2013-01-06ethtool: fix drvinfo strings set in driversJiri Pirko1-4/+4
Use strlcpy where possible to ensure the string is \0 terminated. Use always sizeof(string) instead of 32, ETHTOOL_BUSINFO_LEN and custom defines. Use snprintf instead of sprint. Remove unnecessary inits of ->fw_version Remove unnecessary inits of drvinfo struct. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@resnulli.us> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2013-01-03net: remove unnecessary NET_ADDR_RANDOM "bitclean"Jiri Pirko1-4/+2
NET_ADDR_SET is set in dev_set_mac_address() no need to alter dev->addr_assign_type value in drivers. Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@resnulli.us> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-12-03net/octeon_mgmt: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton1-3/+3
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. Signed-off-by: Bill Pemberton <wfp5p@virginia.edu> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2012-10-09Merge branch 'upstream' of git://git.linux-mips.org/pub/scm/ralf/upstream-linusLinus Torvalds1-105/+445
Pull MIPS update from Ralf Baechle: "This is the MIPS update for 3.7. A fair chunk of them are platform updates to the Cavium Octeon SOC (which involves machine generated header files of considerable size), Atheros ATH79xx, RMI aka Netlogic aka Broadcom XLP, Broadcom BCM63xx platforms. Support for the commercial MIPS simulator MIPSsim has been removed as MIPS Technologies is shifting away from this product and Qemu is offering various more powerful platforms. The generic MIPS code can now also probe for no-execute / write-only TLB features implemented without the full SmartMIPS extension as permitted by the latest MIPS processor architecture. Lots of small changes to generic code." * 'upstream' of git://git.linux-mips.org/pub/scm/ralf/upstream-linus: (78 commits) MIPS: ath79: Fix CPU/DDR frequency calculation for SRIF PLLs MIPS: ath79: use correct fractional dividers for {CPU,DDR}_PLL on AR934x MIPS: BCM63XX: Properly handle mac address octet overflow MIPS: Kconfig: Avoid build errors by hiding USE_OF from the user. MIPS: Replace `-' in defconfig filename wth `_' for consistency. MIPS: Wire kcmp syscall. MIPS: MIPSsim: Remove the MIPSsim platform. MIPS: NOTIFY_RESUME is not needed in TIF masks MIPS: Merge the identical "return from syscall" per-ABI code MIPS: Unobfuscate _TIF..._MASK MIPS: Prevent hitting do_notify_resume() with !user_mode(regs). 2012-09-28netdev: octeon: fix return value check in octeon_mgmt_init_phy()Wei Yongjun1-3/+1
In case of error, the function of_phy_connect() returns NULL pointer not ERR_PTR(). The IS_ERR() test in the return value check should be replaced with NULL test. dpatch engine is used to auto generate this patch. 2012-08-31netdev: octeon_mgmt: Make multi-line comment style consistent.David Daney1-18/+9
No code changes. Recent patches have used the netdev style multi-line comment formatting, making the style inconsistent within octeon_mgmt.c Update the remaining comment blocks to achieve style harmony. Signed-off-by: David Daney <david.daney@cavium.com> Acked-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2012-08-31netdev: octeon_mgmt: Cleanup and modernize MAC address handling.David Daney1-7/+9
Use eth_mac_addr(), and generate a random address if none is otherwise assigned. Signed-off-by: David Daney <david.daney@cavium.com> Acked-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-08-31netdev: octeon_mgmt: Set the parent device.David Daney1-0/+2
This establishes useful links in sysfs. Signed-off-by: David Daney <david.daney@cavium.com> Acked-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-08-31netdev: octeon_mgmt: Improve ethtool_ops.David Daney1-4/+18
Correctly show no link when the interface is down, and return -EOPNOTSUPP for things that don't work. This quiets the ethtool program when run on down interfaces. Signed-off-by: David Daney <david.daney@cavium.com> Acked-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-08-31netdev: octeon_mgmt: Add hardware timestamp support.Chad Reese1-5/+152
Octeon cn6XXX models have timestamp support on the mgmt ports, so hook it up. Signed-off-by: Chad Reese <kreese@caviumnetworks.com> Signed-off-by: David Daney <david.daney@cavium.com> Acked-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-08-31netdev: octeon_mgmt: Add support for 1Gig ports.David Daney1-73/+255
The original hardware only supported 10M and 100M. Later versions added 1G support. Here we update the driver to make use of this. Also minor logic clean-ups for testing PHY registration error codes and TX complete high water marks. Signed-off-by: David Daney <david.daney@cavium.com> Acked-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-07-23netdev: octeon_mgmt: Convert to use device tree.David Daney1-105/+207
The device tree will supply the register bank base addresses, make register addressing relative to those. PHY connection is now described by the device tree. The OCTEON_IRQ_MII{0,1} symbols are also removed as they are now unused and interfere with the irq_domain used for device tree irq mapping. 2012-02-13octeon: fix PHY name to match MDIO bus nameFlorian Fainelli1-2/+2
Commit "d6c25be: mdio-octeon: use an unique MDIO bus name" changed the octeon MDIO bus name from "0" to "mdio-octeon-0", change the PHY formatting logic to account for that name change, so that PHY connection on this bus succeeds. 2011-10-31drivers/net: Add module.h to drivers who were implicitly using itPaul Gortmaker1-0/+1
The device.h header was including module.h, making it present for most of these drivers. But we want to clean that up. Call out the include of module.h in the modular network drivers. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>

2011-08-17net: introduce IFF_UNICAST_FLT private flagJiri Pirko1-0/+3
Use IFF_UNICAST_FTL to find out if driver handles unicast address filtering. In case it does not, promisc mode is entered. Patch also fixes following drivers: stmmac, niu: support uc filtering and yet it propagated ndo_set_multicast_list bna, benet, pxa168_eth, ks8851, ks8851_mll, ksz884x : has set ndo_set_rx_mode but do not support uc filtering Signed-off-by: Jiri Pirko <jpirko@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S.
