2018-02-06be2net: Handle transmit completion errors in LancerSuresh Reddy4-48/+69
If the driver receives a TX CQE with status as 0x1 or 0x9 or 0xb, the completion indexes should not be used. The driver must stop consuming CQEs from this TXQ/CQ. 2018-01-22be2net: restore properly promisc mode after queues reconfigurationIvan Vecera1-0/+9
The commit 622190669403 ("be2net: Request RSS capability of Rx interface depending on number of Rx rings") modified be_update_queues() so the IFACE (HW representation of the netdevice) is destroyed and then re-created. This causes a regression because potential promiscuous mode is not restored properly during be_open() because the driver thinks that the HW has promiscuous mode already enabled. Note that Lancer is not affected by this bug because RX-filter flags are disabled during be_close() for this chipset. 2017-10-25locking/atomics: COCCINELLE/treewide: Convert trivial ACCESS_ONCE() patterns to READ_ONCE()/WRITE_ONCE()Mark Rutland1-1/+1
Please do not apply this to mainline directly, instead please re-run the coccinelle script shown below and apply its output. For several reasons, it is desirable to use {READ,WRITE}_ONCE() in preference to ACCESS_ONCE(), and new code is expected to use one of the former. So far, there's been no reason to change most existing uses of ACCESS_ONCE(), as these aren't harmful, and changing them results in churn. However, for some features, the read/write distinction is critical to correct operation. To distinguish these cases, separate read/write accessors must be used. This patch migrates (most) remaining ACCESS_ONCE() instances to {READ,WRITE}_ONCE(), using the following coccinelle script: ---- // Convert trivial ACCESS_ONCE() uses to equivalent READ_ONCE() and // WRITE_ONCE() // $ make coccicheck COCCI=/home/mark/once.cocci SPFLAGS="--include-headers" MODE=patch virtual patch @ depends on patch @ expression E1, E2; @@ - ACCESS_ONCE(E1) = E2 + WRITE_ONCE(E1, E2) @ depends on patch @ expression E; @@ - ACCESS_ONCE(E) + READ_ONCE(E) ---- Signed-off-by: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com> Signed-off-by: Paul E. 2017-05-25be2net: Fix UE detection logic for BE3Suresh Reddy2-8/+22
On certain platforms BE3 chips may indicate spurious UEs (unrecoverable error). Because of the UE detection logic was disabled in the driver for BE3 chips. Because of this, even in cases of a real UE, a failover will not occur. This patch re-enables UE detection on BE3 and if a UE is detected, reads the POST register. If the POST register, reports either a FAT_LOG_STATE or a ARMFW_UE, then it means that a valid UE occurred in the chip. Signed-off-by: Suresh Reddy <suresh.reddy@broadcom.com> Signed-off-by: David S. We disable VxLAN offload when more than 1 UDP port is added to the driver, since Skyhawk doesn't support offload with multiple ports. The existing driver design expects the user to delete all port configurations and create a configuration with a single UDP port for VxLAN offload to be re-enabled. Remove this restriction by tracking the ports added and re-enabling offload when ports get deleted and only 1 port is left. 2017-02-01be2net: fix initial MAC settingIvan Vecera1-5/+28
Recent commit 34393529163a ("be2net: fix MAC addr setting on privileged BE3 VFs") allows privileged BE3 VFs to set its MAC address during initialization. Although the initial MAC for such VFs is already programmed by parent PF the subsequent setting performed by VF is OK, but in certain cases (after fresh boot) this command in VF can fail. The MAC should be initialized only when: 1) no MAC is programmed (always except BE3 VFs during first init) 2) programmed MAC is different from requested (e.g. MAC is set when interface is down). In this case the initial MAC programmed by PF needs to be deleted. The adapter->dev_mac contains MAC address currently programmed in HW so it should be zeroed when the MAC is deleted from HW and should not be filled when MAC is set when interface is down in be_mac_addr_set() as no programming is performed in this case. Example of failure without the fix (immediately after fresh boot): # ip link set eth0 up <- eth0 is BE3 PF be2net 0000:01:00.0 eth0: Link is Up # echo 1 > /sys/class/net/eth0/device/sriov_numvfs <- Create 1 VF ... be2net 0000:01:04.0: Emulex OneConnect(be3): VF port 0 # ip link set eth8 up <- eth8 is created privileged VF be2net 0000:01:04.0: opcode 59-1 failed:status 1-76 RTNETLINK answers: Input/output error # echo 0 > /sys/class/net/eth0/device/sriov_numvfs <- Delete VF iommu: Removing device 0000:01:04.0 from group 33 ... # echo 1 > /sys/class/net/eth0/device/sriov_numvfs <- Create it again iommu: Removing device 0000:01:04.0 from group 33 ... # ip link set eth8 up be2net 0000:01:04.0 eth8: Link is Up Initialization is now OK. v2 - Corrected the comment and condition check suggested by Suresh & Harsha Fixes: 34393529163a ("be2net: fix MAC addr setting on privileged BE3 VFs") Cc: Sathya Perla <sathya.perla@broadcom.com> Cc: Ajit Khaparde <ajit.khaparde@broadcom.com> Cc: Sriharsha Basavapatna <sriharsha.basavapatna@broadcom.com> Cc: Somnath Kotur <somnath.kotur@broadcom.com> Signed-off-by: Ivan Vecera <cera@cera.cz> Acked-by: Sriharsha Basavapatna <sriharsha.basavapatna@broadcom.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2017-01-16be2net: fix MAC addr setting on privileged BE3 VFsIvan Vecera1-2/+10
During interface opening MAC address stored in netdev->dev_addr is programmed in the HW with exception of BE3 VFs where the initial MAC is programmed by parent PF. This is OK when MAC address is not changed when an interfaces is down. In this case the requested MAC is stored to netdev->dev_addr and later is stored into HW during opening. But this is not done for all BE3 VFs so the NIC HW does not know anything about this change and all traffic is filtered. This is the case of bonding if fail_over_mac == 0 where the MACs of the slaves are changed while they are down. The be2net behavior is too restrictive because if a BE3 VF has the FILTMGMT privilege then it is able to modify its MAC without any restriction. To solve the described problem the driver should take care about these privileged BE3 VFs so the MAC is programmed during opening. And by contrast unpriviled BE3 VFs should not be allowed to change its MAC in any case. 2017-01-07be2net: fix unicast list fillingIvan Vecera1-2/+1
The adapter->pmac_id[0] item is used for primary MAC address but this is not true for adapter->uc_list[0] as is assumed in be_set_uc_list(). There are N UC addresses copied first from net_device to adapter->uc_list[1..N] and then N UC addresses from adapter->uc_list[0..N-1] are sent to HW. So the last UC address is never stored into HW and address 00:00:00:00;00:00 (from uc_list[0]) is used instead. Commit 988d44b "be2net: Avoid redundant addition of mac address in HW" introduced be_dev_mac_add & be_uc_mac_add helpers that incorrectly access adapter->uc_list as an array of bytes instead of an array of be_eth_addr. 2017-01-03benet: stricter vxlan offloading check in be_features_checkSabrina Dubroca1-1/+3
When VXLAN offloading is enabled, be_features_check() tries to check if an encapsulated packet is indeed a VXLAN packet. The check is not strict enough, and considers any UDP-encapsulated ethernet frame with a 8-byte tunnel header as being VXLAN. Unfortunately, both GENEVE and VXLAN-GPE have a 8-byte header, so they get through this check. Force the UDP destination port to be the one that has been offloaded to hardware. Without this, GENEVE-encapsulated packets can end up having an incorrect checksum when both a GENEVE and a VXLAN (offloaded) tunnel are configured. This is similar to commit a547224dceed ("mlx4e: Do not attempt to offload VXLAN ports that are unrecognized"). Signed-off-by: Sabrina Dubroca <sd@queasysnail.net> Signed-off-by: David S. All conflicts were simple overlapping changes except perhaps for the Thunder driver. That driver has a change_mtu method explicitly for sending a message to the hardware. If that fails it returns an error. Normally a driver doesn't need an ndo_change_mtu method becuase those are usually just range changes, which are now handled generically. But since this extra operation is needed in the Thunder driver, it has to stay. However, if the message send fails we have to restore the original MTU before the change because the entire call chain expects that if an error is thrown by ndo_change_mtu then the MTU did not change. Therefore code is added to nicvf_change_mtu to remember the original MTU, and to restore it upon nicvf_update_hw_max_frs() failue. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

There are also a few drivers that had no upper bounds checking, so they're getting a brand new ETH_MAX_MTU that is identical to IP_MAX_MTU, but accessible by includes all ethernet and ethernet-like drivers all have already. acenic: - min_mtu = 0, max_mtu = 9000 amazon/ena: - min_mtu = 128, max_mtu = adapter->max_mtu amd/xgbe: - min_mtu = 0, max_mtu = 9000 sb1250: - min_mtu = 0, max_mtu = 1518 cxgb3: - min_mtu = 81, max_mtu = 65535 cxgb4: - min_mtu = 81, max_mtu = 9600 cxgb4vf: - min_mtu = 81, max_mtu = 65535 benet: - min_mtu = 256, max_mtu = 9000 ibmveth: - min_mtu = 68, max_mtu = 65535 ibmvnic: - min_mtu = adapter->min_mtu, max_mtu = adapter->max_mtu - remove now redundant ibmvnic_change_mtu jme: - min_mtu = 1280, max_mtu = 9202 mv643xx_eth: - min_mtu = 64, max_mtu = 9500 mlxsw: - min_mtu = 0, max_mtu = 65535 - Basically bypassing the core checks, and instead relying on dynamic checks in the respective switch drivers' ndo_change_mtu functions ns83820: - min_mtu = 0 - remove redundant ns83820_change_mtu, only checked for mtu > 1500 netxen: - min_mtu = 0, max_mtu = 8000 (P2), max_mtu = 9600 (P3) qlge: - min_mtu = 1500, max_mtu = 9000 - driver only supports setting mtu to 1500 or 9000, so the core check only rules out < 1500 and > 9000, qlge_change_mtu still needs to check that the value is 1500 or 9000 qualcomm/emac: - min_mtu = 46, max_mtu = 9194 xilinx_axienet: - min_mtu = 64, max_mtu = 9000 Fixes: 61e84623ace3 ("net: centralize net_device min/max MTU checking") CC: netdev@vger.kernel.org CC: Jes Sorensen <jes@trained-monkey.org> CC: Netanel Belgazal <netanel@annapurnalabs.com> CC: Tom Lendacky <thomas.lendacky@amd.com> CC: Santosh Raspatur <santosh@chelsio.com> CC: Hariprasad S <hariprasad@chelsio.com> CC: Sathya Perla <sathya.perla@broadcom.com> CC: Ajit Khaparde <ajit.khaparde@broadcom.com> CC: Sriharsha Basavapatna <sriharsha.basavapatna@broadcom.com> CC: Somnath Kotur <somnath.kotur@broadcom.com> CC: Thomas Falcon <tlfalcon@linux.vnet.ibm.com> CC: John Allen <jallen@linux.vnet.ibm.com> CC: Guo-Fu Tseng <cooldavid@cooldavid.org> CC: Sebastian Hesselbarth <sebastian.hesselbarth@gmail.com> CC: Jiri Pirko <jiri@mellanox.com> CC: Ido Schimmel <idosch@mellanox.com> CC: Manish Chopra <manish.chopra@qlogic.com> CC: Sony Chacko <sony.chacko@qlogic.com> CC: Rajesh Borundia <rajesh.borundia@qlogic.com> CC: Timur Tabi <timur@codeaurora.org> CC: Anirudha Sarangi <anirudh@xilinx.com> CC: John Linn <John.Linn@xilinx.com> Signed-off-by: Jarod Wilson <jarod@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2016-10-09be2net: Fix TX stats for TSO packetsSriharsha Basavapatna1-2/+12
TX stats update does not take into account headers which get duplicated when the TSO packet is split into segments by HW. Fix this for both tunneled (vxlan) and non-tunneled TSO packets. 2016-10-09be2net: NCSI FW section should be properly updated with ethtool for BE3Sriharsha Basavapatna1-1/+23
The driver has a check to ensure that NCSI FW section is updated only if the current FW version in the card supports it. This FW version check is done using memcmp() which obviously fails in some cases. Fix this by breaking up the version string into integer version components and comparing them. 2016-10-09be2net: Provide an alternate way to read pf_num for BEx chipsSriharsha Basavapatna2-1/+10
The driver gets the pf_num for Skyhawk and Lancer using GET_FUNC_CONFIG FW command. But since that command is not supported in BEx, we need to get it from some other command. Otherwise TPE recovery would fail since all NIC PFs would end up with a func num of 0. There's a pci function number field in the response of GET_CNTL_ATTRIBUTES command that can be read to get the same info for BEx adapters. 2016-09-24net: Update API for VF vlan protocol 802.1ad supportMoshe Shemesh1-1/+5
Introduce new rtnl UAPI that exposes a list of vlans per VF, giving the ability for user-space application to specify it for the VF, as an option to support 802.1ad. We adjusted IP Link tool to support this option. For future use cases, the new UAPI supports multiple vlans. For now we limit the list size to a single vlan in kernel. Add IFLA_VF_VLAN_LIST in addition to IFLA_VF_VLAN to keep backward compatibility with older versions of IP Link tool. Add a vlan protocol parameter to the ndo_set_vf_vlan callback. We kept 802.1Q as the drivers' default vlan protocol. Suitable ip link tool command examples: Set vf vlan protocol 802.1ad: ip link set eth0 vf 1 vlan 100 proto 802.1ad Set vf to VST (802.1Q) mode: ip link set eth0 vf 1 vlan 100 proto 802.1Q Or by omitting the new parameter ip link set eth0 vf 1 vlan 100 Signed-off-by: Moshe Shemesh <moshe@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: Tariq Toukan <tariqt@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2016-09-19be2net: mark symbols static where possibleBaoyou Xie2-5/+6

2016-09-07be2net: Fix mac address collision in some configurationsSuresh Reddy2-2/+5
If the device mac address is updated using ndo_set_mac_address(), while the same mac address is already programmed, the driver does not detect this condition if its netdev->dev_addr has been changed. The driver tries to add the same mac address resulting in mac address collision error. This has been observed in bonding mode-5 configuration. To fix this, store the mac address configured in HW in the adapter structure. Use this to compare against the new address being updated to avoid collision.
