2012-12-03net/micrel: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton1-3/+3
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. Signed-off-by: Bill Pemberton <wfp5p@virginia.edu> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

2012-06-07net/ethernet: ks8851_mll unregister_netdev() before freeingDan Carpenter1-1/+3
We added another error condition here, but if we were to hit it then we need to unregister_netdev() before doing the free_netdev(). Otherwise we would hit the BUG_ON() in free_netdev(): BUG_ON(dev->reg_state != NETREG_UNREGISTERED); Signed-off-by: Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@oracle.com> Tested-by: Raffaele Recalcati <raffaele.recalcati@bticino.it> Signed-off-by: David S. 2012-04-14net/ethernet: ks8851_mll fix rx frame buffer overflowDavide Ciminaghi1-1/+1
At the beginning of ks_rcv(), a for loop retrieves the header information relevant to all the frames stored in the mac's internal buffers. The number of pending frames is stored as an 8 bits field in KS_RXFCTR. If interrupts are disabled long enough to allow for more than 32 frames to accumulate in the MAC's internal buffers, a buffer overflow occurs. This patch fixes the problem by making the driver's frame_head_info buffer big enough. Well actually, since the chip appears to have 12K of internal rx buffers and the shortest ethernet frame should be 64 bytes long, maybe the limit could be set to 12*1024/64 = 192 frames, but 255 should be safer. 2012-02-26Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/netDavid S. Miller1-1/+1
Conflicts: drivers/net/ethernet/sfc/rx.c Overlapping changes in drivers/net/ethernet/sfc/rx.c, one to change the rx_buf->is_page boolean into a set of u16 flags, and another to adjust how ->ip_summed is initialized. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-02-19net/ethernet: ks8851_mll: signedness bug in ks8851_probe()Dan Carpenter1-1/+1
netdev->irq is unsigned, so it's never less than zero. Signed-off-by: Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@oracle.com> Tested-by: Jan Weitzel <j.weitzel@phytec.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-02-19Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/netDavid S. Miller1-8/+6
Conflicts: drivers/net/ethernet/broadcom/bnx2x/bnx2x_stats.c Small minor conflict in bnx2x, wherein one commit changed how statistics were stored in software, and another commit fixed endianness bugs wrt. reading the values provided by the chip in memory. 2012-02-15net/ethernet: ks8851_mll fix irq handlingJan Weitzel1-8/+6
There a two different irq variables ks->irq and netdev->irq. Only ks->irq is set on probe, so disabling irq in ks_start_xmit fails. This patches remove ks->irq from private data and use only netdev->irq. Tested on a kernel 3.0 based OMAP4430 SMP Board Signed-off-by: Jan Weitzel <j.weitzel@phytec.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-02-15net: use eth_hw_addr_random() and reset addr_assign_typeDanny Kukawka1-0/+1
Use eth_hw_addr_random() instead of calling random_ether_addr() to set addr_assign_type correctly to NET_ADDR_RANDOM. Reset the state to NET_ADDR_PERM as soon as the MAC get changed via .ndo_set_mac_address. v2: adapt to renamed eth_hw_addr_random() Signed-off-by: Danny Kukawka <danny.kukawka@bisect.de> Signed-off-by: David S.
