2019-02-14net: micrel: ks8695net: replace dev_kfree_skb_irq by dev_consume_skb_irq for drop profilesYang Wei1-1/+1
dev_consume_skb_irq() should be called in ks8695_tx_irq() when skb xmit done. It makes drop profiles(dropwatch, perf) more friendly. Signed-off-by: Yang Wei <yang.wei9@zte.com.cn> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2018-09-21net: micrel: fix return type of ndo_start_xmit functionYueHaibing1-1/+1
The method ndo_start_xmit() is defined as returning an 'netdev_tx_t', which is a typedef for an enum type, so make sure the implementation in this driver has returns 'netdev_tx_t' value, and change the function return type to netdev_tx_t. 2017-02-12net: micrel: ks8695net: use new api ethtool_{get|set}_link_ksettingsPhilippe Reynes1-41/+50
The ethtool api {get|set}_settings is deprecated. We move this driver to new api {get|set}_link_ksettings. As I don't have the hardware, I'd be very pleased if someone may test this patch. Signed-off-by: Philippe Reynes <tremyfr@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2017-02-05ks8695net: add GRO supportEric Dumazet1-6/+5
Use napi_complete_done() instead of __napi_complete() to : 1) Get support of gro_flush_timeout if opt-in 2) Not rearm interrupts for busy-polling users. 3) use standard NAPI API. Note that rx_lock seems to be useless, NAPI logic should not need this extra care. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-05-17drivers: net: Don't print unpopulated net_device nameHarvey Hunt1-2/+5
For ethernet devices, net_device.name will be eth%d before register_netdev() is called. Don't print the net_device name until the format string is replaced. 2014-10-20net: ethernet: micrel: drop owner assignment from platform_driversWolfram Sang1-1/+0
A platform_driver does not need to set an owner, it will be populated by the driver core. Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2014-05-13net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPSWilfried Klaebe1-3/+3
net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPS Dave Miller mentioned he'd like to see SET_ETHTOOL_OPS gone. This does that. Mostly done via coccinelle script: @@ struct ethtool_ops *ops; struct net_device *dev; @@ - SET_ETHTOOL_OPS(dev, ops); + dev->ethtool_ops = ops; Compile tested only, but I'd seriously wonder if this broke anything. 2014-01-16drivers/net: delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>Paul Gortmaker1-1/+0
None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. This covers everything under drivers/net except for wireless, which has been submitted separately. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-05-27net: ethernet: remove unnecessary platform_set_drvdata()Jingoo Han1-1/+0
The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure, since commit 0998d0631001288a5974afc0b2a5f568bcdecb4d (device-core: Ensure drvdata = NULL when no driver is bound). Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the device driver data to NULL. 2012-11-19net/ethernet: remove useless is_valid_ether_addr from drivers ndo_openJoachim Eastwood1-3/+0
If ndo_validate_addr is set to the generic eth_validate_addr function there is no point in calling is_valid_ether_addr from driver ndo_open if ndo_open is not used elsewhere in the driver. With this change is_valid_ether_addr will be called from the generic eth_validate_addr function. So there should be no change in the actual behavior.
