2013-05-05net/eth/ibmveth: Fixup retrieval of MAC addressBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-13/+10
Some ancient pHyp versions used to create a 8 bytes local-mac-address property in the device-tree instead of a 6 bytes one for veth. The Linux driver code to deal with that is an insane hack which also happens to break with some choices of MAC addresses in qemu by testing for a bit in the address rather than just looking at the size of the property. Sanitize this by doing the latter instead. Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> CC: <stable@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-03-15drivers:net: Remove dma_alloc_coherent OOM messagesJoe Perches1-4/+2
I believe these error messages are already logged on allocation failure by warn_alloc_failed and so get a dump_stack on OOM. Remove the unnecessary additional error logging. Around these deletions: o Alignment neatening. o Remove unnecessary casts of dma_alloc_coherent. o Hoist assigns from ifs. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-02-04ethernet: Remove unnecessary alloc/OOM messages, alloc cleanupsJoe Perches1-1/+0
alloc failures already get standardized OOM messages and a dump_stack. Convert kzalloc's with multiplies to kcalloc. Convert kmalloc's with multiplies to kmalloc_array. Fix a few whitespace defects. Convert a constant 6 to ETH_ALEN. Use parentheses around sizeof. Convert vmalloc/memset to vzalloc. Remove now unused size variables. 2013-01-06ethtool: fix drvinfo strings set in driversJiri Pirko1-3/+2
Use strlcpy where possible to ensure the string is \0 terminated. Use always sizeof(string) instead of 32, ETHTOOL_BUSINFO_LEN and custom defines. Use snprintf instead of sprint. Remove unnecessary inits of ->fw_version Remove unnecessary inits of drvinfo struct. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@resnulli.us> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-12-07drivers/net: fix up function prototypes after __dev* removalsGreg Kroah-Hartman1-2/+1
The __dev* removal patches for the network drivers ended up messing up the function prototypes for a bunch of drivers. This patch fixes all of them back up to be properly aligned. Bonus is that this almost removes 100 lines of code, always a nice surprise. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-12-03ibmveth: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton1-3/+3
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. 2012-09-05ibmveth: Fix alignment of rx queue bugSantiago Leon1-17/+9
This patch fixes a bug found by Nish Aravamudan (https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/5/15/220) where the driver is not following the spec (it is not aligning the rx buffer on a 16-byte boundary) and the hypervisor aborts the registration, making the device unusable. The fix follows BenH's recommendation (https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/7/20/461) to replace the kmalloc+map for a single call to dma_alloc_coherent() because that function always aligns to a 16-byte boundary. The stable trees will run into this bug whenever the rx buffer kmalloc call returns something not aligned on a 16-byte boundary. 2012-03-28powerpc+sparc/vio: Modernize driver registrationBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-5/+2
This makes vio_register_driver() get the module owner & name at compile time like PCI drivers do, and adds a name pointer directly in struct vio_driver to avoid having to explicitly initialize the embedded struct device. 2011-10-19net: add skb frag size accessorsEric Dumazet1-3/+3
To ease skb->truesize sanitization, its better to be able to localize all references to skb frags size. Define accessors : skb_frag_size() to fetch frag size, and skb_frag_size_{set|add|sub}() to manipulate it. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S.
