2012-12-03lpc_eth: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton1-1/+1
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. Signed-off-by: Bill Pemberton <wfp5p@virginia.edu> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2012-11-19net/ethernet: remove useless is_valid_ether_addr from drivers ndo_openJoachim Eastwood1-3/+1
If ndo_validate_addr is set to the generic eth_validate_addr function there is no point in calling is_valid_ether_addr from driver ndo_open if ndo_open is not used elsewhere in the driver. With this change is_valid_ether_addr will be called from the generic eth_validate_addr function. So there should be no change in the actual behavior. 2012-11-02drivers/net/ethernet/nxp/lpc_eth.c: Call mdiobus_unregister before mdiobus_freePeter Senna Tschudin1-0/+1
Based on commit b27393aecf66199f5ddad37c302d3e0cfadbe6c0 Calling mdiobus_free without calling mdiobus_unregister causes BUG_ON(). This patch fixes the issue. The semantic patch that found this issue(http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/): // <smpl> @@ expression E; @@ ... when != mdiobus_unregister(E); + mdiobus_unregister(E); mdiobus_free(E); // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Peter Senna Tschudin <peter.senna@gmail.com> Tested-by: Roland Stigge <stigge@antcom.de> Tested-by: Alexandre Pereira da Silva <aletes.xgr@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2012-08-08lpc_eth: remove obsolete ifdefsstigge@antcom.de1-13/+0
The #ifdefs regarding CONFIG_ARCH_LPC32XX_MII_SUPPORT and CONFIG_ARCH_LPC32XX_IRAM_FOR_NET are obsolete since the symbols have been removed from Kconfig and replaced by devicetree based configuration. 2012-06-17net: lpc_eth: free skbs in start_xmitEric Dumazet1-6/+5
Transmitted skbs can be freed immediately in lpc_eth_hard_start_xmit() instead of at TX completion, since driver copies the frames in DMA area. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com> Tested-by: Roland Stigge <stigge@antcom.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-06-11lpc_eth: fix tx completionEric Dumazet1-5/+5
__lpc_handle_xmit() has two bugs : 1) It can leak skbs in case TXSTATUS_ERROR is set 2) It can wake up txqueue while no slot was freed. 2012-06-11lpc_eth: add missing ndo_change_mtu()Eric Dumazet1-0/+1
lpc_eth does a copy of transmitted skbs to DMA area, without checking skb lengths, so can trigger buffer overflows : memcpy(pldat->tx_buff_v + txidx * ENET_MAXF_SIZE, skb->data, len); One way to get bigger skbs is to allow MTU changes above the 1500 limit. Calling eth_change_mtu() in ndo_change_mtu() makes sure this cannot happen. Pull device tree conversions for arm-soc, part 1, from Olof Johansson: "The spear3xx, lpc32xx, shmobile and mmp platforms are joining the game of booting using device trees, which is a great step forward for them. at91 and spear have pretty much completed this process with a huge amount of work being put into at91. The other platforms are continuing the process. We finally start to see the payback on this investment, as new machines are getting supported purely by adding a .dts source file that can be completely independent of the kernel source." 2012-04-22net: Add device tree support to LPC32xxRoland Stigge1-21/+50
This patch adds device tree support for lpc_eth.c. The runtime option for MII/RMII is solved via the "phy-mode" property, SRAM ("IRAM") usage for DMA can be chosen via "use-iram".
