2013-05-22net/ethernet/chelsio/cxgb/cxgb2: Use module_pci_driver to register driverPeter Hüwe1-13/+2
Removing some boilerplate by using module_pci_driver instead of calling register and unregister in the otherwise empty init/exit functions. The name of the pci_driver struct had to be changed in order to prevent a build failure. Signed-off-by: Peter Huewe <peterhuewe@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-04-19net: vlan: add protocol argument to packet tagging functionsPatrick McHardy1-1/+1
Add a protocol argument to the VLAN packet tagging functions. In case of HW tagging, we need that protocol available in the ndo_start_xmit functions, so it is stored in a new field in the skb. The new field fits into a hole (on 64 bit) and doesn't increase the sks's size. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-04-19net: vlan: rename NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_* feature flags to NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_CTAG_*Patrick McHardy2-7/+8
Rename the hardware VLAN acceleration features to include "CTAG" to indicate that they only support CTAGs. Follow up patches will introduce 802.1ad server provider tagging (STAGs) and require the distinction for hardware not supporting acclerating both. 2013-03-20chelsio: use netdev_alloc_skb_ip_alignstephen hemminger1-2/+1
Use netdev_alloc_sk_ip_align in the case where packet is copied. This handles case where NET_IP_ALIGN == 0 as well as adding required header padding. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <stephen@networkplumber.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-03-20chelsio: add headroom in RX pathEric Dumazet1-1/+1
Drivers should reserve some headroom in skb used in receive path, to avoid future head reallocation. One possible way to do that is to use dev_alloc_skb() instead of alloc_skb(), so that NET_SKB_PAD bytes are reserved. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-01-07chelsio: Use netdev_<level> and pr_<level>Joe Perches2-20/+14
Use more current logging styles. Convert printks to pr_<level> and printks with ("%s: ...", dev->name to netdev_<level>(dev, "... Add pr_fmt #defines where appropriate. Coalesce formats. Use pr_<level>_once where appropriate. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-12-07drivers/net: fix up function prototypes after __dev* removalsGreg Kroah-Hartman3-8/+5
The __dev* removal patches for the network drivers ended up messing up the function prototypes for a bunch of drivers. This patch fixes all of them back up to be properly aligned. Bonus is that this almost removes 100 lines of code, always a nice surprise. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-12-07chelsio: remove get_clock and use ktime_getJan Glauber1-13/+1
The get_clock() of the chelsio driver clashes with the s390 one. The chelsio helper reads a timespec via ktime just to convert it back to ktime. I can see no different outcome from calling ktime_get directly. Remove the get_clock and use ktime_get directly. Signed-off-by: Jan Glauber <jang@linux.vnet.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-12-03chelsio: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton4-9/+9
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. Signed-off-by: Bill Pemberton <wfp5p@virginia.edu> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2011-11-22Sweep away N/A fw_version dustbunnies from the .get_drvinfo routine of a number of driversRick Jones1-1/+0
Per discussion with Ben Hutchings and David Miller, go through and remove assignments of "N/A" to fw_version in various drivers' .get_drvinfo routines. While there clean-up some use of bare constants and such. Signed-off-by: Rick Jones <rick.jones2@hp.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-11-16net: introduce and use netdev_features_t for device features setsMichał Mirosław3-5/+6

2011-11-14Sweep additional floors of strcpy in .get_drvinfo routinesRick Jones1-4/+5
Perform another round of floor sweeping, converting the .get_drvinfo routines of additional drivers from strcpy to strlcpy along with some conversion of sprintf to snprintf. Signed-off-by: Rick Jones <rick.jones2@hp.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-10-19net: add skb frag size accessorsEric Dumazet1-5/+5
To ease skb->truesize sanitization, its better to be able to localize all references to skb frags size. Define accessors : skb_frag_size() to fetch frag size, and skb_frag_size_{set|add|sub}() to manipulate it. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-10-07net: Remove unnecessary driver assignments of ethtool_ringparam fields to zeroRick Jones1-2/+0
Per comments from Ben Hutchings on a previous patch, sweep the floors a little removing unnecessary assignments of zero to fields of struct ethtool_ringparam in driver code supporting ethtool -g. Signed-off-by: Rick Jones <rick.jones2@hp.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-10-06net: use DMA_x_DEVICE and dma_mapping_error with skb_frag_dma_mapIan Campbell1-1/+1
When I converted some drivers from pci_map_page to skb_frag_dma_map I neglected to convert PCI_DMA_xDEVICE into DMA_x_DEVICE and pci_dma_mapping_error into dma_mapping_error. Signed-off-by: Ian Campbell <ian.campbell@citrix.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
