2017-01-02net: faraday: ftmac100: use new api ethtool_{get|set}_link_ksettingsPhilippe Reynes1-6/+8
The ethtool api {get|set}_settings is deprecated. We move this driver to new api {get|set}_link_ksettings. Signed-off-by: Philippe Reynes <tremyfr@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-10-20net: ethernet: faraday: drop owner assignment from platform_driversWolfram Sang1-1/+0
A platform_driver does not need to set an owner, it will be populated by the driver core. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2014-05-13net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPSWilfried Klaebe1-1/+1
net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPS Dave Miller mentioned he'd like to see SET_ETHTOOL_OPS gone. This does that. Mostly done via coccinelle script: @@ struct ethtool_ops *ops; struct net_device *dev; @@ - SET_ETHTOOL_OPS(dev, ops); + dev->ethtool_ops = ops; Compile tested only, but I'd seriously wonder if this broke anything. 2013-08-29drivers:net: Convert dma_alloc_coherent(...__GFP_ZERO) to dma_zalloc_coherentJoe Perches1-4/+4
__GFP_ZERO is an uncommon flag and perhaps is better not used. static inline dma_zalloc_coherent exists so convert the uses of dma_alloc_coherent with __GFP_ZERO to the more common kernel style with zalloc. Remove memset from the static inline dma_zalloc_coherent and add just one use of __GFP_ZERO instead. Trivially reduces the size of the existing uses of dma_zalloc_coherent. Realign arguments as appropriate. 2013-05-27net: ethernet: remove unnecessary platform_set_drvdata()Jingoo Han1-2/+0
The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure, since commit 0998d0631001288a5974afc0b2a5f568bcdecb4d (device-core: Ensure drvdata = NULL when no driver is bound). Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the device driver data to NULL. 2013-03-17drivers:net: dma_alloc_coherent: use __GFP_ZERO instead of memset(, 0)Joe Perches1-4/+4
Reduce the number of calls required to alloc a zeroed block of memory. Trivially reduces overall object size. Other changes around these removals o Neaten call argument alignment o Remove an unnecessary OOM message after dma_alloc_coherent failure o Remove unnecessary gfp_t stack variable Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-01-06ethtool: fix drvinfo strings set in driversJiri Pirko1-3/+3
Use strlcpy where possible to ensure the string is \0 terminated. Use always sizeof(string) instead of 32, ETHTOOL_BUSINFO_LEN and custom defines. Use snprintf instead of sprint. Remove unnecessary inits of ->fw_version Remove unnecessary inits of drvinfo struct. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@resnulli.us> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-07-18net: ftgmac100/ftmac100: dont pull too much dataEric Dumazet1-4/+7
Drivers should pull only ethernet header from page frag to skb->head. Pulling 64 bytes is too much for TCP (without options) on IPv4. However, it makes sense to pull all the frame if it fits the 128 bytes bloc allocated for skb->head, to free one page per small incoming frame. 2012-02-15net: replace random_ether_addr() with eth_hw_addr_random()Danny Kukawka1-1/+1
Replace usage of random_ether_addr() with eth_hw_addr_random() to set addr_assign_type correctly to NET_ADDR_RANDOM. Change the trivial cases. v2: adapt to renamed eth_hw_addr_random() Signed-off-by: Danny Kukawka <danny.kukawka@bisect.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-01-18net: ftgmac100/ftmac100: add missing interrupt.h includeThomas Faber1-0/+1

2011-10-13ftmac100: fix skb truesize underestimationEric Dumazet1-1/+4
ftmac100 allocates a page per skb fragment. We must account PAGE_SIZE increments on skb->truesize, not the actual frag length. If frame is under 64 bytes, page is freed, so increase truesize only for bigger frames.
