that is supported by b44. On most of these routers not the internal PHY of this MAC core is used, but a switch sometimes on an external chip or integrated into the same SoC as the Ethernet core. For this switch a special PHY driver is needed which should not be integrated into b44 as the same switches are also used by other Broadcom home networking SoCs which are using different Ethernet MAC drivers. This was tested with the b53 switch driver which is currently on its way to mainline. If the internal PHY is not used, b44 will now search on the MDIO bus for a phy and use the Linux phylib subsystem to register a driver. Support for the internal PHY must stay here, because there are some device which are suing the internal phy. With this patch we scan the mdio bus when the sprom or nvram says that the PHY address is 30, if a PHY was found at this address b44 uses it. This was tested with a BCM4704, BCM4712 and BCM5354. 2013-07-24bgmac: make bgmac depend on bcm47xxHauke Mehrtens1-1/+1
bgmac uses bcm47xx_nvram.h which is only available when BCM47XX was selected. Earlier BCMA_HOST_SOC depended on BCM47XX so this was not build on any other archs, but that changed. We should modify this driver to get access to the nvram or the variables through platform data. This fixes a build problem in linux-next reported by Stephen Rothwell: drivers/net/ethernet/broadcom/bgmac.c:19:27: fatal error: bcm47xx_nvram.h: No such file or directory #include <bcm47xx_nvram.h> ^ Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de> Reported-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: John W. 2013-06-19net: Move MII out from under NET_CORE and hide itBen Hutchings1-2/+0
All drivers that select MII also need to select NET_CORE because MII depends on it. This is a bit ridiculous because NET_CORE is just a menu option that doesn't enable any code by itself. There is also no need for it to be a visible option, since its users all select it. 2013-01-09bgmac: driver for GBit MAC core on BCMA busRafał Miłecki1-0/+9
BCMA is a Broadcom specific bus with devices AKA cores. All recent BCMA based SoCs have gigabit ethernet provided by the GBit MAC core. This patch adds driver for such a cores registering itself as a netdev. It has been tested on a BCM4706 and BCM4718 chipsets. In the kernel tree there is already b44 driver which has some common things with bgmac, however there are many differences that has led to the decision or writing a new driver: 1) GBit MAC cores appear on BCMA bus (not SSB as in case of b44) 2) There is 64bit DMA engine which differs from 32bit one 3) There is no CAM (Content Addressable Memory) in GBit MAC 4) We have 4 TX queues on GBit MAC devices (instead of 1) 5) Many registers have different addresses/values 6) RX header flags are also different The driver in it's state is functional how, however there is of course place for improvements: 1) Supporting more net_device_ops 2) SUpporting more ethtool_ops 3) Unaligned addressing in DMA 4) Writing separated PHY driver Signed-off-by: Rafał Miłecki <zajec5@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-01-07bnx2x: Segregate SR-IOV codeAriel Elior1-0/+9
In this patch the SR-IOV code is segregated from the main bulk of the bnx2x code. The CONFIG_BNX2X_SRIOV define is added to Broadcom's Kconfig, and allows the elision of the building of all the SR-IOV support code in the driver. The define is dependant on the kernel CONFIG_PCI_IOV configuration define. Signed-off-by: Ariel Elior <ariele@broadcom.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2012-10-01tg3: unconditionally select HWMON support when tg3 is enabled.Paul Gortmaker1-0/+1
There is the seldom used corner case where HWMON=m at the same time as TIGON3=y (typically randconfigs) which will cause a link fail like: drivers/built-in.o: In function `tg3_close': tg3.c:(.text+0x16bd86): undefined reference to `hwmon_device_unregister' drivers/built-in.o: In function `tg3_hwmon_open': tg3.c:(.text+0x16fc4b): undefined reference to `hwmon_device_register' make[1]: *** [vmlinux] Error 1 Fix it as suggested by DaveM[1] by having the Kconfig logic simply select HWMON when TIGON3 is selected. This gets rid of all the extra IS_ENABLED ifdeffery in tg3.c as a side benefit.
